Just got back from the clinic, and I have strep! Yay now I'm swollen, gassy, crampy, achey and my throat hurts. AWESOME
Uuuuggh!! I freaking hate strep!! Make sure you tell your OB that you have it. I've had it twice this year and told my OB the second time I got it, and she said that she considers that a positive for being a strep carrier so I will get the GBS antibiotics.
Ugh @lovelylauren86 that sucks I'm sorry. I always get strep and had it three times when I was pregnant with Cam hope you feel better soon
I know it's still a little early to have a baby at 36 weeks but I am so ready to not be pregnant anymore. Anyone else? I always miss being pregnant when I'm not, but the pressure, aches and pains just seem 10 times worse this pregnancy. On the other end, I just need at least a week of good sleep before she comes haha I haven't slept in ages and I know it's just going to be non existent when Ava gets here
@seitzy3 - Girl, I'm only 33+3 and I'm so ready to be done being pregnant. I obviously don't want baby to come before he or she is good and ready, and I'm thankful for every day baby stays in my belly, but I also wish I could just take him/her off and give him/her to DH for a little while...
@seitzy3 only 34w but this pregnancy, with a toddler, has been 100x harder than my last. Ready to be at whatever the appropriate time is for this kid to come. (Reese was born at 38w2d. I'll take that.)
@lovelylauren86 Sorry to hear you've gotten strep! No fun at all! Take care, get some rest and feel better soon!
I'm all for unpinning some of the pinned posts - though I agree with @KimmySchmidt in keeping the introduce yourself thread pinned. As babies are born, we may get newbies to TB and I think that thread will encourage them to introduce and jump in if they're so inclined.
I'm also a HUGE vote for separate labor/birth threads. The support is encouraging and I want to see pictures/updates as often as everyone feels like sharing. And, of course, not being limited to love tits! I think it was @ajn092 who created the labor thread - what great idea to add a note encouraging separate birth stories to all posters. Do you think you can edit to add that?
In terms of weekly vs. monthly randoms. I've never really weighed in one way or another. I've always preferred the monthly (only because I'm not sure how the weekly would really help) but I'm overall indifferent. I will say, I feel like it's apparent we're all becoming less and less mobile these days - thus attributing to the heavy randoms in the last few weeks. If there are people who feel passionately about switching to weekly for that reason, I'm game. Whatever the majority wants.
I'm only 32+2 and yep feeling like ok I've done this, ready for it to be done. I know he needs to be in there for many many weeks but second @PoodleDoodleOoo I really wish I could be like here H you hold him for a few hours. Like one half day off would be amazing, bad food, sleep on stomach, and probably a drink or two.
@JLmama118 (and others who shared the same sentiment) I agree that a ton of stuff gets skipped over in this thread... I didn't even start really reading it until a little while ago despite having been here since day one of this board. I tought it was just that, mostly random things but it seems like a lot of HUGE things are said in here and now I feel bad for missing all of it and thinking we just had a slow board So I am definitely all for more individual threads, especially on big things like labor!
Also agree about unpinning of a lot of threads. I will try posting in them with @ thebump and such, more people do it, the better!
@yellowrose314 I just now read about your cat! And I am so late in commenting but I am so sorry, this is really horrible. I don't know how you kept it together in front of that lady... If it had been me I would of snatched my cat out of her arms. I feel bad because she is clearly ill... but you don't go steal other people's animals, why can't they get another support cat? Seems to me like it would be the fastest way for her to forget about yours. My cats are inside all the time just for reasons like these, it would worry and scare me too much to let them out.

I remember being pregnant with Deklyn and it was awesome. Slept, ate, did whatever I wanted whenever I wanted. Now with my two tiny dictators (I say this with love) I feel like I'm on a hamster wheel, it's still going but right now just extremely slow. I'm like a damn slug and God forbid I don't move fast enough for these girls
I'm done too, @seitzy3 and I'm only 32 weeks tomorrow. Wait. Friday. I'm so screwed up on this board lol I accidentally posted in the Thursday ticker change the first time I ever did because the 30th fell on a Thursday, but then realized I change on Fridays. Anyway, done. Having a toddler and being pregnant is no fun.
the more Inthink about it, the more I agree that a weekly random wouldn't change anything. We all post so much on here now. I think because we are all checked out!
Also, how do we get the top posts unpinned? I'm not sure how that's done.
I agree with the individual threads for birth stories as long as you aren't a random and I can actually recognize who you are by your name/avatar. I think it's a bit weird to post your own birth story thread if you haven't participated at all in the community.
@TheTamedShrew I think everyone should post birth stories if they want to. Either way we will get randoms and I would never want to make someone feel like "Have I contributed enough to post mine?" Plus those who want can easily ignore the random ones.
And you're not a snob, I understand. I would not go up to strangers to tell them my birth story either. But seeing other's don't bother me I guess.

Another YES for individual "I'm in labor" and birth announcement threads! I don't like the huge birth announcement thread as much as the individuals where I can actually comment, ask questions etc. I think it's safe to say that the next person who goes into labor and has a baby, we all want you to post an individual birth announcement too!
My random... after seeing my bump pic this week and how big I look, I decided to do a comparison of my first pregnancy. Yeah, the left is 34 weeks with #2, right is 38 weeks pregnant with #1. I'm a little scared of how big I'm going to be at the end of this.
@MrsVoorhees Me, too. At least 10 things! Some I already have planned to go in the snack bag. Some DH knows he will have to go and get himself if no one else can. Others I think I'll probably won't actually want once I'm not pregnant anymore (like 7 pb&j sandwiches... seriously, I want to want to eat 7 pb&j sandwiches in one sitting).
Today is my first day back home after being in Vegas for my mom's birthday. I just finally finished getting caught up on this thread. I read through all 14 pages and saw the cute pictures of Fin, got caught up on @yellowrose314 's cat stealing drama, and drooled over @seitzy3 's picture of yummy cupcakes.
Big congratulations to @mom2adoodle! Fin is so cute with all the dark hair! I am glad that he is doing so well in spite of his early arrival. And while it would be nice for us all to make it to full term, it now it seems like the birth announcements are going to start rolling...looks like we are definitely going to have an announcement from @UnwritteN12 next week. Good luck! And it seems like @reesaXden may also deliver early if she comes off the Procardia next week. I know that this has been a difficult pregnancy for you but you are doing awesome!
In the debate about weekly versus monthly randoms, I am pretty indifferent. The only request I have is that we do not go to daily threads. My last BMB switched to daily threads and it seemed to end all other threads. I think it is great to have more threads than just a randoms thread.
I also like the idea of everyone having their own birth story threads. If you can't AW having a baby, than what the hell is worthy of an AW? Seriously. I think it would be great to make more comments on birth stories than just posting love-its.
Oh I've already made it known what I want to eat. Chinese food from my favorite restaurant the SECOND I give birth lol a huge blue slushie from 7-11 A turkey sub. plus snacks that will be packed in the snack bag
@camichael84 I did the same thing with comparing pics from last pregnancy (I'm approaching 1st preg 38 weeks size, and already over that peak weight!) I stress on occasion but mostly don't care. The only bummer is I'm more uncomfortable sooner and know it's likely not going to get any more pleasant. Until we snuggle these babies. At least I know how awesome that will be!
@camichael84 You look absolutely gorgeous darling! Try not to let the size get you down, I know it's hard, I'm having the same issue right now except this is baby #1 for me.
Aaaaaaaand the cat saga continues. No issues last night for DH. But first thing this morning he went outside to take the garbage to the curb, and the crazy neighbour lady came outside, snuck around to our door, and when he came back from the driveway she was standing in our front entry way, IN OUR HOUSE, shaking a treat bag. Miguel, to his credit, stayed under the bed which is his usual sleeping place, didn't move a muscle. DH immediately asked her to leave, that she was trespassing, and he was calling the police. And she CAME AT HIM with the treat bag and threw it at him, started screaming that she was going to get the cat, it wasn't fair, she had bonded with him and we were being cruel considering she needed a therapy animal... yeah you need some kind of therapy lady. So DH got around her, went inside, called the police and called our landlord and called me. I rolled up to see 2 police cars parked in the middle of the road, lights on, and they had her down on the ground in cuffs. Like holy shit guys, I thought my head was going to explode. My landlord was there and just completely astounded by her behaviour. And then the father ended up getting arrested because he was trying to intervene between the cop and his daughter. DH said she threw a fist full of pebbles at the cop, so they took her down.
Needless to say, she was arrested, our landlord is charging her with trespassing, and we're backing her up on that, and DH decided he wouldn't pursue the assault charge because he said he was clear she had some mental health issues and he wanted to make sure she got help for that. Her father confirmed she had a type of schizophrenic disorder and has been off her medications for a while but he didn't force her to take them because he said her therapy animal (which was also a cat) helped her more then the medications, so she is being taken directly to the psychiatric unit at the local hospital. I really hope she gets some help. They are both being evicted, thank goodness.
Just had my 35 week ultrasound! All along I have been saying this kid is big! Per ultrasound she is measuring about 37 weeks and 6 pounds 8 oz give or take 8 oz. thank god she's not coming out my vagina! Her feet are nicely planted right next to each other under my right rib cage and her head digging into the pelvis, she is cramped in there.
I'm glad it's getting sorted out because that's just insane. I figured she had some sort of serious mental health problems, but I'm still sitting here shaking my head.
Poor Miguel. Give him some extra treats for his trouble.
Honestly what really blows my mind about this whole situation is how nice and (I hate this word but it applies) normal they seemed when we first met them. I keep thinking back to my mental health rotation in nursing school and remembering working with people that it just took one little thing to set them off, and usually not taking their medication hugely contributed. I feel really sad for her more than anything, but I'm glad that it didn't escalate past this and the police and my landlord backed us up.
@yellowrose314 - what a crazy story! But it sounds like the drama should settle down for a little while.
My random: It should be mandatory to wear deodorant when flying. The last flight of my trip yesterday was on a small plane and there was a pretty awful stench. Thank goodness it was a really short flight!! I think it even bothered the flight attendants because they made an announcement encouraging everyone to open their air vents (which helped a fair amount!)
@JennM205 unfortunately I can't make changes to the thread. I've tried via mobile and desktop and can't edit. Probably because admin changed it to an announcement so only admins can edit??? I can comment, quote, and love-it but that's it
Since so many people seem to be in favor of individual announcements I guess we can request to have it unpinned but, to me, the post as it's written now seems pretty clear that we encourage individual threads and encourages people to include the link to their own birth announcement thread. If we unpin the thread and go strictly with individual labor and birth threads my concern would be announcement threads getting lost onto page 2 or 3, especially since our general activity has increased (15 pages of randoms in 3 days) the closer we get to Sept. babies being born. I suspect once our group is split more into 50/50 with newborns and pregnant moms the number of daily threads about specific issues questions will also greatly increase. Plus we will probably have days where there are 3+ birth announcements. At least with 1 dedicated post you know about, and won't miss, the announcement of a new Sept baby because they are marked with number of new responses.
Personally, I like the way it's set up now and the way we discussed in last month's randoms thread. I like logging on and seeing immediately if there is a new birth (I wanna look at the babies first!). Then mom has the option to post an individual thread if she wants. I like having that post limited to love-it's otherwise the thread will be bogged down with congratulatory responses (same as a love-it) when it's already gonna take a while to load as it's pic heavy.
Just my .02 and I'm fine with whatever the group decides.
@yellowrose314 That is bat shit crazy! I'm glad the situation didn't get any worse. This seems like something from a tv show, so insane. Hope this will be the end of it and the lady gets the help she so clearly needs.
@yellowrose314 That is out of control!! I just keep thinking that I'm so glad you saw your cat pawing at the door when you were walking around with the treat bag or else who knows how long it would've taken to get things straightened out! Wow!
@yellowrose314 well I'm glad for you guys that nothing worse happened and soon they'll be out of your vicinity. It always makes me sad when people go off their medication that they actually need. I don't understand if they were relying on a therapy animal to help her why they didn't get one of their own after her last therapy animal passed. Seems like they were just creating an explosive situation that was going to become a problem sooner rather than later.
