This has never happened to me w my first pregnancy but last night, I got cold so suddenly and could not stop shaking!! Even with DH putting three thick blankets on top of me did not do the trick. He just sort of held me until it went away. Lasted about ten minutes. Then my whole body ached after so I’m not sure if it was some sort of infection or related to hormones but it was a little scary to say the least.
13+3 today. My body decided to celebrate the first day of second tri with 20 minutes of puking and dry heaving this morning. I haven't had much nausea in the last two weeks, so I had started to hope it was over. Hopefully this is the last bad morning!
@AshVA I hope this morning was just a fluke... that sounds awful!
I’m 14+4 and I’m still dealing with exhaustion, but it seems to hit around 3-4pm now instead of all day. Food cravings have hit too. I cannot get enough of spicy and savory foods... especially buffalo wings.

@AliKay20 this happens to me too! I just get really cold all of a sudden. Thinking it definitely must be hormone related -- like a reverse hot flash. Do you have any thyroid issues? I worry a little that maybe my levels are off... but they were just checked two weeks ago and looking good.
I'm still far behind everyone else (at 10wks) but I love hearing that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Sportin' some Sea Bands and eating Preggo Pop Drops and it's actually working (on top of the Unisom+B6 combo).

I think I’m definitely going to ask about it at my next appt. I am 10 weeks too! 11 weeks on Thursday. And you described it perfectly- reverse hot flash sounds accurate. It was so weird!
Glad some of y'all are starting to feel a bit better! Those of you suffering from nausea are bound to turn the corner soon.
12+4 now- feeling much better actually! (relatively speaking of course). I still get tired in the evening but it's sooo much better, and the bloating, malaise and depression have reduced as well. I'm certainly happy about where I'm at. I was getting really depressed in the first tri, probably from hormones and just feeling shitty and not doing much, so it's been great to have some of that fog lifted.
Some new symptoms are headaches and nosebleeds. I've had congestion/boogers this whole pregnancy but it's tipped over into nosebleed land, which might be due to other factors like the heat wave. Also, even more out of breath from pretty easy movements. More appetite. I feel happier though and can't complain too much.
14 weeks tomorrow and I still spend every morning yaking in the sink. Luckily it’s empty stomach so nothing really comes up. My energy is non existent and I still find food mostly unappealing. At my 13 week appointment the scale showed I’m down 5 lbs this pregnancy so far. Doctor isn’t concerned about the weight loss but I’d just like to feel better soon.
@AliKay20 if you get that cold feeling again jump in a steamy shower! I’ve had that before and it’s the only thing that warms me up.
@AshVA my nausea came back with a vengeance too after a few weeks of break. It’s horrible. I was in horrendous traffic this morning and had to pull over to throw up. The stop and go in the car was enough to send me over the edge. I hope yours doesn’t last much longer! Yuck! @AliKay20 that sounds so scary to have gone through. I’m sure your doctor will be able to help answer what it was. Hang in there!
I’m 13weeks 2 days today and feel like dropping into a deep sleep every day around 2:30pm. Definitely feeling sore in my pelvis region up to my belly button. Im guessing that means things are shifting around making room for baby and my growing uterus!
I hope everyone’s got fun plans for July 4....we’re going to hang by our friend’s house and swim in the pool. So excited for a midweek day off!

13+2 today. I still feel like poo. I had probably my WORST day of nausea of the whole pregnancy yesterday. I mentioned to my OB today that I was still feeling nauseas. Specifically that it is worse and much longer lasting that it was with DD. She immediately asked whether I was drinking as much water this time. I’m not - not even close. She said it won’t make it go away but dehydration makes it a lot worse. So wish me luck as I start trying to get that 60-100 ounces.
The worst part is that my nausea is at its peak from about lunch time to bed time. So like. All day.
Also have what I think is sciatica that started today. Im already not a fan and hope this is not a long lasting thing

@rooonilwaazlib Yikes, that's awful. I'm glad you were at least able to pull over first! I hope your nausea clears up soon.
Normally nausea for me has mostly been in the morning, but today it's lasted all day. Had to tell DH there was no I could handle salmon for dinner like we'd planned. I'm still at the office, but will need to figure out a suitably bland and inoffensive alternative when I get home.
@AshVA oh man, salmon is a big no no so far. No one under the same roof can have it basically, lol.
And the gags do come out of nowhere. It’s not so much throwing up for me but gagging after I drink water or something unassuming like that. Weird!
I am definitely going to hop in the shower next time the uncontrollable shakes happen again. DH did recommend that I sit in the bathtub w warm water but I didn’t want to feel cold after I got out & was half just too lazy.
I've been freezing this entire pregnancy too. My H has been getting super annoyed, this is all new. I'm also going to ask my Dr Thursday when I see her.
I was so warm my last pregnancy that I was looking forward to not being cold again...but I've also been freezing! I went to check my thermostat and it says 71 so I'm not sure how I am so cold right now.

Mine is set to 74 and I'm wearing sweat pants and fuzzy socks! So strange!
@AliKay20 I was hoping that I would be able to handle the salmon for lunch tomorrow. I asked DH not to cook my piece tonight, but he went ahead and cooked it anyway. Reheated salmon sounds even worse
@BitterBetty12 try drinking your water ice cold. It helps me drink plenty of water during the day. And I mean ICE COLD. I fill my water bottle with ice first, to the brim, then fill in with water. I drink so much water this way.
I'm 14 weeks today, feeling a bit crappy this morning. For about a week prior to today, I felt great! Brimming with energy, happy, eating (even vegetables!). Lots of congestion, which is annoying, but I'll take it over all-day nausea anytime. Today I just feel off and very tired, very moody.
I'm 12w3d and I've been feeling really good other than this headache that has lasted a week. I've made sure that I'm getting plenty of sleep, staying hydrated and avoiding coffee and I just can't kick it.
Also my dh thinks I'm crazy because I've been cold too! And it's been 90°+ for the past week.
The pregnancy insomnia is killing me. I'm wide awake for a couple hours in the middle of the night, and then I'm practically falling asleep at 4 pm. I've been going to bed right after DD does at like 7:30 but it's still so hard to get out of bed when DD wakes up at 5:30 demanding breakfast.
@featherchicki that’s my favorite way to drink water too! I don’t know why I’m struggling so much. I feel like the nausea contributes to me not wanting to drink it.

I’m 13+3 and I’m starting to feel a lot better. I haven’t thrown up in a week! I’m still tired but like a lot of you I get tired in the afternoon. I get a little woozy around 5pm buf if I drink some cold water and sit under a fan I feel better. I have to put a fan in the kitchen while I cook because the heat gets to me.
13+1 today. I thought that I was starting to turn a corner this week. Nausea had eased up for a few days. But today was my worst day yet - dry heaving a lot more than before and vomited for the first time this pregnancy, once this morning and again this afternoon. I've had a constant headache since yesterday. It's lucky for me that DS is spending the day at my IL's with his cousin who is visiting this week. I've just been resting and watching "Call the Midwife" and crying at every birth scene.
@pttomato that exact thing has been happening to me, its so strange! Most nights I've been awake around the middle of the night with my mind racing about something or other (with some supposedly "super great idea"- not so much). It started a couple of weeks ago.
I woke up this morning feeling the worst I have this entire pregnancy. Super nauseous and actually got sick (only the 2nd time this pregnancy). And I feel super exhausted. I'm 14+3. We did have a wedding last night that was both indoor/outdoor so I think I'm gonna blame this one the heat and maybe a little dehydration. I'm trying to drink some water this morning but feel so sick I hope it stays down.
@drabong88 I feel ya. 14+2 today, and prior to yesterday, I was feeling really great. Just fighting off crazy fatigue right now and queasiness. My midwife told me this morning that I'm not really " out of the woods" until around 20 weeks.
14+1 and been having all day headaches lately. I’m no longer queasy which is nice, but I’m *almost* preferring that to having my head pound literally from sunrise to dusk.
@featherchicki Yes, what is with that?? Like I’ll think “Oh, my head feels better! I should finally do that physically demanding task that needs to get done.” And then I stand up and POUND POUND.
@dubcompanion@featherchicki I've been having headaches as well but thankfully they haven't been terrible. I'm usually and ibuprofen taker when I have a headache tylenol does not really help so I glad they haven't been too bad
RE: headaches, have any of you tried magnesium? My midwife gave me a headache handout today and it had just water, Tylenol or magnesium as suggestions on it. She said the magnesium can also help with constipation, so I was thinking of giving it a shot!
@merostomata I take magnesium supplements. I don't notice that they do anything for my migraines (which they're supposed to) but headache/migraine relief is supposed to be one of its benefits. It's also a sleep aid and I sleep great while on it, and it helps with restless leg syndrome which is common in pregnancy. Works wonders for constipation too (at least does for me!). You're not supposed to take more than 350 mg total per day, so make sure you are subtracting whatever is in your prenatal from 350 to give you the max amount of magnesium supplement you can take.

@merostomata Magnesium is great for constipation and round ligament pain. My midwife said Epsom salt baths contribute, too, so keep that in mind. I don't really get headaches, so I can't speak to that.
@merostomata I have been using a topical magnesium oil spay that I got on amazon that was supposed to help with morning sickness. I have no idea if it was that, the unisom + B6 or simply just making it into the second tri but my nausea has pretty much cleared up. Not a testament for headaches but just to say a topical spray is an option.
@AshVA my nausea came back with a vengeance too after a few weeks of break. It’s horrible. I was in horrendous traffic this morning and had to pull over to throw up. The stop and go in the car was enough to send me over the edge. I hope yours doesn’t last much longer! Yuck!
I keep a Tupperware bowl with a sealing lid with me in the car so if I have to urgently puke, I can puke in the bowl and then put the sealed lid on it so I don’t have to smell it and to keep it from spilling. Then I wash it when I get home and put it back in the car. It may seem gross, but it has come in handy.

My all-day sickness stopped. Now I'm just queasy in the evening. I'm also dizzy. This pregnancy is definitely different than the last one.
