Yeesh... DH is a groomsman in a wedding and is helping the best man plan the bachelor party weekend. The best man is in Kuwait with the Army and doesn't have internet access at the moment, so DH asked me if it's okay if we book a $4,000 rental house on our card until the friend can get to a computer to wire us the money (I know that sounds really expensive, but they have 16 guys sharing the place). I know the friend will pay us back ASAP, but it still makes me a little uncomfortable.
Me: 29, DH: 31 Married: October 2014 Began TTC: April 2015 BFP #1: 9/18/15. EDD 5/18/16. MC 10/26/15. (9w) BFP #2: 2/27/16. EDD 11/7/16. MC/D&E 4/20/16 (11w) BFP #3: 9/22/16. EDD 5/29/17. DS born 4/24/17 BFP #4: 5/20/18. EDD 1/23/19.
I may have gotten a little too excited by the news that i could do stuff again... I cleaned all the clutter from our bedroom, dds room, kitchen, scrubbed the baseboards in the living room, swept, vaccumed, and figured out a new arrangement for furniture (i only moved the light pieces and let dh move the rest when he got home) that will allow us to leave the pack'n'play set up so we can use it more with these babies. Then i chased dd around all day and held her alot bc i missed picking her up:) she was so happy she kept giving me the most adorable kisses but now... Im very sore. Tmw i will try not to go as crazy!
Anyone been checked yet by their OB? I think she just did it today because of the swab so she was already down there. I've never had an OB tell me that I'm at a fingertip but still closed and would be easily induced. That was new.
My OB said they could start checking at 36 weeks if I wanted. There is no point though. You could be closed today and give birth tomorrow. You also could be 2cm dialated and go pass your due date.
Also strange your OB said you would be easily induced. I was a fingertip when I was admitted and it took 3 days for DD to come. Are you looking at having to be induced?
@bacorrea that's what I've been reading. I may have to be induced at 38 if my fluid level doesn't go down. She's being pretty cautious because of that and because my last came at 37.
Ok gotcha! Sorry I remember now. I'm terrible at remembering what's happening to what person. I will be praying if you have to be induced your body is ready to go! @mamatowildones

Oh don't apologize! It's so hard to keep track of everyone!!! Thank you!
@kns1988 that would make me nervous too. Weird he doesn't have access to the internet though. DH basically lived life normally when he was in Kuwait.
I guess it's that his phone isn't working and he's not at a computer at the moment or something and wanted to get it locked down... I don't know. Men. They'll figure it out. I trust the guy at least, but I'd rather they just be patient.
ETA: They came up with a better solution. The friend is going to provide his credit card number and DH is just going to book it. Bachelor parties are a pain.

This. I heard the same thing so much that I chose not to get checked with DD. Anybody can decline getting checked if they don't want to be. I didn't want to know if I was walking around ~2cm dilated all along etc and figured well she will come when she's ready (or I would be overdue and get induced at some point). I thought about getting checked this time around purely out of curiosity whenever the swab gets done. We'll see though.
I'm just now catching up. The belly massage is no joke. I had forgotten all about it until the nurses came in to check my incision and proceeded with the massage.
re: Milk, I assumed my milk came in sooner with DS2 because he was able to nurse within 1 hour of being born. However I think it may have been my body just recalling what to do. With DD, I started exclusively pumping right away and my milk was definitely here by the second day.
Silly FTM question: do you ever get a pain that makes you almost black out or stop in your tracks or need to sit down? I got the worst pain I've had yet, it instantly made me gasp, I thought I was going to faint, felt dizzy, I swear I lost my vision for a sevond. But it was only a second. I couldn't tell if it was a RLP type pain or a baby kick. Any thoughts? I'd feel ridiculous mentioning this anywhere but here. :-)
@jayandaplus, my pains are never that intense. I do get RLP pains that will make me yell, but I never feel like I'm going to black out. I don't think you need to feel ridiculous for asking!

@jayandaplus I have had what I assume is RLP (its in that area) that will literally bring me to my knees (or better yet flat on my back or side) It will come fast and linger maybe 30-45 seconds each time, but in that time its so painful I literally can not stay standing or sitting up right.
@pshaortao, I think I feel the same and I'm considering declining internals after 36 weeks (they'll be doing the GBS swab at my appointment that day so I might let them just go ahead and check since I'll already be undressed). My OB mentioned at yesterday's appointment that it's OK to decline internals since he knows they make me very uncomfortable.
DH: 34/Me: 35 Married: Feb 2008 DD: June 2011 TTC# 2: April 2014 BFP!! 8/29/16 --> EDD: 5/11/17....it's a GIRL!!!
@jayandaplus I've had horrible pain but not to the point where I felt like I could black out, although it could depend on your pain tolerance. I've had RLP very sparsely these days but when they happen nowadays they really hurt. And sometimes I think LO is in a certain position that when I try to move, I have to "hoist" my belly up to relieve some pinching/pressure or whatever it's going on and he will eventually adjust himself. Then there's lightning crotch but I feel like that stings more than anything else.
I hope whatever the source of your pain is will stop asap!
Definitely no need to check your cervix unless you're in triage for ruling out labor. And perhaps a few other cases. But mostly optional!
A related aside -- consider having your "membranes stripped" (provider gently tries to make space between your cervix and the amniotic sac) starting at 39 weeks. Not a comfortable endeavor but low risk and some evidence showing it may reduce risk of needing an induction (after EDD).
@pshaortao I do the same thing! Especially this week! I hold up my belly every now and then when it feels like he's just digging into whatever down there and causing discomfort and the pinching/pressure feelings! He'll eventually move a little bit. I was just thinking how he keeps finding the spot where it makes me feel like I either have to *TMI* pee or poop or just have gas.

Now my sore boob feels hard around the nipple. I don't have my next Dr. appt. for a week and I don't know if this is normal or a clogged duct (?) or something else... I 100% need to go get some more comfortable bra's ASAP as everything hurts.
@nda_roxybabe everything you described is super normal from my experience. Sorry your in pain. Warm compresses may help! Also don't go buy ALL your bras right now, as your size may change when your milk comes in (but it also may not). I would just get a couple for now.
DD wants a Shimmer & Shine birthday party. It has been so hard to find cake toppers! I had to order some yesterday. I normally use toys and then those are part of her gift, but that doesn't really work with the sizes of the dolls.
@bacorrea Reading your comment made me think, "I can't wait for those kinds of problems!"
It's for sure fun! We had a Frozen birthday party for DD last year and it was a blast and she was just super excited when she saw the cake/decorations. This year I'm just praying I don't go into labor before her birthday! We are having "low key" with just family, but I am one of 7 so there will still be lots of people!

I can handle normal, haha. I'll try a warm compress. I was only going to get 1-2 new bras. All the ones I wear now are "add 2 cup sizes" and I think all that additional padding is just not helping, haha
Here's something I just noticed this morning - my belly has grown this really fun layer of fuzz. I know it's normal during pregnancy, but STMs - does this go away on its own later or am I going to have to take care of it?
I also have very few bras that fit right now. I've bought a few sport-style nursing bras but I'm fighting the urge to buy them all while they're on sale.
Congratulations @SWoodd2012!!! It sounds like there's a doozy of a birth story that I can't wait to hear if you decide to share! Hope mom and baby are doing well!
I was at my Ob appt today chatting with the nurse and she asked me if I've had my shower yet. Took me a second to respond because initially I thought she meant a shower to clean myself not one to celebrate me and the baby! I told her what I thought and we laughed together lol
