We moved into our house 3 1/2 years ago. Before mister came along we never had the heat higher than 60* except in the den where it would be 66*. Now we keep everything at 66*. Today it is so cold (live on Long Island with a high of 12*) the upstairs won't read higher than 63*. I don't know how I ever survived when it was 60*.

We officially have a tooth, people!! I thought I felt one weeks ago, but I was wrong. Now instead of saying "teething?" I'm saying "teething! FML!!", with great certainty. There is a light at the end of this long, dark, sleepless tunnel.

Why doesn't the bump have a baby food board? It would just make sense to have a specific board like they do for breastfeeding, cloth diapering, etc.

Anyways, how did you know hen your LO was ready to move from eating once a day to more often than that? I'm not decreasing nursing in any way.

I just started offering it twice yesterday. It took her several weeks to get used to solids. Now that she's getting the hang of the morning meal (and enjoys it) I figure it doesn't hurt to offer another meal in the afternoon. I'm just letting her lead based on her interest.

Big red flags going up with my job today.  I signed my contract 2 years before I started the job and the hospital had fired its CEO, hired an interim, and then hired a permanent CEO before I actually started.  Well today, the current CEO submitted his resignation effective immediately.  We're all in the dark about exactly what's going on...I'm seriously concerned about the long-term viability of this job   UGH

I just saw a big ass spider coming from near my fire place. It scared the shit out of me and I even screamed (not typical).  Now I want to star a fire to burn any of the now-deceased spider's friends or relatives.

And my fat cat did NOTHING during this ordeal. My other cat that recently died would have gotten him long before I even laid my eyes on him.  Lazy!

@thetamedshrew, yay! Doesn't it at least feel good to know she wasn't just acting like that for no reason? I told DH I can deal with sleepless nights much better if I know they won't last too long. Hope she sleeps better tonight and watch out for your nips! 8-}

@gigglejiggle we have bacon on the stove right now and the smell is making it very hard to keep from eating it the second it comes out of the pan! Super crispy bacon is my absolute favorite.

We had been giving him one meal a day for a month, tried a bunch of foods, and he was doing really well with all of them. Plus, we had our 6 month appointment very late (almost 7 months), and the pediatrician said he was ready for two meals based on our discussion.

aw thanks for thinking of me!! I am friggin swamped at work. I just finished up a project yesterday and am now working on one that originally had a deadline of next Friday but now wants to be reviewed by our North American Board of Directors(!!) by THIS Friday...and this is all for our new crazy ass B project manager with whom I do not get along...

I'm so behind guys! I feel like I've been MIA forever but I think it's only been a couple days. Daycare shopping, scheduling interviews, dealing with an uber clingy baby... It is a freaking amazing coincidence that exactly when I begin daycare shopping is when he suddenly becomes Mr. Clingy I want Mommy. Was supposed to talk with a recruiter today. Couldn't bc I had zero free time. Supposed to talk to another prospective employer. Couldn't bc I had zero free time. I have an interview tomorrow for which I basically advertised my baby on Facebook like a Craigslist ad in need of help watching him. Desperate times. Mom of the year over here. Didn't get to eat today bc the taco I was eating got slapped out of my hand by my baby who I was simultaneously feeding, after changing in the jack in the box parking lot. I'd just like to move on from the last couple days please and thank you....

What have I missed over the last couple days? I haven't read all the words yet. Not sure ill get a chance to.

@all the bumpies, I'm proud of you got working that situation with beary out. She really hasn't done anything to us.

I'm off to bed even though it is only 7:30. I'm super exhausted. I forgot what working plus being a mommy was like. This is just as hard as my SAHM gig. Gah. How do we do it? Not to mention I'm pregnant. What was I thinking, again? Oh, yea. I'm getting old. I needed to get on it. Sleep tight, bumpies. Same for the LO's.

After climbing into bed finally I realized I didn't eat dinner . Guess that's what happens when your hubby surprises you with the news that he has to stand a board tom for Sailor if the Quarter and he needs his uniform re-pressed and starched, his new rank and ribbons put on, and pants re-hemmed. All an hour before he needs to leave for work. Than he sits down eats dinner with our DD and realizes by the time he is done that he needs to take a shower and shave before work ASAP because he needs to leave for work in 15 mins. So while he is doing that I brew his coffee and get it ready, fix him a water bottle, pack his lunch, put it all in his backpack and even went out and started the car to warm it up since it's so cold! Top all that off that I then had to clean the kitchen (can't sleep right if it's messy) and do LOs nighttime routine (which my hubby normally does).

Sorry that turned into a rant/vent or whatever you wanna call it. So now a question.... Do I go eat something at 945 at night or just say screw it and go to bed hungray?

Eat @riansmommie. Whenever I go to bed hungry all my dietary choices are terrible the next day.

Good point! I do eat horrible the next day if I go to bed hungry as well. Hopefully my LO finishes nursing so I can go heat something up.

Lots of babies are not sleeping, seems like teeth or the moon being too close to earth or something like that. Not so much the stomach bug this week. Beary ghostly or whatever her name is apparently had her baby in May and had lots of drama with may13 before getting a new screen name and coming over here. At first glance, it looked like that was too much drama and j13 didn't want her around. Turns out, it wasn't as big as a deal as it seemed and we want her to stay. There were other various things like MIL drama and the usual. We thought Rabbit may lose her job, but she didn't! It's freezing everywhere!!!!

Seems my kid was on the no sleep solution plan as well. Keeps waking up just needing consoling or readjusted. What's up with that?! I think teething, too. But damn, we already have 4, which came in pairs. Can I get a friggin' break already?! Just eating once a night now, though, so one step forward there.

So glad to hear rabbit didn't lose her job! Poor soul- That's scary!! Did we all rejoice by drinking together?! I know she could sure use it considering this little hiccup followed the rabbit-house-plague-athon.

@riannasmommie my solution in that case is always grab something I can eat in bed, that ways at least I'm still in bed And leave something like crackers or nuts (in a edition to my usual glass of water) that I can grab in the middle of the night in reach. While BFing I find I often need a snack to get back to sleep in the middle of the night.
