  • I got some seventh generation disinfectant wipes once to use on some toys. They claim they disinfect but I guess you never really know. Somewhat of a strange smell that goes away quickly but a good option if you don't want to use bleach.

  • @pshaortao , I'm sorry you are dealing with such a stressful time. I think closing on a house is always stressful on a marriage to some degree, and having another baby certainly adds a different twist. Thinking happy thoughts for you!

  • @rkstro2 Yup, it is. I'm not very creative with user names.

I live in  L.A. so I know I will have plenty of daycare choices but we also disagree on in home vs. daycare. I know I need to start looking into it but I really don't want to.
  • @fbmandy55 - No. Just no. Sorry to say this but that just feels self-centered.

@chailife34 - Glad you got home safely! My DD had dilated kidneys that didn't resolve by the follow-up u/s in pregnancy so they had us have one after she was born and by then it had all resolved. I also know of 2 other people that had to have the u/s after birth and kidneys were fine in both cases. This LO also has dilated kidneys and honestly I am not really worried knowing that most of the time it resolves itself.

  • Totally random but does anyone else feel their hunger level completely fluctuate from one day to the next? I mean the last few days have been "normal" food consumption days for me...now today all of a sudden I am STARVING and want to eat EVERYTHING in sight. I'm afraid in this state if it is not nailed down I might just eat it! I think I am just stressing because I started overweight and my OB wanted me to keep my weight gain down, but damn I'm really hungry today.
  • @chickyclg @vrj0522 @h&pmomma thanks ladies. Sounds like it's not too abnormal or severe so fingers crossed it resolves for all of us. Thanks for the moral support.

@rkstro2 @Rebecca517 that's my name too! Our name is not really that popular, surprising there are three of us!
  • @rosemarylaff yes, completely normal.  Yesterday afternoon all of a sudden I could not. stop. eating. after a few days of relatively normal appetite. I remember that with DS too.  There were days when suddenly I could not get enough food, sometimes for up to a week at a time especially during the 2nd trimester.  I assume it has to do with the baby going through a growth spurt, but who knows.

@Rebecca517 glad your A/S went well!
  • @Rebecca517 Right?! I wanted to be like um, that hurts!

  • @rosemarylaff: I ate a half-box of keebler EL Fudge cookies between yesterday and today. And I usually don't even like them. The literally called to me from the cookie aisle the other day, and I was pulled toward them, by some unseen magnet, completely out of my control... and now they're half gone. I don't feel bad, though, because I won't be buying any more, and I know that most days are way better than today. The hunger level and/or snacking instinct is just something that fluctuates, like you said. I feel ya. You aren't alone!
  • Sometime's I'm super hungry, other times not at all and have to make myself eat. Then there's the times I'm hungry, have a small bit, and am unpleasantly full. Ugh.

  • @SKZW I now must make a some EL Fudge mine! They sound so delicious!

@rosemarylaff I have mild fluctuation too. Unfortunately it is between normal and bear hunger and often leans toward bear especially right before bed.

  • I haven't been all that active these days but I'm going to try to post a bit more.

@pshaortao - good luck with all those major events and any issues going on.  Definitely sounds stressful! We'd like to sell our house and buy a bigger one but the thought of getting our house ready is enough to deter me for now.  Maybe in about a year!

@SKZW - E.L. Fudge cookies! I used to love those things.  I haven't had any in a long time, and tonight I go grocery shopping.  I might be in trouble... Although I still have plenty of junk leftover from the holidays so I should probably hold off for now.

  • @pshaortao, sorry things are tough right now!
  • @ShadeofGreen816 I feel the same way! I am suddenly STARVING and it's good to hear that there's a medical reason.  At my anatomy scan they said the baby was about 12 oz, which means that in the next month he/she will more than double in weight which is crazy.  Also, I got my first stranger comment with my first pregnancy right around 20/21 weeks.  I thought it was kind of bold too since I never ask a woman about her pregnancy unless she is clearly in like her 9th month, but I had really popped over night the night before so it made sense..
  • Yes, I got my first stranger comment at 22 weeks! She was a teenager so I don't 100% count it, but yea.

  • The random bouts of hunger are so real. And now that I have the tiniest bit of cleavage for the first time in my life, I find myself fishing chip bits and other things out of my shirt much more often. Cause apparently pregnancy has also made me a really messy eater?
I have stains on the belly of all of my shirts.  No idea how the food is making it past my ample cleavage....

  • @WombThereItIs I was at Target yesterday and they have swimsuits out!!! I know I live in Phoenix, but trust me...no locals are going in their pools this time of year (unless heated)

  • @nda_roxybabe as much as I want to hate target having swimsuits out I bought a new top this week since DD does weekly swim class and my pre-baby tankini no longer covers the bump.
  • @pshaortao - Hang in there! Buying a home, packing/moving, and having a baby are all super stressful on their own, let alone all at once. We did that when I was pregnant with #1, and it was rough!

@nda_roxybabe, @WombThereItIs - I hate seeing all the warm weather stuff so early. Such a tease. Like here's this cute sundress you can buy and store in your closet for five months.

I spilled coffee right on my boob today, so it looked like my nipple was leaking coffee.

  • @WombThereItIs I live in Florida so it seems that long sleeves are never in stores... ugh

so my random, I literally had no idea it is suggested that baby sleeps in your room until 6months to a year...: umm 3 years ago DD slept in her crib in her room from 3 days old. We had a monitor, but I never thought it was odd. I was planning to do the same this time around. Then today after reading and talking to others I'm second guessing. Everyone was like... yea we thought you knew before  :s

  • @BeachMommy2B meh the new 6-12 month thing won't fly in my house. 3-4 is one thing but I remember by the time my son was 4 months we were waking each other up all the time, it just didn't work for us. We can be shady moms together.

  • @BeachMommy2B 6 months definitely won't fly in our house either. I move them around 12 weeks.

  • @WombThereItIs @h&pmomma @nda_roxybabe omg that literally makes me feel1000 times better! I think I'm going to start out with the first 6-8 weeks and then go from there. People were making it out like I was crazy for not saying "yes I'm going to have baby in my room till kindergarten" don't get me wrong I don't judge others, but i sleep worse when baby is next to me in the same room.

I feel like having a monitor and sleeping 20 feet from his room with the doors open is not that much different then having him in my room. If anything the monitor amplified the noises sounds more than being next to DD anyway.

  • @BeachMommy2B To make you feel even better: My original plan was to have baby start sleeping in their crib immediately. Then I realized I probably will be nursing several times throughout the night and I'm lazy and don't want to walk across the loft to the nursery. So, my room it is for a bit.

  • @BeachMommy2B This little man will be moving to his crib at least before I return to work and probably much, much earlier than that. If it feels right he will go to his crib right away. The crib in the nursery is less then 10 steps from our bed so I don't see the difference in having the baby in there vs in our room.

  • @BeachMommy2B well do to 11 weeks like last babe then move her so when I go to work I can get more sleep. Ds was loud lol
  • I had a guest bed in DD's nursery she was in her room from the get-go and I just slept there. I moved out as soon we started sleep training after we passed 6 months. It was also way easier to tend to her myself, and DH would have a decent night sleep, otherwise he can't focus at his job which involve helping other people.

I'm thinking of getting a low twin bed to put in this LO's nursery and doing the same thing, then when I move out, it will be DD's new bed. He will be going into the crib from night one since DD ended up with a flat spot from being in the RnP. It should be interesting to see how it goes...
