@marijaa333 I’m having a major aversion to chicken too, and normally it’s the only meat I eat. This baby allowed the exception of St. Hubert though! @canuckbaby Mmm perogies!
Ok, that pie was...interesting. Really strong cinnamon and clove, and something almost sour? It wasn't bad but I'm not in a hurry to eat a lot more of it.
@wearyfuzzball I was able to eat a little bit of turkey, a little bit of ham, some mashed potatoes, a few rolls through the afternoon, and about 3 bites of dessert. I almost puked it all up, but took some medicine before that could happen. I’m calling it a win compared to how I have been eating recently!
We had a nice time. The woman who makes pies had a strong showing, including a pecan pie which is basically a giant butter tart with pecans on top! The pumpkin was the best - not too sweet and a bit tangy/not flat (the issue with many pumpkin pies). I have to say I'm pretty lucky when it comes to my in-laws, everyone is super nice and reasonable. Ready to pass out... Happy Thanksgiving!
@marijaa333@canuckbaby a butter tart is a pecan pie minus pecans?! Oh hell yes sign me up. That's my favorite pie in the fall. Add some bourbon to the filling and a layer of ganache on the bottom of the crust and it's the most perfect thing you'll ever eat.
Mmmmmm, pie. I was too full and slightly nauseous to eat pie yesterday and now I'm sad. I want pumpkin pie so badly. My aunt also forgot to make stuffing and gravy, and she almost forgot the buns. I was dissappointed yesterday! Will have to be fulfilling those cravings soon!
That pizza looks great... Mom and I were out at Hobby Lobby and both really wanted a McD's cheeseburger. Forget Thanksgiving leftovers, the McDouble and fries (with an NA beer) are 10000000% better right now.
@011sammie017 Same!! This has been the only consistent breakfast I've been able to eat. I've been cycling through krave, cinnamon toast crunch and fruity pebbles 😂

I've been drinking a lot of smoothies! I don't know that i'm really craving them but they sound delicious and it's nice to try to help fill me. I am so hungry every 2-3 hours so drinking a smoothie seems to help.
Last night and then again today I am craving a good pizza. We have no good pizza shops in town though So the next best thing is a sub but obviously i've been trying not to eat many of those.. ugh!
@pai314 I should try smoothies, that does sound good! I'm only worried about sucking through a straw... I had to stop using my water bottle with a straw cause the sucking made me gag. 🤢
I have been craving Moe's hard core, but there aren't any here. So we went to Chipotle, and it did the job. Except now I want more. Like 3 more....

Okay so are Caesar salads really off the table? My OB didn’t mention it but my coworker, who is also pregnant, said hers said they were a no go. I’ve eaten tons!
@carleym93 there is a massive alert about ecoli in romaine lettuce recently. Not a usual avoidance. My grocery store isnt even selling romaine as a precaution
@canuckbaby No, its actually not because of the lettuce but because of the dressing? She said its made with raw egg (which I never realized) and thats why they said its a no go
@carleym93 if the dressing is made with pasteurized eggs its okay its when its fresh with raw egg yolk its issue. I think the bottled dressing is okay just not fresh
@carleym93 Yeah, some Caesar dressings are made with raw eggs. I’ve heard some, like bottled dressings at the grocery store, are usually safe and don’t contain raw eggs. The ones that are more dangerous tend to be house made ones at restaurants. This is just what I’ve read from a few different articles. I’d definitely do your own research on individual brands, though.
@carleym93 If you buy it off the shelf, you're ok. If you're at a restaurant, ask --generally restaurants use pasteurized eggs when they need to be raw, because of the liability factor of food-borne illness, but probably still worth checking. If it's at a friend's house and she made Ina Garten's fabulous Caesar dressing recipe, if it's a concern, hold off. Likelihood of contaminated eggs is 1 in 10,000 at the high end and 1 in 30,000 at the low end, so unless you're eating a TON of eggs, it's pretty unlikely to affect you anyway. (And if you eat eggs over medium or with the yolk runny at all, it's the same risk.)
On my phone at the moment so apologies for the ugly link (can't figure out how to dress it up via the mobile app) but this article housed and distributed by the US government (but initially published by the College of Family Physicians of Canada) addresses it pretty well: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2860824/
@hopeful-mom-to-be if you like sour, you may like preggie pops if you are experiencing any nausea. They have been pretty helpful for me and come in all sour flavors
@wearyfuzzball I'm going to have to look for those too. I've seen some other ones but they're all fruity and right now that's just a big no. No sweets for me this time give me all the sour and salty stuff!
@battleangel we had the best fish n chips in london last month. there is a place by us that has a haddock and chips special thursday nights might have to hit them up it's so amazing.
