I just stumbled upon a thread of a mom's decision to abort her baby at 23 weeks after finding out he had DS... Made me sad for a couple different reasons.
That is very sad for many reasons! On the bump??
I think I saw the same one. She was part of A14, right? I had a hard time with that post.
Where is this? I'm up in the dark on the couch i need reading material , a good ugly cry usually gets me to sleep

@mrscrcalli On the Loss board, maybe on like page 3. If you're looking for a good cry though, I don't know if you'll find it on that thread. But maybe that's just me.

I remember her posting on A14 about waiting on results of testing to see if baby has DS or other trisomy. She had said she would love the baby no matter what so I was surprised and sad to see that she decided to terminate once she found out baby had DS. Just so sad.

That cold I successfully fended off last week, is here now. We're supposed to go visit DH's friend that's 2 hours away today. We'll see how bad it gets :-/
I still can't decide if Colorful Coco is for real...but if she is, it's really saying something that the 14 year old looking for car seat recommendations was able to articulate her post more eloquently than her... Insert Maniacal laughter here: :-))
Today is my husband's 33rd birthday! I just finished making his cake. It's called "Double Dip Caramel Cake" and the recipe is from the book, Vintage Recipes.
Now I need to go back to sleep before the baby makes me eat it.
I love waking up before DH drinking coffee and catching up on the bump. Had my first dream about being a mom to peanut and what he would look like. HUGE head...awesome.
Also as a FTM I have no idea how post delivery goes. Is it totally unrealistic to think I'll be sleeping on my stomache right away?
We got home last night after 4 days out of town and the freezer door was wide open. Everything in the freezer was very cold, but thawed. I put some of the stuff that I thought would still be okay in the fridge, and threw the stuff that I wasn't sure about away. What a waste.
Today my mom is hosting a shower for me (really don't care if it's tacky, I don't think I'd have any friends who would and it's nice to see everyone when you don't live close). I'm excited to see everyone!

I don't think it's tacky for your mom to throw you a shower. Have fun!!!

When I was younger I left our freezer door opened. It was a stand up freezer full of meat. It ruined it all but my mom was able to file a claim with our insurance company and they paid her for the value of all the meat. I have no idea how that works but if you lost a bunch of stuff you might write it down and call about it.
Luckily the expensive stuff like all the meat was in the back and stayed very cold and looks fine. I didn't lose enough that I'll bother filing a claim, but wasting food makes me sad. I almost cried when I threw away my black cherry ice cream.
My mom told me that my aunt wants to throw me a big shower, but she wants to wait until after baby is here because my aunt and uncle will be here. If that's the case and that's the only shower I'll get, I don't know that I want one. I don't know my aunt and uncle (and what I do know, I don't like) - it's not like I'm close with them and they just happen to live far away. It's weird to me to hold off on a shower for people I don't even know. I hope my mom will tell her this and she will change her mind.

Just depends. If you end up with a CS you might not be comfortable doing that. But otherwise you might be fine. I'm not a stomach sleeper, so I can't relate. But also your boobs will dictate some too. Big engorged BFing boobs might not be comfy to stomach sleep on either.
Colleen you're like the wise old owl about having babies on this board.. How did you get this much knowledge. Just from having DS or did you read books?? You seriously have the inside scoop in it! 8->

Totally a stomach sleeper here... I literally could not wait, and tried at the hospital after DS was born. I awoke to rock hard boobs in the middle of the night and had to make my way down to the nicu to see my baby for some relief. It took about a week for me to comfortably be able to sleep on my belly again

We have one toy for LO - a stuffed soft monkey. Our dog keeps trying to take it and looks so confused as to why she can't have it. "BUTTT WHHYYY!? IT IS JUST LIKE MY OTHER ONES!!!"
My boyfriend fired up the grill! I fucking love the smell of charcoal burning and I think he's making his bomb ass chicken that I love so much. I think his cooking is what made me fall in love with him jk
I'm felling so over whelmed! I had mentioned befor that Zeb and I are going to build a house.. I didn't think having a baby was enough work. We will be moving in to Zeb's mom's house in the spring. I want to start organizing and packing so I'm not doing it all at 9 months, but I don't know. Where to start. I have packed up the Christmas decorations. But would like to start on not needed house items. I feel like I have so much to do with the new house, selling and packing the old house, and having a baby. You would think being a ex military wife I would find this easy.
We were planning to have chicken tonight but forgot to move it from the freezer to the fridge last night. Well, DH threw the frozen chicken on the counter and it sat there for a few hours before I put it in the fridge.
It should still be okay right? I have been lectured many times by my mom about how horrible it is to defrost on the counter but it was only a couple hours and still pretty frozen by the time I put it in the fridge.
