  • @janice1921 Oh man I can't even imagine having to do this with 4 kitties :( my mom is being old fashioned and saying that 'cats suck the breath out of babies' trying to lick milk off their face. Whatttt?
I have had more than one person tell me that same thing and it makes me stabby.  Most ridiculous thing I ever heard.
  • @LoriMc12 your comment made me feel guilty about the hundred and something comments I skipped because I felt lost. Thanks! It's actually my first time finishing a piece of furniture. I was lucky enough to get an unfinished changing table. If you wanna refinish furniture there's an awesome kit at Home Depot that provides everything you need and you won't need to sand

I guess I talk about you ladies more than I realize. My husband remarked today that I'm always saying 'well the girls on the board said...' or 'OMG guess what happened on the board today...'

He said it's like I'm in a sorority for pregnant chicks. Haha! He loves the stories, he just won't admit it.

Last night my husband was on BuzzFeed reading something about 10 Useful/Strange baby things to have.. or something. It was interesting; I'll have to find it and show y'all. Anyway, one of the links took him to TB, and he was like, "Hey look, baby! I'm bumping!" ;))

ETA: Just kidding, he said he was on Pinterest which makes it even that much better. I couldn't find it, but here's the link to something similar. Some of these are so cool! Ultrasound device that hooks up to your phone!?

    No. Do tell.
It's not that exciting. She was just warning is about some chick that's going to post to our board soon and out being some sort of BF expert and have all sorts of great advice, but most answers end up being see a LC. She'll force us into making it a sticky. Hmmm let's see whose has stronger will power this chick or A14 >:)

That sounds like a fun challenge.

Yeah it's sounds very odd to me...I just don't understand the chicks motive

@irisheyez7 But the only way to get exactly what you want is to let Jonathan put all the features you love in a fixer-upper! Didn't you know that!? ;)@Serenla @thomas930 I've been thinking that newborn onesies are kind if pointless (depending on how big baby is) since the labels say 6-8lb. for NB and 8-12 for 0-3 months. If what you're saying is accurate for my baby, my baby will probably be over 8 pounds at birth. Are there other things to consider when buying NB clothing other than that weight on the label?
It may come down to length like Jelly said. My kids are pretty petite so that might be why I get so much use out of them.

I'm hiding in the bathroom to get away from my job, is that practicing for motherhood? Anyway, I was pondering something and I wonder if any experienced mamas could answer. Is it really nessacary to get a whole bunch of 0-3mo clothing? My mom says that he will most likely not be in them for long and I should just be getting bunches of 3-6mo instead. Thoughts? Sorry if this has been asked before :/.
DD lasted in 3-6 the longest, it seemed like. She wasn't in 0-3 for very long at all.

  • DH is in the field tonight and it's nights like this that I'm glad I have a show like Oscar Oasis that I can turn on so DD will completely zone out. Today was pretty relaxed but I'm still tired and handling DD without DH is a challenge.

How has every one been? I feel out of the loop!

  • I'm in a parking lot waiting impatiently for DH to return with TP and dessert. Wtf is taking him so long?

Also, I need to go snack shopping for my dad and DH--they are going to have some forced male bonding time on Saturday putting together the nursery furniture. What snacks should I get?

  • WWA14 do? Attempt to sleep in our bed tonight... Toss and turn because my hips go numb and eventually end up on the couch. Or just start out on the couch. Mind you I pee 7000 times a night and one bathroom is attached to our bedroom upstairs and the other is in the family room downstairs and the couch I sleep on is the middle floor. No bathroom but next to the kitchen..

I have no idea how you can live there. x.x  I grew up in a bowl-shaped valley in western Colorado, and when I moved up here to Wisconsin several years ago to be with my husband since he didn't want to leave his family, I nearly shat myself when I realized they deal with tornadoes up here too.  This past summer we had two really bad tornado-producing storms and I was so scared hearing the sirens that I was nauseous.  :-SS

  • @soultermination I actually suck at living here. I'm the panicked one who freaks every time it hails and would have stayed in the bathtub for the entire week last May. DH is much calmer about it.

Unfortunately because that type of weather is common here they are very good at predicting it. We had at least a two day's notice that the first one was coming. Most people didn't go to work or send their kids to school. But sometimes school is safer if you don't have precautions at home. (Children were lost not because of the storm but because a pipe broke in the basement they were in and they couldn't get out). Usually they are able to tell you which block the storm is on and where it will be going next. Severe weather sirens are everywhere. You hear them all the time. And storm shelters are registered with the city and get checked by emergancy personal ASAP for anyone inside.

As long as you are educated you feel safer. It's amazing how a community comes together in the face of disaster though. It was as if everyone was family during that time.
