My bleeding was pretty much none existent for almost two weeks, I just wore a liner and only had super light spotting a random day or two, now I'm having to wear a pad again. I wonder if this might be my period, I'm almost 5 weeks PP, I've had slight cramping the past couple of days, and I got two lovely pimples a few days ago that are just now starting to go away...hmm. Anyone else get their period this early PP??
My bleeding was gone for two days and came back at nearly 5 weeks, and Doctor says it could be my period, and to monitor for heaviness. I am a little spooked though... I had big time bleeding during my c-section and a heavy return 2.5 weeks later that prompted a D&C. I had a followup ultrasound a week ago that showed a normal looking uterus, so crossing my fingers this is just lovely Aunt Flow. Postpartum is so weird and unpredictable.
Went to my OB from a six week appointment today. She thinks I have PPD.
She gave me a prescription of Lexapro and some names of counselors to call. She also cried with me in the office during the visit.
I hate that I'm having such a tough time when DS is such a great/easy baby.
Just chiming in to say that you're doing the right thing, and this makes you a great mother! I've had to take antidepressants for anxiety before, and it's so hard to admit you need to do that, but it can make a world of difference. You'll get through this, although it may feel like an uphill battle today and every day!
@ellipears Unfortunately, depending on your level of tearing/damage, it is very normal. I was swollen right up until 6 weeks pp. That can be longer or shorter for people depending on their specific delivery injuries.
Had my follow up appt yesterday at five weeks...I had three tears two first, one second degree during labor and had stitches done on two of them. Yesterday there were two emergencies that my midwife had to attend to...so I was told it would be about an hour wait for my appt, okay. I had LO and my 5 year old with me. Three hours later I saw the midwife after sitting in the lobby for just over an hour and in the room for two. The midwife did not look at me, check my stitches, nothing. I never even got undressed. She told me since I'm low risk for PPD/PPA (scored a 1 on some test the nurse had me take) and my blood pressure is low, she wasn't worried about me, had me wait another 15 minutes for her to print my after visit paper in her office, gave me a hug because she felt bad, and told me to wait until six weeks for sex and to call if I had anything change and any concerns. What The He!l??
