I'm both excited and really sad that everyone else is still having weird nausea attacks. WILL IT EVER END?!?!?!

HAHA. I get this. Like it feels good to know you're not alone but sucks everyone is dealing with it. I didn't really experience much nausea first tri but the past 2 weeks have been rough!

@wkuandrea at this point I think no. I know with DD I had food issues the whole time but I don’t remember the nausea lasting this long. Mine is way better than it was but still not where I would like it to be. And the worst part is that it’s so unpredictable.

@CoastieGirl79 @saltedcaramel518 yeah, lots of discharge here too. It seemed to ramp up around the second tri start. I was going to ask the midwives about it at the next appointment to make sure it's normal and not a yeast infection or BV.

Anyone dealing with pregnancy rhinitis? I've been pretty congested, all day and especially at night. I've had it the whole pregnancy but it's worse now. Also having nosebleeds, and when I blow my nose more clots get dislodged and it bleeds again. Sorry for the visual  :|

@merostomata I've felt tlike I've had a cold this whole pregnancy and didn't even think about it being pregnancy related at all. I sneeze and have to blow my nose all the time. I've had some blood when I blow but no bloody noses yet.

And yes to the discharge as well. I hate it.

Edited to add the worst part about the runny nose is most of it drops down my throat and the mucus makes me throw up. Especially when brushing my teeth. I hope it ends soon.

+1 here for congestion and sneezing. Hubby asks where all the tissues and toilet paper go... Grr.

RLP is crap. I've been getting it since the end of the first trimester and would love for it to go away now. Sigh.

Midwife thinks I might have a mild UTI and suggested attempting to flush it with cranberry tablets. Been doing that, but I don't think it's working... So I guess onto antibiotics I will go.

Haha my god. No one tells you all this stuff about pregnancy before it happens.

Another +1 for the sneeze attacks. I just bought 2 new air purifiers for the house but I know they only do so much. The congestion sucks!

SAME. They are horrendous when I first wake up. Eating and coffee usually help, but I felt hung over every single morning for the past week and a half.

@mandamay1414 I always have the hardest time in the mornings too. I just feel like my head is pounding and my heart is racing. It’s brutal. I remember my OB last time told me weeks 14-22 are the worst for headaches and that’s been true for me so far each time.

16+2 today and the migraines are killing me. In the last 2-3 weeks, I've had more migraine days than migraine-free days. And I can't take anything for them. Almost impossible to function. And the gas, omg, the gas. Last night I was doubled over with gas pains that would not subside. Brutal.

@tosh24 the gas is brutal! My lower stomach is soooooo bloated and uncomfortable. And I’m not eating gassy food either!

@ers7924 unfortunately mine did last several weeks with DD. I don’t think it went all the way to 22 weeks. But I would say like at least 14-18 maybe even 20 with bad headaches on and off.

The indigestion is KILLING me this week. I feel the bile coming up into my throat almost immediately when I eat or drink anything and I'm pretty over it.
  • Options
@saltedcaramel518 hope ya feel better. Are you on antibiotics?

Still having food adversion. Raw chicken is my nemesis. Can't look at it, can't touch, can't cook with it. If it's breaded and baked I can handle it. Frozen veggies are also grossing me out. When I eat veggies they have to be raw or fresh and then cooked.

@kaf1788 that sounds awful. Do Tums offer any relief?

Having a bad case of round ligament pain on my lower left. Ahhhh. I don’t recall having it this bad before. Ironically it came on right as the clock hit 12 AM meaning I’m 14 weeks. I was so happy to finally dance on our 2nd tri thread but I feel weirdly bruised w random shooting pains here and there so I’m going to sleep. Dance party in the morning tho and hoping this isn’t anything serious than just round ligament pain.

@CoastieGirl79 I had problems with chicken through my whole pregnancy with DD. Yesterday I made chicken salad and was gagging at the smell (even though I feel 90% better now). Frozen veggies are also a no go for me. I make them for DD sometimes but they repulse me.

@saltedcaramel518 good to know- I'm definitely going to ask about this at my appt next week to make sure. Hope you feel better soon!

Anyone else feeling some quickening?? I think I *might* have started this week, and it's kind of a random tickling sensation from a small point within the uterus. It'll last on and off for a few minutes. Never felt anything like it before- it seriously tickles sometimes and I'll have to scratch! I'm 16 weeks tomorrow-I keep rounding up ;) Seems early but I have no idea what else it might be.

  • Options
@merostomata yes! I’m 13 weeks and can feel the baby. I’d probably tell anyone else they’re crazy for saying they can feel the baby this early, but there’s definitely some tickling going on. I felt DS around 15/16 weeks.

Question: is anyone constipated? Are you taking anything for it?

The issue with not pooping for so long is that when it does happen, oooh my god it's like giving mini birth! I have absolutely no interest in experiencing that again, so I'm absolutely religious about magnesium, water, and fibre. A daily dump puts a smile on my face.

16 weeks tomorrow too! I’ve been feeling babe move for a few weeks but I’m a STM, they say you can tell earlier second time around. I felt my first at 17 weeks so probably what you are feeling!

Has anyone felt baby move from outside? Last night I thought I could feel wiggles with a hand on my belly.

Over the last few days I was worried maybe I was getting early gestational diabetes. I was super fatigued, kind of naseous, dizzy, sort of funky vision, etc. But I realized it's just because I cut out my single cup of coffee. It's helping me sleep but it was painful the first few days. I also wasn't eating enough. I'm now waking up a half hour earlier and forcing myself to have a high protein breakfast I don't want. Keeping myself fed to the point of being full is the only way I have any energy. Reading all this makes me glad I didn't run to the doctor right away- apparently I'm not the only one still waiting to feel goddess-like in the 2nd trimester.

@BitterBetty12 I think it's a warning sign for all pregnant women.

Oof, I don’t remember second tri being this rough. I’ve been MIA from TB largely due to all-day headaches, fatigue, and the normal chaos that is having a toddler. I’m convinced my fertility tricked me and let me get pregnant literally right before DD started walking. Because if we were still TTC, I’d be tempted to take a break until DD was less of a handful.  :D

17+1 and also saucily waving a hello to second tri libido. But I’m also sadly waving in the slow return of constipation. Fortunately I haven’t had anything awful enough yet to render a hemorrhoid, but when I can’t remember the last time I pooped, that’s... not great. Better stock up on Miralax now.

@saltedcaramel518 @UnbreakableKimmySchmidt yay! So exciting to feel the baby move around. That's great you guys can feel your babies too. So fun. Glad I'm probably not going crazy.

For constipation, magnesium, LOTS of water (3L+ a day), lots of dietary fiber and a cup of decaf coffee in the morning. Apparently it is not caffeine that causes the poops, it is other compounds in the coffee. Lentils and beans have so much fiber so loading up on that also helps. I've actually had some issues this week with diarrhea, the opposite problem...not sure why :/

Editing to add that obviously regular coffee works too, I've just been doing decaf and it works just as well to keep things moving in the morning.

I hardly had any MS first tri, second tri I've been getting sick once a day.  So annoying

I feel like a total "mombie" today- only one of the toddlers napped, and I have seriously thought it was Friday every day since Tuesday. Sorry baby but mama is caffeinating basically all day today!

    +1 for 2nd tri libido  ;)

Also, I've had some pretty annoying tailbone pain. I didnt have this with DD and I am not a fan. I ordered a donut cushion and I've been doing stretches and foam rolling based on my trainer's advice, but no real improvement. Damn you, relaxin, messing with my bones!
  • Options
@luckymay2x I have a lot of tailbone pain too! Let me know if the donut cushion helps. I've been doing squats (like sets of 5 a few times a day) and that has helped a little bit? Also using a foot rest under my desk has helped alleviate a little bit.

    Andrea -- FTM at 39!

+1 to the tailbone. Exercising does help... Until I have to sit again. I requested a modular riser thing for my work desk so that I can working standing up. No one says no to the pregnant lady!

@dubcompanion I’ve missed you! I bought a bunch of sims expansions and have been playing and it made me think of you! DD is also really close to walking I think. She’s finally started taking some solo steps between objects and she’s so proud of herself. I think we’re less than a month away. I’m hoping she’ll wait until I go back to work! Haha.

My headaches have also been killer. I’m on day 4 of a migraine right now that I just can’t kick. I don’t want to keep taking Tylenol but I need it to survive. Today I did a large coffee with it just to give me the best chance of making it go away.

Also I’m annoyed that I’m a STM at almost 17 weeks and not really feeling baby girl consistently yet. I’ve had 3/4 moments where I am 90% sure I felt her. But they’re few and far in between. Has me really looking forward to that Doppler check next week.

@BitterBetty12 same here with the movement. I thought I felt something a couple weeks ago but I haven't felt anything and I feel like my belly looks big but feels like it's getting smaller and now I'm nervous for my appointment and it's not until next Thursday.

I put a pic in the FTM thread of where the uterus sits week to week. You might find it comforting if you see that everything above is just stomach and bloat. I mean that very kindly! It would explain being puffier some days than others.
