@KMeredith82 There is a site called primary.com that has cute, solid-color pieces in a large selection of colors. They are pretty basic, but no characters or slogans. I bought some of the polo onesies and the hoodies for our LO, but the girl stuff is cuter! It's not as affordable as say, the three-packs you can pick up at Target and whatnot. But the prices aren't crazy. Also Burt's Bees Baby has some cute stuff for girls on their website.
@KMeredith82 Old Navy and H&M have some awesome options for baby clothes that don't have the tag lines or characters. I mean they have those too but we opt for the more modern designs.
Is it terrible that I'm looking forward to my hospital stay?! Summer is getting to me earlier than usual, and I'm pretty excited to have two days in the hospital just cuddling my newbie, and not worrying about my big kids. Being with them 24/7 and being pregnant is harder than I guessed it would be.
@Stephanie7693 not at all! I feel the same way, the first few days are so special and then once you go home it's like it's time to find a new routine. I'm looking forward to it as well!
@Stephanie7693 and @Lynnlove28 We toured the hospital today where I'll be delivering and I got very excited about being there for a few days! Everyone was super friendly, it seems very calm, there is a "pantry" with free coffee and snacks for 24 hours, all of mom's food is paid for and you can order anything from the various hospital food places (Jamba Juice, Chick-Fil-A...). I am a FTM so perhaps this is normal everywhere but it sounds great and I am pumped!! (Although maybe I focused on much on the food availability!)
I am so tempted to create a "my first postpartum poop" thread.
I just had mine and while it was a success, I also just had a WTF moment. The more I put pressure to let it out, my colostrum from both boobs dripped onto my legs. WTF????
I just put toilet paper on top of my nips to prevent further squirting lol and proceeded to finish what I started. Sorry not sorry, TMI eh?
@AliKay20 maybe the thread should be titled postpartum grossness... I'm sure we will all find many more surprising and disgusting things our bodies will do to us!
I think it would be fun if a postpartum thread in general was created. I've seen them on other birth months. That way those who have given birth can talk about post pardum stuff and those of us still waiting can read what we have to look forward to! Could be fun to read.
@entropicallyfavored that is not normal for a hospital as far as I know! But it sounds awesome! I'm looking forward to being alone with baby, and having a button to push when I need something lol. It's also sounding like a nice break from the big kids and the house /chores. The only down side of the stay will be having nurses checking on me and torturing my uterus every couple hours that part still makes me cringe when I think about it!
@AliKay20 haha I remember feeling like I'd conquered the world after my first post-partum poop. I definitely think a post-partum thread is a great idea!
With DS1 I tore badly and was too scared to poop. That and the pain meds resulted in me not pooping for almost a week after. I don't recommend that. It was worse than childbirth. This time I didn't tear (silver lining of a small baby, plus second time around), and I declined the pain meds. Postpartum poop was thankfully less traumatic this time. Good thing. I'd already been through enough!!
