So happy!! We have a valuable jewelry insurance plan through our credit union because I'm normally horrible with jewelry and my DH worried about my rings. It's a blanket coverage though that we pay less than $2 a month. Anyway just called to see if I can claim my DH ring and I can! There's no deductible and our rate won't increase since it's our first claim ever and we have had it for 5 years. It was so easy to do and we will have the money by Friday, so weekend ring shopping!
@Tferr02 that's awesome! I think you should be able to get something out of this weekend ring shopping
In other news, I'm in heaven. The cafeteria in my office building is doing create your own mac & cheese for lunch: buffalo chicken, mediterrnean shrimp, or roasted vegetable (and potentially combos of these as well)! They certainly know how to make this preggo happy =P~
I can't stand that my family walks into my house whenever they want without giving me any sort of heads up they're coming over. It doesn't matter if I tell them I'd appreciate them to call ahead of time. It doesn't matter if the doors are locked. They won't go away. X(
Let then walk in on you naked, or having sex, they'll never do it again.
My mom walked in on DH getting ready to take a shower and she still won't quit. My sister has walked in on us having sex, and she shows up unannounced all the time. It's fucked and I'm sick of it.
Yikes! Can you install one of those chains for your door? Maybe they'll get the message then
Ok I need ring help. My DH is in the army so I need a ring that will hold up to a lot of abuse. However it also needs to be something they could cut off his finger easily in case of emergency. His last ring was white gold brushed. It had scratched up pretty good, but it still looked good overall. Help?!
@BiggerinRealLife I had thought about that and was thinking it would be a waste of money to use it because of the dogs... It didn't occur to me that I'll be able to use it again in about a year! You're a genius.

DH and I always joke about how our baby was switched at the hospital, because DS1 seriously doesn't look like either one of us. Yesterday we were outside and the UPS guy walked by and DS1 points and him and goes "DADA!!". I couldn't help but bust up laughing, which prompted 2-3 more "dadas" from him.
I hate referring to my hubs as "my husband" to people irl. It makes me feel like he doesn't have an identity of his own. However, when I use his name, people look at me confused because they don't know who I am talking about...

I do and feel this way too. That's why I've started saying, "My husband, Brent,..." and when I feel like I've done that enough, I just start saying Brent. If they ask, "Now who are you talking about?" I'll tell them my husband but don't go back to referring to him as that.

So in the natural birth thread someone wrote that too much couch time leads to a c-section... Um, I have never heard of this. Weird.
Speaking of couch time, I cannot stand jenny mccarthy I'm pretty sure she's a stupid bitch who needs to stfu and get off tv. This "DR" on the view is a little ridiculous and I think he just called Dr. Oz dumb. lol
Augh, so because I'm on bed rest on the couch I will most likely need a c-section? People are so dumb
@Elreyes A macaroni and cheese bar?? That's genius!
@jellysparkles Your DD is rockin' the Mardi Gras attire. Cute
I also feel a little weird using the word "husband" IRL and I don't know why. I also quickly use his name in conjunction with "husband" then continue just using his name. On the same note, it also feels weird being referred to as a wife. Maybe it's because I got married later and am still getting used to the titles?

I have no ring advise. DH doesn't wear his a lot. He doesn't wear it at home, or when he plays softball, or when he golfs, and he forgets a lot when he's not doing those things. Oh well, it's a battle I'm not into fighting.
Update on my appts. I had to have a growth u/s this morning because my fundal height was measuring small. Baby girl looks good. A little on the small side, but nothing of concern. Her head is already firmly planted in my cervix, which should make like fun when she starts to get bigger...not! I also learned yesterday that there is a possibility that epidural won't be an option for me, and I am still on the fence about whether I would want one anyway, but I have a low platelet count, and if they are low enough, they won't due epidural for risk of bleeding
I have been SOOO looking forward to our babymoon in Charleston, SC this weekend and its supposed to rain the WHOLE weekend Chances went from 100% to 60%....so hoping a little sunshine comes out...

I'm having a day where I'm actually calculating the odds of what will happen to my husbands family dynamic if I drive 45 mins to punch my only sister in law square in the face. Hmm.
Decided to put up our pack and play today since we are switching our bedrooms and have a place to put it. Good thing we didn't wait, because one piece is totally defective and sewed incorrectly so we have to go exchange it for a new one. Now SO is letting me take everything out of the box and check! Yay!!
Why do my boobs look so good? Then I peed on a stick...
DD's birthday is in a couple of weeks and we're thinking about taking her and a couple of her little friends to a bouncy house-type place and pizza. How long should I book the place for? There will only be 4 kids including her... I think they might just get tired and cranky after awhile. 1.5 hours? Help!

DH has a tungsten Carbonide ring and it holds up well but they did tell us it takes a special tool to cut off so depending on the job he could risk losing a finger....
So does DH and we paid $25 for it off amazon. It's the exact same as any other one you would buy at a jewelry store.

I bought his carbonide right for about $25 at buy.com looks great and you can't tell that it was so cheap

DH has a similar ring. It was titanium with a black carbon fiber inlay, and it wasn't terribly expensive either (under $150 I think). He gets compliments all the time; I love those rings! They definitely look manlier than the more expensive gold rings, which was a big selling point for DH. Cheaper was just a bonus!

Thanks everybody for the ring info! I'm going to have him try on a titanium and a tungsten ring and see which he likes the feel of better. I also definitely like these cheaper prices, especially if he's going to keep losing it.
Man...I saw this statement today on an Icelandic blog. I'm still looking for the graphic, this is what our home loan is for. Ridiculous...
Like I would ever be able to pay 4.3 million dollars. And if I was, it wouldn't be on a 2 bedroom apartment. Oh well, at least I'm not the only one. (No one can pay this back.)
Yesterday I saw a graphic somewhere on FB that showed the difference between a mortgage taken in Iceland, and one taken in Norway. For a mortgage worth ISK 26 million (USD 224,000), the Norwegian winds up paying back ISK 40 million. The Icelander, on the other hand, pays back ISK 500 million (USD 4.3 million)!!
kseccomb17 I think an hour and a 1/2 is plenty! Especially if she and her friends are all fairly young.. my cousin has yearly birthday parties at a bouncy place and he's tired after about an hour. Then they do pizza and presents!

LOL. I might. DH is even mad about this one. Her kids have been the only grandchildren for yars (18 yo and a 10 yo) and shes.. not taking having another grandkid in the family... Even one that hasnt been born yet! Goodness.
Well my appt didn't exactly go how I thought it would today. I'm not worried per se, but thoughts and prayers are appreciated. I'm measuring small, so I need to go in tomorrow for an ultrasound to check growth, though my doctor said she's hoping it's just because I have a long torso, and I did gain 7 pounds. Also, my platelet count is low, so I need to do repeat bloodwork before my next appt to see how quickly the levels are dropping, and probably repeat bloodwork again at 35 weeks. She said this is just something that happens rarely to some people, and it's not much cause for concern, but it's good to be aware of if the levels get too low

Clearly the solution is to visit lots and lots of restaurants. Because rain.

I could be wrong about this, but I thought titanium was virtually indestructible? It may be worth looking into before you fall in love with a ring.
My old bff called me 5 days ago and said she was "for sure" leaving her boyfriend. Her mind was "completely made up." Then today she asked if she could call me on my lunch break to get some advice. She said she wants to look into IVF (she's nowhere near infertile) so she can have twin boys with her boyfriend because she wants to hurry up and finish having all 4 kids she's always wanted before the boyfriend gets any older (he's 43, she's 23).
A teacher here just got fired at a private Catholic school because she got pregnant before she married... :-O
I've heard of that happening at a few places recently, and not just for being pregnant - locally there was one recently that made news for a teacher publicly acknowledging her partner in her mom's obit. On one hand, I want to smack the employers, but on the other hand, I know that most religious private schools make their employees sign "morality clauses" that are in line with the sponsoring religion, so employees know what they're getting into beforehand.
Having gone to Catholic schools my whole life (gawd that makes me sound sheltered, doesn't it?) I know how hard they strive to portray the religious teachings/ideals through their faculty. I just wish there was a way to portray the Catholic ideal without also not screwing those same people, often in their times of great need and difficulty.
*Sigh* Sometimes I just don't understand religion...

@aronie82 we should share work emails, so we can vent during the day, LOL. My vents will be amusing, generally, lol..
All this bagel talk made me add bagels and cream cheese to my grocery list, thanks ladies, lol.
