@kissableviv I went to the movies last night on those amazing recliner seats too, although I saw Incredibles 2. Jurassic park was in the next theater and you can hear the sounds from outside and they were LOUD. Those ninja kicks are understandable.

  • Happy Birthday @gingerbride26!!

    Congrats @MrsMiller8588!!!

Goodluck today @lindsayleigh1989. Can’t wait to read about the announcement and birth stories!

@kissableviv last movie I saw back in March the babe was going crazy. I figured it was the noise and decided to not see any more movies in theaters.

  • @zande2016 I really enjoyed it! I also love Chris Pratt:)

@nimmle we're gonna try and squeeze in Incredibles 2 as well! We got movie pass in March so we are basically not paying for movies at this point - it was $80 upfront and we've already seen 14 movies lol

  • nimmlenimmle member
@kissableviv How do you like that? We thought about moviepass but now with baby coming we're prob not going to get out much for awhile
  • We are planning on a movie date next Tuesday since AT&T offers some free ticket special. Hopefully baby will stay put but i honestly don’t know what to see yet.
  • @lindsayleigh1989 Congratulations!! Oh my goodness, that squishy little face!:love::love:
  • @lindsayleigh1989 precious! congrats!
  • @zande2016 My fluid has been around 21-22 also.  And I'm sorry your fasting numbers are being so stubborn!  What are you eating for your bedtime snack?  I hope they can get it under control and/or you go into labor on your own before an induction since I know you really want to avoid one.

  • @Sarafuss I've been switching it up lately with no luck. I've tried several things that have worked for me in the past, including 1/2 cup of full fat ice cream w/ a string cheese; greek yogurt; cup of full fat chocolate milk; nothing (just to see if that made a difference); popcorn and a string cheese. Tonight I am going to try drinking a protein shake.
  • @gingerbride26  happy birthday! Now I want coffee and lemon cake....

congratulations @lindsayleigh1989! Isabella is such a sweet little chunk!

glad baby boy settled down for you @zande2016 and I hope you can get your fasting number back under control.

  • As someone else already said, big day today!
congrats to @MrsMiller8588, @lindsayleigh1989 (she is adorable!), and @catftm2018! So many ‘July’ babies coming in June!
    Happy bday to @gingerbride26!

I’m on the (anxiety induced) insomnia wagon too, so have been working since 5am and decided to work from my sofa today as a consolidation prize. (Like a few of you, my daily NYC commute is >1 hour each way, on the subway no less - so this is very exciting).

Feeling like I NEED an almond croissant after reading @kissableviv post. But too lazy to track one down.
  • @pretzellover if you can't track one down, maybe you can find a reasonable substitution that's still yummy, haha!
    @lindsayleigh1989 congrats! She is precious!!!
  • nimmlenimmle member
@pretzellover Ugh! I hear you on the NYC commute. The subway is the worst! Luckily I don't have too far to go once I get into the city so I've just been doing Uber Pool lately.
  • @kissableviv I have a whole watermelon in the fridge + some skinny cow chocolate ice creams... both could work! ;)

@nimmle I almost caved and took an Uber yesterday but it was $65 direct and $40 for Pool, and on principle I couldn’t... instead I stood for 2 stops as literally 7 men sitting against one wall played chicken until one of them finally stood for my giant protruding belly!
  • @pretzellover I am so ragey for you that no one offered you a seat right away! I work in one of the outer boroughs so I drive in rather than take the train, but the times when I need to go somewhere by subway for meetings, hearings etc, I dread it so bad. Especially in the summer heat and pregnant, the subway is like cruel to torture. I’m working from home now but going in tomorrow to drop off/pick up some files and I’m dreading it already.
  • nimmlenimmle member
@pretzellover that’s the exact attitude that had me avoiding the subway. I only have to go 3 stops so my Uber Pools have been $1.50-$3.00 (with the 50% promos I’ve been getting each week) so it’s less than the subway anyway. People are just rude and I have no desire to deal with it.
  • Thanks for all the birthday wishes, ladies!  Starbucks totally got my entire order wrong and the contractors have the power out in the good pooping bathroom so alas my birthday wish is not to come true...  The coffee is actually right - it's just also on my pants and the straw cracked after 1 sip lol the berry scone isn't bad but it's not lemon cake ;-) I'll just stop for a panera lemonade on the way to cardio this afternoon to get my lemon fix.  Happy to have a bad luck birthday if it means so many good outcomes and squishy newborn photos today!

ok need a slight AW moment to ask for input - ran into issue with the lighting for the kitchen - dumbasses built my house with 2x3's instead of 2x4's so no pendant on earth is going to fit straight down from partition like we planned....we can't build out a faux beam or box without construction and cost delays... options are 90 deg off the front of the wall as pictured in spoilers, or from the ceiling just in front of that partial wall in the dinning room side.  DH says both options suck and he doesn't care I decide....soooo helpful babe.  I guess we could also move them to kitchen side over the counter (it's going to be a bi-level breakfast bar) and have it be task lighting for prep instead of dinning since there's 4 recessed cams and a box for a chandelier in the room where the seating is.

@gingerbride26 I’d BY FAR rather have task lighting than eating lighting.

Congrats @lindsayleigh1989!!! Isabella is so squishy and wonderful!! (Thanks for the picture too btw  ;)

@zande2016 I hope your little man calms down! My OB said today that sometimes baby moving around can make contractions come on and sometimes a contraction coming on can make baby upset and push more. But she also said that just because the contraction doesn’t hurt doesn’t mean it’s not moving things along.

Im sorry for all of you with commuting woes.

    ETA congrats to @coco305
  • so my younger SIL is visiting with MIL and I feel bad that I think she kind of hates visiting us...she is 20 years old with Down's Syndrome and has some trouble fully understanding that my kids are a toddler and a preschooler. She's used to essentially being the only child at home now that her older siblings are grown up and out of the house, and so she's used to getting all the attention and activities she wants but also all the downtime she needs. When she's here, she gets overwhelmed and frustrated with my kids when they are just acting their age. I think I annoy her sometimes, too, because I gently correct her behaviors when I feel it's needed. Right now she's super pissed at DS for not sharing DH with her. I guess she wanted a hug from her big brother and DS wouldn't let him go. Earlier today she accused DD of stealing something from her (wasn't remotely true) and it made DD confused and cry and so we had a whole thing trying to get SIL to apologize to DD. I just feel bad that SIL isn't enjoying herself here anymore and there isn't much we can do to help except intervene and try to talk it through. They don't leave until Friday, so hopefully things don't escalate much more before then. I think MIL is planning to give DD some children's books about Down's Syndrome to help explain SIL's behaviors to her in a way she'll understand.

    Isabella & Julian & and now #3!
  • AND CONGRATULATIONS TO @lindsayleigh1989 and @coco305!!

Cute baby @lindsayleigh1989! So glad things went well for you this morning. :)

@lindsayleigh1989, a big congratulations! I love looking at those squishable cheeks, she's perfect!

Thanks for sharing your story @coco305! Here's hoping the NICU stay resolves soon!

Happy birthday, @gingerbride26! Sorry about the lemon cake and bathroom, but hoping the Panera lemonade works out!
  • @flockofmoosen3 your post in symptoms makes me think...maybe it was @zombiehoohaa or @acunamatada that had a kiddie pool filled in their living room for soaking? Now I wonder if its still there and if not, how you emptied it? #random
  • @flockofmoosen3 that sounds frustrating. I’m sure it is difficult for SIL to understand why your kids are irritating (even if they are just being kids) and I’m sure it’s hard for you to want her to be comfortable and not be able to fix it. It’ll be nice for your kids to have some books to help understand the situation a little bit.
  • @gingerbride26 my 2 cents is if you can suffer the delay or pay extra, get what you actually want. We did a full gut Reno in 2011, and the few things I very reluctantly compromised on (which drove me nuts then), still drive me nuts now! And it’s so hard to go back and fix them later! Big regret.
@zande2016 The subway is my daily trigger. And being pregnant has made it worse! Men NEVER stand for me. One day I was hot and dizzy and nicely asked a man for his seat (he looked like a typical professional), and no BS he called me the ‘c word’ and refused to get up! I was so shocked, I almost slappped him. (Never been called that to my face! Lol). Total scene ensued to put it mildly. One of the other men finally got up.
  • Congrats to all the new mamas!!
  • Anyone creating a playlist for their delivery? I didn’t know I could do this with DS for my c section but my new hospital offered the opportunity. I’m kinda stuck on what I’d like listen to. Any recommendations? I was thinking the Rock-A-Bye Baby pandora station would be a good one.
  • @zande2016 no i was totally freaking about pet/LO plans until we changed to a scheduled CC - which I scheduled for during daycare hours so that we don't even have to deal with in-laws.  Dog was going to go to my parent's for a couple weeks as we drew closer, but since DH is not sleeping over at hospital we decided to keep him home to minimize routine changes for DD - last time we came home from vacation and he wasn't here she was really upset and kept asking/looking for him.

  • @gingerbride26 that's the only positive in my mind for if I need a scheduled induction is being able to plan. Last time with my son, my brother promised they'd take our dog (they run a dog sitting company out of their house), and then when I found out my induction date, they were like nope sorry we're going out of town. So this time I don't even feel like asking them. My mom keeps saying she will just stay at my house with my son and dog, and she takes care of my son anyway so she knows all his routines, but my problem with that is 1) I kind of want my mommy with us at the hospital lol and 2) I will LOSE MY SHIT if my in laws stake out the waiting room at the hospital again and sit there waiting for me to give birth, so my plan to try to prevent that was to have them watch my son, but I am worried she doesn't know his routines as well, and she's not really a dog person, and the thought of her staying at my house kind of makes my skin crawl. Guess I will have to weigh the options.
