Thank you all so much for the well wishes for my transfer tomorrow!

@tcolechia and @omarismyhomeboy, I look forward to joining you both on the PUPO status!

@rmarble23, the success rate for the thawing process at my clinic is 95%, so I imagine it is similar across the board. Because we did the chromosomal testing, we know the genders of our 5 embryos (1 boy and 4 girls). We decided to transfer our one and only boy tomorrow, so I'm hoping he stays strong through the thawing process :)

i am so glad all the transfers have started off great!  Congrats to the PUPOs!

I have started thinking about the thawing process. We only have two embryos frozen together.  I drive 150 miles to my RE, so I assume they will call me on my drive in to let me know if the frosties survived the thaw.

Do any of you take time off of work after your transfer? I took Monday and Tuesday. I came back today. I have an office job so I am not on my feet much at all and its not stressful. My doctors office sends home a sheet that tells you what you can and can't do. On the sheet they only require you to rest the day of transfer and the following day taking it easy, no exercising, or anything strenuous. I am curious what other offices recommend you doing.

@tcolechia I only took off the day of transfer. I am back at work today- HOWEVER, I work from home. My RE said I can pretty much resume normal activities except no housework, lifting things heavier than 15 lbs, etc.

Ugh also I got stressed out about some family stuff last night and started crying- I really hope that wouldn't impact my success at all...they tell you to do whatever you can to not have stress! Eek.

hi all, I had my first IVF transfer on Sunday October 2nd. They transferred 3 embryos. 8 cell, 5 cell and 4 cell. I am praying that I have at least 1 sticky baby. I had a left fallopian tube removed in June that was a hydraspalinx and was causing my miscarriages. I am 40 years young :) My Beta day is Friday the 14th and nervous and may test prior.

@tcolechia my doctor told me to go home and relax today and can go back to light work tomorrow. No heavy lifting or strenuous exercise until the pregnancy test. I ended up just taking the rest of the week off because I have a lot of unused vacation days.

@Vic3 That was a great idea to use your vacation time. I have some vacation time left. I have been saving some days incase we will need to do another cycle this year, or if I do become pregnant this cycle (fx crossed that I do get pregnant this time) I will want to take time off. My company I work for gives us 3 weeks of vacation, 8 sick days that can carry over into the next year, and 1 personal day for the year. This year I have used more sick time then I would have liked to use for all the trips up to the REs office.

Hi Ladies-  does anyone know if you can take a probiotic before FET?  This may sound like a silly question. I got put in antibiotics and that was fine but they didn't answer my probiotic question. I would think it is just like a vitamin.  I am questioning everything!

@vic311 That's a great idea to stay busy and keep your mind off of things.

@omarismyhomeboy I am also binge watching one of my new favorite shows (Nurse Jackie). The episodes are short so I can watch a few in a row.

I met with my psychologist yesterday who specializes in infertility and she recommend listening to Ted Talks on Youtube during the TWW. The last few I have listened have positive messages. I defiantly recommend listening to them.

@Kaa I haven't heard of taking a probiotic before an FET, but I have heard of taking it before a fresh cycle. Sorry I can't be much help.

I'm getting excited hearing about all of the transfers!  So excited for you ladies!

@rmarble23 I'm so glad everything went well with the thaw!  Cute socks too!  I'm sorry you had to be on your own... I probably will be too this time.  DH was with me for the fresh transfer, but he doesn't have the time to take off right now.  I'd rather him save his time in hopes that he can come to a US appointment sometime soon.  ;)  It's probably just as well, he was a basketcase during the fresh transfer haha.

@tcolechia I only took off the day of my FET.  My RE had said that some women go back to work the same day of the transfer, but I opted for the whole day.  I figure that since it's going to be on a Thursday, I can make it through a Friday and then have the weekend to take it easy.  I'm not sure if the FET will have guidelines much different from the fresh transfer, but I didn't have many restrictions for that.  It was pretty much go back to normal life.  I was told it was ok to work, have sex, workout if I'm already conditioned to it (but nothing too strenuous).  I even did yoga later in the day of my transfer.  Granted, things ended in a CP for me so I'm sort of on the fence about what to do this time.  I told myself I was going to keep life as normal as possible and if things didn't work out, then I would really take it easy the next time.  Well, here is next time... I am debating on giving up exercising or sticking with it.  I've been doing yoga, pilates, or walking.

@Vic311 I am totally dreading the full bladder part!  I am someone who has to pee constantly as it is, so this full bladder stuff is always torture for me.  I have about a 45 minute drive to my clinic, so I will probably start drinking on the way.  For my fresh transfer I was so full, so they did let me let some out.

Well today was my last day of BCPs.  I go in on Sunday for my baseline bloodwork and US.  If things go well, I'll start my Estradiol twice a day that day also.  So much has been going through my mind lately... This FET HAS to work... What if it doesn't work?  Should we try a FET again right away and keep chipping away at our quickly dwindling savings?  Should we wait a few months to try and save up more money before trying again?  What if this never works for us?  I don't want to go through another fresh cycle physically or financially... Could we just walk away from this?  Ugh!  So much for being positive.  I just feel like I've heard so much about how FET is more successful and how it worked for people I know... So part of me is thinking yeah, it's definitely going to work this time... Ok, but everything that has worked for other people has NEVER worked for us over the years.  Sigh!  I think I am just tired and having a down day.  Don't let my ho hum bring you gals down... I am just venting aloud haha.  It's just been more than 4 years... I'm exhausted... Where is that damn stork?!?! :#

@joneser1281 I get you... I think we all go up and down on this roller coaster between this has to work and it will never work but that makes the outcome so much more appreciated because how can you live with yourself if you didn't try everything you possibly could to have a beautiful healthy baby in the end. Even if it doesn't work out in the end at least you can feel some peace knowing you busted ass to try.

@joneser1281 Don't worry about venting, I think every single one of your questions has run through my brain over the past two years. I'm sure I can speak for everyone when I say that IVF is absolutely exhausting. Lots of ups and downs, lots of waiting, and lots of money (I live in California and it is very rare for anyone to have insurance that covers it). It always helps me to remember that there are plenty of women who were once in our shoes who have used IVF to have beautiful babies after years of failures.

@joneser1281 Definitely have thought all the same things! It's ok to have down days especially with dealing with fertility stuff. I hope you have a better day today!

@ItIavac I have been trying to stay very hopeful that this time it will work. This time around I didn't tell many people at all and it has been less stressful having to update everyone.  I have been noticing that I have had cramps the past two days. I usually don't feel like that before I get my period so I'm praying that's a good sign. FX!!! I can't wait for my beta on Thursday! I have had thoughts about POS, but I promised myself from the beginning of this cycle that I would just wait until my beta. I'm going to hold off from POS and keep enjoying the thought that I might be pregnant. :)

@tcolechia I had cramps the evening after my FET but haven't had much cramping since. I attribute the initial cramping to the actual procedure itself. Other than that, I've felt completely normal. I think going back to work next week will be a good thing, to help pass the time. I don't know if I will be able to resist POAS, we will see..

I know I was thinking the same thing! @rmarble23 @ltlavac! Why is our group so small??? Haha. I am feeling fine but a little anxious. TBH, I had some cramping and pressure 1dpt an 2dpt but now I am 4dp5dt and I feel like nothing? :( I am getting kinda worried because I thought for sure I'd feel SOMETHING by now. Anyway. I will probably cave and POAS in a day or two. Ugh.

Hi ladies!!  I started my patches yesterday.  I am still having trouble dealing with insurance and the pharmacy to get the remainder of my patches.  I hate being the middle man.

I go in on the 21st for an ultrasound and bloodwork.

i am impressed that our PUPO girls haven't POAS!  Big week for you ladies!!
