@KMD1106@SKZW I work for county mental health clinic and it's pretty awful some of the stories I've heard and have to help people work through. I previously had a job in foster care and only lasted 5 months because of how awful it was.
I imagine that would be incredibly difficult to see kids in horrible situations.

I pulled out my storage container of maternity clothes over the weekend. In addition to worrying that none of them will fit me, it turns out I have different taste now. When I was pregnant w/ DD, I had an office job. Now I dress casually at work. Also, that pregnancy was a spring/summer pregnancy and this one will be a winter/spring. Guess this just means.... shopping spree!!
@NotAPlaya-JustCrushAlot - Fun!! I'm on the same boat as far as being afraid that pg clothes won't fit. I feel so much bigger than my first two pregnancies even though I weigh a few pounds less now than what I was at by this point with either of the others. Makes me sad! But I have tons of clothes that I'm just going to see how it all goes. I might end up shopping once I get to 3rd tri.

Im a bit heavier than when I was pregnant with DD but the clothes seem to fit okay. I'm just not feeling confident about how they will fit by spring. I plan to live in the target maternity tank tops and maxi skirts at that point anyways
@kayemjay2@Kipperoo and @Jellybeanqueen13 I am so worried about who will watch DS when I go to the hospital! We don't have any family nearby and all our good friends live down in the city (we just moved up to the mountains) about 45 minutes away. My biggest concern is that my mom's second labor was 90 minutes from start to finish and I'm getting nervous I'll be the same (my first labor was very very similar to her first labor as well). I am actually considering hiring a doula (that's a GTYK for another day) so worst case DH can stay with DS and I have someone to support me.
Met with a potential florist today. She suggested Dahlias. The first words I uttered were "that would be a beautiful name for a girl". My MOH/BFF looked at me and said "it's wedding today...we're focused on your wedding today". I got baby on the brain.

I'm in the same boat: no family nearby and no plan yet for L&D logistics... and when I just read your "considering hiring a doula" my brain just flashed on a commercial for care dot com. Maybe looking into enlisting the help of an older (not teenager) babysitter to get to know my child over the coming months (and building a relationship with him/us) would be a way to have a trusted individual on "standby" once May rolls around (if they're amenable to/available for a last-minute call like that). Esp. if I have to bolt to the hospital in the middle of the night and the little one would be waking up to having someone else in the house who wasn't there before? Or needing to be picked up from school if I was laboring during school hours and couldn't pick him up? Just a thought I had, figured I'd share it with you.
@L1C4gal right?!? So pretty!! It's at the top of my list now! I think her frustration was because my pregnancy brain has already taken over, I'm ditzy to begin with, and it doesn't go well with wedding planning!!
I sure hope Flora did meet your expectations! It sounds like she was destined for that career!
I'm really jealous of all the ladies who are finishing up the 1st trimester. With a due date of 5/27, I feel like I'll never get there (obviously I know I will get there, it just seems sooooo far away).
With my last pregnancy (which was my first) my due date was the 28th of the month. It was kinda cool being able to see what I was going up against. This round, I'm glad to be at towards the front of the pack because I don't think I could stand it either @RainyDays86
DS threw up and has a fever. In the motn. Joys of motherhood ladies! But seriously, I feel so much more love when they are sick and I have to take care of my babies. My heart aches for them.

Yes! Although admittedly probably not as bad as many of you. I have the driest skin on earth and usually have no more than 2 small pimples at a time around my nose/mouth during my period. And I've got like 7 right now all up my cheekbone. WTF?? Hormones aren't supposed to give you cheek acne!
+1 for acne. If anyone knew how bad it was last pregnancy they could probably guess I am pregnant again by the state of my face. It's a pimply oil slick. I look like a teenager with faint wrinkles! Not a good look. The bacne has started too now. yippy!!
I didn't see one of these threads last week so I figured I'd start one this week!
So what's going on ladies? My question is about water intake, I am typically a 70-80oz of delicious plain water a day girl, but for the past 2 weeks or so I am completely struggling. I can't choke down plain water, diluted juices are ok but I can't do more than a glass a day, I've tried flavored water, sparkling water, and nothing is good. Anyone else suffering through this? Any suggestions?
Also struggling with fluid intake. Juice is too sweet, water is too plain, hot drinks turn my stomach.... I can sometimes do seltzer if it's flavored but not sweetened. Usually I'm crazy for tea or any kind or flavor, but now it doesn't appeal at all. I might resort to eating/drinking broth? That's salty though, and I suspect I will get sick of that pretty quickly.
I was drinking ALL the lemon water for a couple weeks and then suddenly I didn't like it anymore.
@mrsrep123 - Yes! I haven't had acne in so long, and never had it with my last pregnancy, but one side of my face has gone crazy! It looks super weird. The other side is clear

Another here for acne but on my back instead of my face? Sure its not as bad since its easy to cover up but still annoying. I dont normally get them unless I'm working out and sweating more frequently.
So this is random... but I have been having the most vivid sexual dreams about all kinds of random men (often in the dream they're DH but they look like someone else I know or just a random human). But when I'm awake I have literally zero drive. Luckily DH is out of town this week and also he doesn't have the highest drive either. It's just so so weird!!
Acne sufferers - let's hope that it starts to dissipate like @thistlenweeds is around 12.5 weeks.
I've got white heads across my forehead, above my upper lip (ouch) and some randoms around my chin. If I recall from my first pregnancy, it does start to let up heading into second tri! FX
I'm visiting my friend this weekend and she insisted on shopping beforehand so there was enough food for me. As requested, I sent her my food "itinerary", and she asked if I was a hobbit: "breakfast, second breakfast, elevensies, lunch, dinner, supper". I was like, yeah, but you forgot bedtime snack. I'm pretty sure she was shocked and maybe mildly in horror of how much I'm eating now.
@JonesBaby0624 Yes, my friend knows I'm pregnant! She was the first person I told after my husband. There'd be no way I could keep it from her at this point, anyways. And no, no kids for her. I'm the first of our friend group
@JonesBaby0624 Oh, and I totally know the feeling about wanting a girl just so naming is easier. We have a few girl names picked out, but no boy names because we can't figure out any we like.
@starphish18 good thing she knows. You won't have to try hide your appetite. Bad news is you'll probably scare her away from getting pregnant. Haha
Yes,naming a boy is so hard. I feel like all my girl names have been so beautiful but the boy names I've had to choose in the past are just "cute". I want something that just rolls of the tongue elegantly. I guess this better be a girl.
As I've said before this is my first time being pregnant and I have many questions. lol
I've read in different areas that I am already in my second trimester, or nearing the end of my first trimester, but I know I'm a little over 12 weeks. On another website I read that my 14th week would be considered my 2nd trimester. I'm just a little confused and would like someone to clear this up for me.
I'm sorry if this doesn't make sense. I'm typing it as I'm thinking it haha
