Re: Symptoms - July

  • @tosh24 that was beautiful. And so relevant.

If i hear H tell DD one more time ‘oh mommy needs to go puke now how convenient when you need breakfast’ I will probably murder him. I know he’s being sarcastic. But his sarcasm is not currently appreciated.

  • @tosh24 obsessed with your remix. when are grammy nominations?
  • 11+3 and bloating and indigestion are killing me. I ate lunch at 1 pm and it feels like it hasn't moved anywhere. And I'm still exhausted. When am I going to start feeling better?!?
  • I don’t recall pregnancy insomnia hitting this soon last time!! It’s always my 5 AM bathroom trip that tells my brain, “hey! It’s basically a new day, stay awake, and eat something.” The hunger pain is intense w this one. I’m trying to fill up my stomach w water instead bc it’s way too early to be up for me! Anyone else can’t go back to sleep and is wide awake?!
  • Ditto @AliKay20 i've been up since 5 and finally gave in to eat a yogurt.  Hoping I can go back to sleep now because it's my day off!
  • @alikay20 oh man the hunger is the worst. I could totally go to sleep after my early morning wake up to pee except then I have intense hunger that immediately turns to nausea if I don’t eat. And once I eat I’m obviously awake.

  • Count me in on the wake up and can't go back to sleep train. I take a pill at 550 every morning and can't eat for an hour after taking it. It's torture. I got up, took a shower and now I count down the minutes until I can eat.

That’s normal, I’d only get be concerned if the flow becomes heavy :) spotting is especially common after physical activity or sex. You can always call your OB for reassurance if you feel nervous though!
  • @wkuandrea it can absolutely be normal but I’m always team ‘call the OB’ just for reassurance. When I had spotting later on in my pregnancy with DD they wanted me to come in and it was actually caused by a yeast infection.

  • @wkuandrea if it were me I'd call the ob office,  that's what they are there for! I try not to worry alone. Im also a ftm so can't give you any reassurance, hope it's nothing!
  • @wkuandrea glad you got to see LO! Mine didn’t feel like a yeast infection at first either. The blood was my first sign of it. That’s why I cautioned. The OB told me the infection will irritate a pregnant cervix and cause bleeding.

@wkuandrea @BitterBetty12 What did your doctors say was safe to take for a YI? I feel like I might be getting one. Every one I've ever had has gone away without treatment, but I feel like YIs need to be treated in pregnancy, right? I have a prenatal appointment with my dr on monday so I'm going to ask her to swab me to be sure, but thought I'd ask you ladies anyway. TMI my skin has been super raw since BFP because of the progesterone supps and seemed to lessen once I stopped them, but has now flared up again and I'm wondering if it's a YI.

  • @tosh24 as far as they told me - any of the normal OTC meds are safe. They actually had me do a 3 day regimen of ticonozole to knock it out and then after that (I was 31 weeks at the time) I had to do the lowest dose of miconazole twice weekly. My OB said once you get a YI in pregnancy they’re hard to get rid of. And she was right because before I started the maintence dose I could feel it coming back.

  • 15+1 and I'm feeling early 1st trimester exhausted all of the sudden. I slept all afternoon today! I was told at my last appointment I had an underperforming thyroid, could that be anyway linked to my exhaustion? Also, every single joint in my body aches. My knee is inflamed and my hips hurt. Yikes. I'm scared to see what the next 25 weeks have in store for me!
  • @Angheat Definitely could have to do with your thyroid. Lots of other factors could play a part but an underactive thyroid will certicertmake you tired.
  • @ers7924 Haha, same. I just ate a huge thing of fried rice... Gotta plan out some healthy food options that will be available immediately, I think.
  • Evening sickness is still hanging around, but now I'm getting headaches and dizziness every morning. It feels like I'm hung over.. can't I get rid of 1st tri symptoms before the second tri symptoms start?
  • @Mandamay1414 ugh FEEL you on the headaches. They've been slowly but surely creeping in for the last week. Trying to stay hydrated to prevent, but I've caved and taken Tylenol twice. Gotta do what ya gotta do!
  • mrsmang pregnancy line can definitely start early. It is a first pregnancy symptom for some people. I got a very light line around 6 weeks and now at 13 it is darkening a bit but still faint.
  • @ers7924 The Second tri hunger was so real for me with DD. If I didn’t carry snacks around me I would get this awful hunger that would be followed up by nausea. Basically if I didn’t eat immediately I would be miserable.

    15+0 today

I have been trying SO HARD not to fall asleep at my desk since 1030 this morning. Which is only like 3 hours after I woke up after a 9 hour sleep last night. WTF is wrong with me?!? I thought the sleepies would be gone by now. Anyone else still feel like they have narcolepsy????

  • Oh, with DD2 I totally took naps in my car at lunch. At least a few times a week. I haven't been that tired this time, thank goodness!
  • Just when you thought you couldn’t possibly pee more frequently than you already do now, week 13 hits you so hard and you’re now peeing every five minutes. What is this madness?!?!?!?!

This pregsomnia nonsense can GTFO. I woke up at 2:45 to DS crying, went in to calm him, peed (of course), and then barely had gotten back to sleep by the time my alarm went off at 5:15.

With my other two, the MOTN waking to pee didn’t start until third tri. This time it started almost right away, and now add on to that not being able to fall back asleep. Holy hell

  • @AliKay20 lol! My midwife told me there's a brief period of relief as your uterus moves up and away from the bladder and before baby is big enough to weigh down. I think I'm at that spot at 16 weeks, because I've slept through the night twice now without having to pee, and I made it through a movie yesterday without having to pee halfway through.

Omgggg I cannot wait!!!! STTN?!?! I sound like I have a newborn already but I so want that moment to come now. :)
  • @AliKay20 my nights have been going the same way. It's awful! I'm so tired.

My DD2 was sleeping great and through the night for about a year and then I found out I was pregnant and now she wakes in the middle of the night and sometimes goes right back to sleep and other times not. Takes me a minimum of 2 hrs to get myself back to sleep, and if she does sleep through the night, I still wake up.

I have been taking naps at lunch everyday since week 6   :D There is an empty floor in my office building that has couch on it that I sneak up to and sleep on for 30 minutes everyday

I don’t think DH understands how miserable I am right now. Forced me to come with for family dinner out bc quality time. I really wish I had that hour or two while they’re out to myself so I can lay down without having to do anything. I’m not even hungry right now :(

Is anyone else seeing a reduction in how much they can eat already? I'll be absolutely starving, but then it doesn't take much food before I'm uncomfortably full. I've heard of this happening in pregnancy, but thought it was more of a third tri symptom (I'm currently 15+4).
Yes this is happening to me too! In third tri it makes sense because your stomach is more squished so less room for food. I think I read something about digestion slowing down in first/early second tri though so maybe that’s what it is?

Either way I was so starving yesterday that I bought enough food for 2 people at Wendy’s. Then only ended up eating two chicken tenders before I was full lol
