Whew, what a whirlwind weekend that was. Thank you everyone for your lovely sentiments. I'm just so touched by the outpouring of support.

I'll come back to post my proposal story later (because it's a goodie, tbh) but in the meantime some of us over in WTO were discussing starting a monthly RE Support Thread. I don't know how these things work but do we need to vote on it? Any suggestions/comments on what  should be included in the intro? 

I was thinking something that could be a mix of what's included in the IF/TTCAL/daily threads like:

Cycle/Month: 
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA):
Date of first/next appointment?: 
How are things going? What is something that you are struggling with this week? What is going well for you this week? R/R?:
Any questions?:

I like this idea that Kiki is proposing because I feel like there is a weird spot of transition that doesn’t really get captured, and I feel like I’m either bogging down the traditional WTO/TWW boards detailing out stuff or that I’m a newb who’s asking semi-dumb Qs in the IF board.

I think this is a great way to get people together otherwise wouldn't interact. Like I haven't experienced a loss so I don't participate in the TTCAL thread but I'm sure I would meet some lovely ladies

I’m with @chichiphin on this one. I’m not quite at the point of being considered IF, and I haven’t experienced a loss, so would the CS/Q thread be the best place to ask questions specifically about what to expect when starting with an RE? Or even for anyone that has been working with their RE for a while but is starting a new protocol, maybe a dedicated thread would be less intimidating?

I’m also interested in an RE thread. I’m not necessarily infertile but will be starting soon with an RE and really don’t know where to start. I’d love a place to ask my dumb questions without feeling bad or out of place.

@pugmom it is for smaller than presidential elections.  Stuff like governors and such.

@PugMum It's us voting on members of congress, governorship, and other state-wide races. These people are voting on a lot of the laws and can sometimes be that swing vote! I have never been so conflicted voting today because there's one issue that will affect us negatively if a law passes.

@chichiphin thank you for the link! I'm also a clueless Canadian. Another dumb question... up here employers are required by law to give you time off to vote. Is that a thing down there? It sounds like there's all sorts of sketchy voter suppression kinda stuff going on and it makes me so sad.

@kiki047 most of the places I've worked have had something in the employee handbook saying we are allowed to take time off to vote; however, most of my supervisors have also made it clear that we should be able to vote before or after work and it shouldn't interfere with our job so... not sure. There's definitely voter suppression going on in my mind, but I have never personally experienced it.

@kiki047 Whoa, whoa, whoa... I didn't think my question was dumb/nor am I a clueless Canadian? I just legit do not follow the US political system.

@kiki047 I believe it's a requirement to allow us to go to the polls but I'm salaried and work in an office so I'm not sure if that's the case for all industries. My sister is a teacher and BIL said she won't be able to vote because she'll be teaching (left home before the polls opened), then there's some after school meeting and she's also working her tutoring job until 8pm when the polls close. But I was like... I don't think she can get penalized for being late to her tutoring job (which I'm guessing is hourly) to go vote.

I think in Sweden they actually always have election day on a Saturday when the large majority of people don't work and their turnout % is quite large. Most major US elections I think only result in about 50% voting. Smaller elections, like midterm or spring elections is an even smaller %.

I've never experienced not being able to vote during the work day and DH works for a school district and is allowed to leave to vote. We are in PA - not sure if that helps!

@riff323 your supervisor's point is probably that they don't want you leaving in the middle of the work day to go vote which would take up more work time than if you went to the polls before or after work. There's always the early voting or voting by mail too.

@pugmum I'm so sorry!! I didn't mean to imply you were dumb and/or clueless at all! Sometimes I live in a state of blissful ignorance about what's going on around me (or what comes out of my mouth). 

Thank you @riff323 @brookert615 @inthewoods23. I can understand from an employer POV why they would want to encourage people to try to go before/after work or vote early. It's the same here. Plus, for those people who commute to work from far away it isn't like you can just pop out to your local polling station at lunch and cast your ballot. You'd have to get all the way back home.

@kiki047 I think the only exception is if you're in college. My first time voting was in the 2012 election while I was in college and you could vote on campus if you lived in the dorms. My dorm was considered off campus though so I voted at a regular polling station but the school provided a bus to get us to and from.

I just watched the first episode of The Haunting of Hill House because everyone is raving about it. I thought it was kind of boring and some of the acting was off. Does it get better?!
