Re: Introductions

  • Introduce yourself: I’m Dana, a 30 year old mom from Manitoba, Canada.

    Due date? Sept. 18, 2022

How did you find out? We were not trying/not preventing, but I had a strong feeling that I might be pregnant right around the New Year. A few days later, Jan. 4, I took a test because I had sore boobs that day and BAM. A distinct faint line!

Tell us about yourself: At 19, I became a single mom to the most kind hearted boy. He’s been my biggest cheerleader as I worked my way through university, started my career, and has been by my side as I learned how to be a mom while still growing up myself.
My partner and I have been together for 4 years next month. Shortly after meeting, we got pregnant unexpectedly and our relationship became very serious her fast, but we lost that baby with a late first term MMC. After that loss, we knew we definitely wanted to have another child and started TTC for our toddler, who is a hilarious 2.5 boy.
We also have three cats, and we just bought out house last year. As a family, we’re very sports oriented and love spending time outdoors when it isn’t too cold!
I work in marketing, and am working on plans to exclusively WFH and be a SAHM after maternity leave.

How are you feeling? My first appointment is at the 12 week mark, but I did go to the ER for some mild spotting around 7 weeks. Thankfully all is well and I saw baby and their HB on the screen. Measuring right on track for my guess date! The spotting stopped a few days later, and the nurse said it was likely just baby nestling in to the uterine lining to stay. 💗
I’ve been dealing with extreme exhaustion and the most intense nausea of any of my past pregnancies. Beyond that, things are mild, but I’ve already got a bit of a bump going! The third baby definitely shows different. Lol.

GTKY Fun fact: This is a tough one, but I think it would be pasta. There’s so many varieties and options that I think I could do it. 🍝

  • Introduce yourself: I'm 43 with a surprise 5th pregnancy

Due date? Sep 26 by U/S

How did you find out? Home test

Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) With my partner for 10 years. We have a 5 year old daughter together, plus I have 3 kids from my previous marriage and he has two from his previous. I'm a registered nurse.

How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?) Still a bit disbelieving that this will progress normally at my age. Still N&V, dead tired. Seeing the OB tomorrow.

GTKY Fun fact: Tell us what you would choose if you could only eat one thing forever. Tuna with mayo
    puppiesandbabies
  • @mmoli79 I'm also 43.  There are a couple other 40+ in this BMB as well.
    Current pregnancy -
First BFP on 1/4/22.  Due date 9/13/22.

Four prior losses, no living children - 1 first trimester miscarriage, 1 blighted ovum, 1 chemical, and one extreme premature live birth daughter who died at 15 days old.

  • Introduce yourself: I’m Savannah. I’m 25 and have been married to my husband since September❤️(Together 5 years before that).

    Due date? 9/30/22

How did you find out? My stomach started to feel a bit off, every single night for four days, and then I was very nauseous one day and decided to take a test and it was positive. Because of my history of the chemical pregnancy I waited a few weeks before calling my doctor. I got bloodwork at what I now know to be 6w1d (HCG 78,000 which seemed a little high) but slightly calmed my nerves.

Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) No children. 2 cats and 2 dogs. I’m a pediatric occupational therapist. I have the most incredible husband in the world and my hobbies include: cooking with him, hiking, working out, traveling, reading, and watching singing shows.

How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?): I had an ultrasound at exactly 8 weeks confirming that there was only one in there thank goodness 🙏🏼 The baby had a HR of 161 and I can’t wait to go back in a few weeks and hopefully continue to here more good news. I had a chemical pregnancy in December 2021 and consequently am having a hard time not being concerned. Emotionally I fluctuate between anxious and hopeful/excited. My symptoms come and go, though the nausea has decreased quite a bit and my stomach only feels off at night and some mornings. I still have sore/tender breasts. And it doesn’t take much for me to feel like I need a nap😅.

GTKY Fun fact: Tell us what you would choose if you could only eat one thing forever.
A tough one but probably tacos 🌮 or Mexican food in general, especially since this baby apparently isn’t a fan of my typical red sauce and garlic combo😅

  • Introduce yourself: Hello! I'm Amy, 30 years old and live in Texas with my husband. Im a FTM.

    Due date? Sept 8!

How did you find out? Felt the implantation cramps before and during Christmas Day and took a pregnancy test the day after Christmas. Came back a strong positive! :D

Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) I am married to my husband of 6 months, been together for 7 years now. I also have a little parrot who's been with me for 20 years, my oldest friend! I enjoy hiking, fishing and bird watching with my husband. I also enjoy knitting and embroidery.

How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?) I had my first appt at 8 weeks. Baby was right where it should be with a normal heart beat :)
Currently feeling good, nausea is slowly going away. My appetite is increasing a little more too. I still have some food aversions that I'm hoping will go away one day.

GTKY Fun fact: Tell us what you would choose if you could only eat one thing forever. California Burritos. The best.
    1stbabydue0912puppiesandbabies
  • @babyemommy2022 we're in some what similar positions wrt birthdays and due dates. My due date is 9/25 and my birthday is 9/28. It should make for an interesting birthday, one way or another!

    bird_lady I'm curious...what makes a California Burrito a California Burrito? :)
    First time mom-to-be, due 9/25/22

Some complicated chromosomal stuff going on - our fingers are crossed, but this may not go according to plan!

  • @lilienne they are usually giant (like I can make two or three meals out of one lol) and made with carne asada, French fries, guac, sour cream, salsa, and shredded cheese. No beans or rice.
I used to live in San Diego ( where they originate from!) and they are still my favorite thing to eat. They have veggie versions too that I’ve had but nothing beats the traditional carne asada lol
    foreveronyourside
  • @bird_lady that sounds delicious!

Introduce yourself: I'm a 31 year old college prof and I have been with my husband for 11 years so we are feeling it is finally time for us after too many years of grad school!

Due date? September 21 (not confirmed by doctor yet)

How did you find out? Had been trying for about 5 months and realized that I was a day late even though I have been on time or early since I went off birth control. Took (a few) at home tests, and ta-da!

Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) This is my first baby, but we have one fur baby, a sweet old lady kitty. I teach college courses which I really enjoy and my hobbies include cooking/baking, needle crafts, and too many nerdy podcasts.

How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?): Feeling okay right now at 11 weeks, had a fair amount of nausea in the last month that has mostly abated, continuing crazy heartburn, sore breasts, and taking so many naps! Emotionally we're happy and feeling ready to have a baby, but I'm also on the job market so it is unsettling not knowing where we are going to be by the time the baby arrives!

GTKY Fun fact: Tell us what you would choose if you could only eat one thing forever. Probably bread, honestly. Love good bread.

  • Introduce yourself: Hey everyone! My name is Melissa.

    Due date:
I’m a first time momma due Sept 1 with my rainbow babe.

    How did you find out:
It was a tough TTC journey, taking nearly two years. We lost our first baby in the summer and have been patiently waiting for our rainbow baby. We were on vacation and saw a rainbow in the sky on Christmas Eve. Took a pregnancy test 10 mins later and it was positive!!!

    Tell us about yourself:
I’m 27, Canadian, and a high school teacher! The hubby and I have been married for nearly 3 years.

    How are you feeling:
I’m a big ol mix of anxiety and happiness all at once. Pregnancy after loss is a different beast entirely. First trimester nausea hit me hard, but is now gone. Overall, I am just very grateful to be pregnant!

Things run a little different in Canada. It seems our ultrasounds and “finding things out” are a bit later that USA. For example, I don’t get to learn the sex til 20 weeks.
    ciscothedog2018puppiesandbabiesmaple1422
  • @melyrae the USA likes lots of ultrasounds😜 I'm from the states but currently live in Norway where we typically will only have one ultrasound between 17-19 weeks for the anatomy scan. It's pretty typical in the states also to find out the sex at the anatomy scan unless you opt to get the NIPT testing done around 12 weeks in which they can determine sooner.
    melyrae
  • @melyrae that is so sweet that you saw a rainbow in the sky right before your positive test! Congratulations and welcome :)
    melyraemaple1422
  • Introduce yourself:  Hi everyone! I am 38 and live in WA although originally from the DMV area. This is my first child, and my husband's 2nd!  I went through 2 rounds of IVF and ended up conceiving our child spontaneously!!

    Due date? 19 September

How did you find out? We were supposed to have another egg retrieval for IVF and my cycle never came.  My RE did bloodwork and called to tell me I was pregnant!

Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) 1 stepson that will graduate hs this year! I work as an analyst. We like to golf, watch sports, hike.

How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?)  I'm feeling bloated and constipated. Lol.  Aside from that, I'm doing okay!

GTKY Fun fact: Tell us what you would choose if you could only eat one thing forever. Pizza for sure!
    kboydbowmanpuppiesandbabies
  • @melyrae that is the most beautiful story about the rainbow on Christmas Eve! Made me emotional! Happy for you!

  • Introduce yourself: I am a STM with a 9 month old daughter, I live in Canada and am still on my 18 month mat leave haha. My husband is 24 and I am 26, we want a large family and children close together.

    Due date? September 29 2022

How did you find out? We were trying and I feel like I knew as soon as it happened but waited until the first day after my period should have started and we got a positive test. Also my dog is a free pregnancy indicator she got really cuddly again like when I was pregnant with my first.

Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) I really enjoy cooking and trying out new recipes(they don’t always please me but it’s fun to do) I also enjoy running with my dog. I was a chemical laboratory technician but I am not sure if I will return to work after all this as we would like to homeschool.

How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?) I feel nausea everyday and I have only vomited twice thank goodness, nothing like my first pregnancy, I am 10 weeks today and I can’t wait for the fatigue and nausea to ease up (hopefully)

GTKY Fun fact: Tell us what you would choose if you could only eat one thing forever. My grandmothers spaghetti, I don’t know what she does but it’s amazing

  • Introduce yourself: I'm Tanvi, from Atlanta. I’m 34 years old.

    Due date? September 25th

    How did you find out?
We had just started trying to get pregnant and I just started feeling really tired with sore boobs. So I checked early!

    Tell us about yourself:
I have 3 year old boy. My husband and I started dating in high school and have been together since! We moved to the US from India in 2012. I’m currently a SAHM but hoping to go back to work soon.

    How are you feeling?
I’m feeling much better than I was, in terms of nausea and fatigue. It’s still there, but not too bad. I was very anxious too (my first pregnancy ever was an ectopic) but I got to see my baby yesterday on ultrasound and that’s made me feel significantly better!

    GTKY Fun fact:
If I could eat only one thing forever, it would be Pani Puri. If you like Indian food and haven’t tried this yet, I highly recommend you do!

Hello my name is Cristina. I am 29 years old and married to my 32 year old husband for almost 3 years now.
This is our first baby and we are ecstatic but nervous.
I am due Sept 1st according to my doctor.

I took multiple home tests when I found out. And surprised my husband on X-mas with the test and a baby onesie as a gift!

I have 2 cats at home and am a licensed clinical social worker. I enjoy being a homebody but also love dancing salsa, hiking, and being around family.

As I recently joined TH I am now 14 weeks and doing a lot better symptoms wise than the first trimester. I am now less nauseous and have more energy.

If I could only eat one thing it would probably be spicy chicken wings! I can eat those non stop!

Happy to be a part of this group 😊
    lilienne1stbabydue0912
  • Welcome @tiniher!  I'm a licensed clinical psychologist, so it's nice to have more MH folk.
    Current pregnancy -
First BFP on 1/4/22.  Due date 9/13/22.

Four prior losses, no living children - 1 first trimester miscarriage, 1 blighted ovum, 1 chemical, and one extreme premature live birth daughter who died at 15 days old.

  • @tiniher I’m a LCSW too! I work in the schools full time and have a p/t private practice.
  • My name is Heidi, and I’m pregnant for number 3 :)

    Due date? September 8

How did you find out? I found out by peeing in a stick in the bathroom at Home Depot - I couldn’t stand waiting until I got home, haha.

Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) I am a SAHM of two kids - 6 and 3.5, both born at home without complication. I’m 33 and husband is 34.

How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?) I’m currently pregnant with twins, although signs are pointing to baby B not making it so it is veeerrrry complicated and it has been a long waiting game!

GTKY Fun fact: Tell us what you would choose if you could only eat one thing forever. Sausage egg and cheese breakfast sandwich, happily

    Hey Mamas 👋

Introduce yourself: FTM Mom here! I thought I had already introduced myself but that may have been in a different forum. Nevertheless, pls see below 👇

    Due date? 24SEP22

How did you find out? I received my BFP on the 16th of January. I was in shock and took probably 12 test just to confirm 😅

Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) My husband & I are dual military. I'm a SFC in the Army & have been in for 10 years. The only other babies I have our my furbabies - Zoey (Husky) & Sadie (Mini Aussie). Tbh, I never saw myself as being a Mom so I am a little nervous about it all. I love to read & try new wines (obvi not now). I'm currently in school working on my Bachelors Degree in Human Services - I hope I can keep up!

How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?) ATM, I don't really have any symptoms. It's been that way for about 2 wks now. I may get some breast tenderness here and there & an occasional headache but that's it. I would get nauseous if I haven't eaten yet but not now. So of course, this has me a little nervous but when I had an US at 10wks, the baby was just fine so I try to keep that same positive mindset. Nevertheless, I have my next appt. on the 14th for the NT scan - I hope all goes well 🤞

GTKY Fun fact: Tell us what you would choose if you could only eat one thing forever. Hmmm... I'm from the South so give me all the Southern cooking 🤤

Oops! I missed this page! Lol
Introduce yourself: I’m Steph - I am 32 years old - from Ontario, Canada 🇨🇦

    Due date? September 23

How did you find out? I just had that mothers intuition- took a test a few days before my missed period and found the faintest line! Then kept taking tests for a week! Lol

Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) I am a full time working mama - married to my husband for 3 years and together 13 going on 14. We have two boys 6 & 4. This will be number 3! Suffered a  miscarriage and an ectopic pregnancy in 2021 so we are relieved to find out baby so far is healthy!

How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?) I had early ultrasounds to rule out ectopic. I have heard the heart beat at my first OB appointment a week ago! It was magic ♥️ My nausea is starting to let up thankfully and exhaustion and cravings are in full swing! Bring on the sour candies lol

GTKY Fun fact: I hate winter and counting down the days until we can lay out in the sun by the pool ☀️ And if I could eat one thing forever it would be most definitely be pizza 🍕
  • Introduce yourself: Hello! I must admit that I’ve been lurking without posting for a while :). Figured it was time to jump in.

    Due date? 9/19

How did you find out? My period is very regular, if it doesn’t start on day 28 then I run out for tests.

Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?)

I’m currently SAHM to my 2.5 yr old, 6 yr old, and 8 yr old. I also babysit a few days a week for a friend who has a 4 yo and 7 yo. I was a middle school teacher until my third was born.  My husband and I have been married for 12 years and we also have a one year old Lab pup.

How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?)

    TW

It’s been a rough first trimester. Im always v anxious until 7 weeks because I’ve had several chemical pregnancies and two losses in the 5th/6th week.  This time, two close friends had miscarriages (one went in at 7 week ultrasound to no heartbeat and the other had a great ultrasound at 8 weeks only to have severe cramping and bleeding at 9 weeks) since I tested positive and it has greatly increased my anxiety. However, I had a good ultrasound at 8 weeks am looking forward to my 12 wk appt in a few days. Physically, I feel pretty terrible but I don’t throw up just nauseous and very very tired. This is my fourth baby and I had zero symptoms with my first two and some nausea for about two weeks with my third. I’ve been feeling pretty horrible from morning until evening from weeks 7 til now. I guess I’m just old now and my body is letting me know?!

GTKY Fun fact: Tell us what you would choose if you could only eat one thing forever.

How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?)
I lost my first pregnancy last summer so I've been super nervous for most of my pregnancy so far -- only after reaching 12 weeks have I really started to feel confident! Plus my nausea has finally subsided, which is really great. I had an 8 week ultrasound and will soon find out the gender from my blood test!

  • Hello and welcome to the September 2022 BMB!

Introduce yourself: Hi everyone! My names Ashley and I’m 30 years old.

    Due date? 9/26

How did you find out? I took an at home test, which ended up being positive and then when and got my blood work done for HCG. :)

Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) I’m a middle school counselor. I’ve been married for 2 years, but I’ve been with my hubby for 6 years. We have a 1 year old baby girl! She is a busy bee! 1 German shepherd and 3 cats. Things I like to do or have time to do? Haha. I love to travel (no time), love to read, love to hike and go on adventures, and I enjoy hanging out with my family and friends.

How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?) I’m extremely happy for the new addition in our family! Nervous because I had a miscarriage before this little one. First appointment- was at 6 weeks and baby boo boo had s heart beat of 122 bpm! Second appt. Was good as well. I get sharp pains but that’s normal according to doc. Been getting sick constantly (flu, respiratory colds, covid) Other than that I’ve been good!

GTKY Fun fact: Tell us what you would choose if you could only eat one thing forever. Spaghetti and meatballs! But honestly, I would miss all my other favs!
  • ntroduce yourself: hi! I’m Nicki, I’m 35

    Due date? Sept 26

How did you find out? Has been tracking my periods pretty closely so knew it was time to take a test. Was surprised since I had only been off birth control for 2 months.

Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) first baby but have a 12 year old pug. My husband, Joe, and I live on Philadelphia and both work in pharma

How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?) physically I think I’ve been lucky, I have felt pretty normal! Just tired mostly. Still trying to wrap my head around the fact that we are going to have an actual baby!

GTKY Fun fact: Tell us what you would choose if you could only eat one thing forever. Curly fries!

  • Hi!
    Just introducing myself.
I’m a 36 year old second time mom expecting a baby boy. Due date is Sept 11/22. I have a 2.5 year old daughter at home.
I had two miscarriages before my daughter, followed by two more miscarriages before this pregnancy. Super thankful to be out of the first trimester! Out of all of my first trimesters (6 of them 🥴), this was definitely the worst! The anxiety after miscarriages is just unreal, though I’m finding it much more manageable now that I’m in the second trimester.
I own my own in home daycare and am so thankful I get to spend my days with my daughter, she is just amazing! Looking forward to being able to do the same with our second.

    First time mom-to-be, due 9/25/22

Some complicated chromosomal stuff going on - our fingers are crossed, but this may not go according to plan!
