The way he sees it, he waited 8 years before he gathered up the courage to make a move (well, a series of moves) to do something about it so he doesn't want to wait any longer.

@kiki047 Congratulations!! What a beautiful ring, he did a wonderful job!
@b_1029 the weather in the Tampa area was so bad in the last two hours! I think as of now, all of the tornado warnings have been cancelled, thankfully! The news is saying there was definitely a tornado, images of damage is starting to roll in. @marebear15 hope you weren't near any of the worst of the weather!

@marebear15 and @nolemomma14 I’m in central FL and that weather rolled in around 5pm when I was in dead stop traffic. Thanks, weather alert, for telling me to seek shelter and everything but I’m stuck. Super scary
@MotherofDragons I’m closer to the west coast and we got it around 3pm. It got bad so quick!! We lost some good size branches, and they took out a power line. At least the storms moved through quickly!
My random: My brother and SIL officially announced they are never ever (no really, stop bugging us) having children. My sister in law has always been pretty firm in her stance, but my parents held out hope my brother would change her mind. They are in their 30's, high school sweethearts, finally are getting married and bought a house. My other set of inlaws my SIL is going through a nasty divorce.
@nolemomma14 I was down that way visiting my parents a few years ago and a tornado went right through their neighborhood! It was so scary. Their building was post Charlie, and it was only an F1, so it was fine, but some houses were not. Glad you are (mostly) fine
I have a little predicament and I'm looking for advice. I recently dyed my hair purple-red and then found out I'm losing my job. Now I have to interview for new jobs in the fitness field, and I have an unnatural hair color. Some of my interviews are lined up for the next week, so I don't think I have time to change it. What would you do? I'm thinking of calling attention to it in the interview and just telling the truth: "I dyed my hair when I thought I had a secure job, and I'm willing to change it back to a natural color if it's an issue."
Seriously, this is the problem of an anxious person. It's not like I have a felony I need to explain, but the way my anxiety has ramped up, it might as well be.
@riff323 when you say fitness field, do you mean working outside of a traditional office setting? I personally would not call attention to it/explain it. A lot of folks in my world have more vibrant colors, like reddish purple or very very blonde. I think if you were pink or green you’d need to maybe pit stop at a salon to tone it down a bit, but you’re prob okay here.
@riff323 If you're concerned, you can use color remover. They should have it at your local drugstore or Sally beauty supply. It's kind of an ordeal to go through the process, but it definitely works. It takes maybe 2 hours at home to complete the process. I did it a few years ago without problems. I think I just had to deep condition afterward to help rehydrate my hair.
@chichiphin I'm a personal trainer, but one of the places I'm interviewing at - and the one I REALLY want to work at - has a tendency to be a little more conservative.
@mamanbebe I've stripped my hair before and it was just awful. I'm hoping I don't have to do that, and I really wouldn't want to do it myself. Maybe I should ask my stylist if she can do it for me?
@chichiphin it's not crazy, but I'm super paranoid. I mean let's face it, I'm interviewing for a part-time job. I guess it wouldn't be the end of the world if I didn't get it because they didn't like my hair. But it's an organization I have worked for in the past (albeit in office roles, so my perception is skewed) and I really want to work there again! Pic in spoiler.
@riff323 Coukd you tie it back and wear a headband to maybe mute it? I wouldn’t call attention to it specifically but maybe mention that you really like the organization and are willing to be flexible to meet their standards. So in a veiled way allude to potentially changing it if need be.
@riff323 If it were me, I would see a stylist and have them tone it down, but still leave some of the undertone. A good stylist should be able to give you maroony brown without stripping it, just going over it again. I would just hate for my FIRST impression at somewhere I used to work, trying to get a better position back be "OMG, what did she DO to her hair?" - But I work in a VERY conservative field.
Thank you all for responding! Here's what I did: I went to the place and took a tour, and when I saw a girl working who had purple streaks in her hair, I came clean and told the girl who was doing the tour my predicament. She said she honestly thought my hair would be fine, and said the fitness manager is really laidback. I think I'm just going to take my chances!
