Last night was the worst! Both of my kids had trouble sleeping for some reason. I'm used to that with Arlo but G usually sleeps all night no problem. I think it was worse because Saturday night he slept so great and of course today I am back to work for the first time in a few weeks and he was awful. Does anyone else's baby sleep peacefully in their arms and then seem to hit a force field when their back touches the mattress that signals their limbs to start flailing wildly? Or sends out a high pitched baby signal that indicates it's party time? I actually regressed to swaddling last night to just get him back to sleep. Oooof
New service invention: morning nanny. Someone to get your kids up and dressed and to school in the morning. #instantbillionaire

I have always said I needed one of these for the morning after a good night out or party. I mean I don't really get to go as wild as I want when I inevitably know I will have to be up by 6:30ish!
I'm with @VASC in camp put kid in own room from the beginning. Not because I think my way is best, but honestly because I truly think it works. My kids aren't the type of kids to fall asleep when h or I are anywhere in the same vicinity, and now they both know beds are for bed time. They associate their bed with sleep. I really hope they start sleeping for you guys soon, because I know how exhausting it can be.

Our crib seems to have been built with this force field as well. It's so frustrating. The wake ups wouldn't bother me so much if it didn't take 8 tries to get him back in his crib each time. I actually like the motn snuggles sometimes, but then I want to go back to sleep!
So instead of picking up the chicken, she came over to put it into the oven for us. She's going to come back this afternoon to pull it apart when it's finished. And I quote " anything for my boy."
@libberlulu can I ask why you are against them mixing cereal with veggies? I do a mix of homemade and store bought food. I find the store bought stuff is very runny so I always add some oat cereal to it. I don't want her to get used the runny texture and refuse my homemade stuff. I also like that she gets some of the fortified vitamins from the cereal.
All that said. If you want to avoid rice cereal our pedi told us to skip it because anything rice could make LO constipated (since we already have our poop issues, we do oatmeal) so you can mention that to your DCP.
As a BTDT I wish I had more advice to offer about the sleepless babies. Neither of my girls went through a regression or had troubles STTN. I've even been trying to read up on it. I can only offer advice from my own experiences. Maybe drop the MOTN feedings and place them in a separate space from you. I also try to feed Harper as much as humanly possibly her last feed lol. Mom of the year ova heres.
DD has been in her crib since about 2 months old, goes down drowsy but awake, and still gives us multiple wake ups some nights. However, I guess things could have been a lot worse if we didn't have these "good" habits.
@cricket81 I know, right?! I just wish I could go back a month when I would feed him, although 3x-4x a night but be done with it in like 15 mins max. @jancandance I feed my kid like a moose all.day.long. We even did a 10:30 before we went to bed bottle of 6 oz of formula to try and stretch his sleep out but nope, up at 1:30 and demanding a whole boob, I'm guessing about 5 oz from what I usually pump and how full I was. The kid a bottomless pit!!!! He weighs over 20 lbs. I may just make him steak and a baked potato tonight and hope for the best!
@NikkiP15 I say nothing. I've learned that you can't argue with crazy. She actually has a lot of really nice attributes but when she gets an idea in her head you can't get very far with her.
I stand by what I said before. When older people retell stories of when they had kids, I feel like they only remember when their kids were self entertaining and not at this age where they need all of our attention. No one wants to remember these days of takeout and frozen meals.
Has anyone had success freezing avocado? They were on sale and I totally over-bought. I can just eat them, but I'd rather save them to use for LO somehow.
I have a confession...I have a favorite bubble guppies song lol the solar system song is just so catchy! I recorded this episode so I could have it on the DVR for when I want to watch it in the future.
@catikat80, my LO is doing this too. He has never cared about being placed back in his crib after MOTN feedings now it's suddenly traumatic. I'm wondering if its separation anxiety? I used to wake up and be back in bed within 20 min now it's more like an hour or an hour and a half after all the fails attempts. So frustrating and exhausting hope this phase ends soon. And let me know if you find anything that helps please.
@subliminalrabbit, I think E is born the same week as my LO. There is definitely something going on with these guys. It's exhausting. I'm thinking about trying a small stuffed animal or lovey for naps and see how he does. I ready to wear it in your bra(of course you couldn't do this at work)!

::goes off to stuff A&A security blankies in bra::
@ColieAnn31 I always say that Bubble Guppies songs drive me nuts, but really they're catchy and I find myself singing them all.the.time. I love the one that goes, "haircut WHOOP WHOOP, everybody get your hair cut today, WHOOP WHOOP!" lololol
@Cricket81 I freeze avocados and they hold up pretty well. I just cut it in half and put a piece of saran wrap over the fruit part and then put them in a freezer Ziploc bag. The saran wrap keeps the air from turning them all brown.
