  • @mrs_fogue I really like the names Aspen and Wes together!

I know someone who named their son Atlas - I kind of love it. Too unique?

edited to add - for @mrs_fogue. DH would never go for it for us. He likes traditional names.

  • @beezeemarie it is unique but that one would never fly with my DH either.
  • A colleague named her son Harlen. It's so cool and unique

    Aspen & August
    Aspen & Dominic

These are all names I love but either DH doesn't like or I can't use for some reason.

  • Ok, I want to play too. See the TW thread for my debacle with DH. So, I need girls names! I have a particular style and DH is very picky. DD's name is Eloise, so it needs to go with that. Last name is 10 letters and 4 syllables, starts with P and ends with I, and is one of those obnoxious crazy Polish names.

Colette (DH all of a sudden doesn't like it)
Cecilia (IMO, too many syllables to go with our last name)
Noelle (This is probably my favorite on its own, but too similar to DD, who often goes by Elle)
    Amalie (this one is ok)
    Vivian/Vivienne (too popular)
    Clara (DH doesn't like)

    Hit me with some ideas!

  • @canonmom413 I like Charlotte but it has been dibs-ed by SIL (not married, and no kids on the way), and it is not worth the drama that would follow if we used it.

  • @carries2018 in general, probably not, but I personally know three little girls/babies named Vivian or Vivienne.

Cecilia (with the nn cece) was on our list with DD. It is DH's favorite by a landslide. I do really like it, but for some reason it seems too long for the last name. Weird question - do you think it is 3 or 4 syllables? If you can convince me that it is only 3, I might be on board. Lol.

  • @beezeemarie I love your list! We've basically decided on Vivian for LO if it's a girl. DH is a teacher and he's never had one so it's an automatic win! I also don't know anyone young with that name, which is why I love it.

My girl list In case you find it helpful:

    Cora

    Isla

    Audra

    Mallory

    Bronwyn

    Jocelyn

    Calista

  • haha i dont know i keep coming up with 3 and 4 syllables depending how i say it.

what about: Julia, Willa, Whitney, Victoria, Katherine, Juliana, Alexandra, Cora

It sounds like 'Harlem' to me but it's really unique and I've never heard of anyone else having that name

  • Throwing in a vote for Cecelia because I love the nn CeeCee.  Also adding Amelia and Lydia

  • Amelia (nn emmy) was always my favorite name, but it's one of DH's best friend's name so it's a no go. But it 100% fits my style.

  • I was interested in Cecilia (nn CeeCee) until I saw that it means "blind."   Way to ruin a good name for me, google!

  • A mom on my last BMB named her #2 Viviana. I think that's really pretty.

I have a student named Amelie (pronounced Emily) and her oldest sister is Elyse. Middle sister?  Lauren. I find it such a strange pairing, Lauren with Amelie and Elyse. All very nice girls, though.
  • I do agree that Vivian is popular right now. I know two little girls under 4 months named Vivian.

  • @jessafishy I love Louisa. There's a little girl at DD's daycare named Louisa, and they call her Lulu. Another name we can't use because it's too similar to DD's name. All the names I love incorporate the same sounds, making it difficult.

  • @jessafishy, seriously, it's the cutest. She's DD's BFF, and she's always talking about "Lulu." Like, I need to come up with a name that correlates with Lulu as a nn.
