@Thscary Ugh, I hope whatever is catching up to you comes and goes quickly!
@KimmySchmidt What a weird situation to be in - I don't envy you one bit! But...good luck with your demo; I hope you get the job! (Aaaaand then they can start interviewing for your substitute...kind of late in the game...but seems that's their preferred method of hiring, so...)
I had a weird dream last night, too! Baby was born (a boy!), really healthy, and was the calmest baby ever. Like, so calm I didn't need to nurse him until we were home from the hospital. For some reason, I didn't find that odd. I was chastising myself, though, for waiting so long because he was having trouble latching and I figured it was probably because he hadn't had enough practice. Also, for some reason we had set up the nursery and baby gear at my Mom's house. So when we came "home" from the hospital, we couldn't actually go home because none of baby's stuff was there and it was really annoying. I remember telling DH in my dream that, "We should have thought that through better." lol
Last night I had the first dream about this baby. Baby was a girl and was tiny. The entire dream she was laying on my chest. She had a head full of dark hair with one single, simple pink bow. Nothing really exciting or weird about the dream, just the first time this pregnancy that I actually saw a baby in my dreams.
I legit pouted last night because Tom Hiddleston and Taylor Swift are dating (making out/hanging out). Here I am pregnant with DH's baby and apparently my hormones think Mr. Hiddleston is mine too??
I had a hard time hearing about the alligator attack. I ugly cried in the car praying for that little boy (and I'm not someone who prays often). I just can not imagine. That is a real life horror movie.
@Steephers123 - I adore him. And, while I'm generally ok with Taylor Swift, my first (irrational) though was, "Stay away from him! He's too good for you!" lol
@Steephers123 I had to google Tom Hiddleston just to confirm he was who I thought he was (he is). I would be pouting too if I didn't have the WTF initial thoughts first: 1) She always seems so child-like mentally and maturity wise to me, whereas he seems the opposite....mature, older, wiser. How do they as a combo work? 2) After googling him I cannot believe how young he is (35)!?! I seriously thought he was closer to Johnny Depp in age. Looking young, but based on his apparent maturity in how he talks/acts I figured he was closer to 45.
@LakeR2014 Johnny Depp is 53. So nearly 20 years older than Tom Huddleston. I know who he is from The Avengers/Thor, but that's about it. But I'm with Anna on being anti-Taylor Swift, so I don't think they mesh based on that alone. Haha.
Had my 28 week appointment today and I just have to say how thankful I am to have an OB that is so attentive, knowledgeable and genuine. From explaining what I truly don't understand (diabetic women generally having more amniotic fluid) to being completely reassuring (c-section anxiety anyone?), he's an absolute gem. Between my OB that delivered the first two and my current OB, I've really lucked out!
Side note - Both babies are head down. Awesome. Wish I could say that it mattered for me. I fear I may always be a little bitter about not being able to have a vbac.
Random today - my coworkers just informed me that the female coworkers at my company are throwing me a baby shower. I'm so excited! I thought they might, but wasn't sure as I'm the one who organizes all the parties, pot lucks, charity events, etc for the company. When she told me and confirmed that the date they want to do it works for me, she even made mention of that fact: 'It's going to be hard to plan this as you usually do everything for these types of events, but we just had to give you one. We're going to have <new girl> plan it as initiation.' Lol. She'd be the next in line to plan events anyway so it's not really initiation, but I thought it was funny that she mentioned they had to determine who'd organize it as I'm the one who typically does it.
@LakeR2014 - That's awesome! I'm planning the baby shower for my pregnant coworker because I love party planning. I mentioned it to the only other women who ever plan and they said "oh good. I refuse to plan any more of those, it's too much work" Welp, there goes the idea of them throwing me a little diaper baby sprinkle! (That's what we've done in the past for baby #2, not something I was just expecting for myself). Oh well!
My husband's work told him that they'll be doing a shower for him as well. He works at a different location than he did when we had my first so they're really excited to be doing this one for him - yay!
@AnnaS930 Aww! I love when they do showers/gifts for the guys! We do that here typically - or at least I plan it. Its usually not until they have the baby though. We get notice of baby's arrival, I send out an email seeing if anyone wants to put in for a gift for the new dad, and then take the collected money to get items off their registry, a cute outfit, and then either a Wegmans giftcard or a giftcard to a restaurant we know they like. Not a huge to do - but the people we work for are really generous so the dad's are always stunned and appreciate when they come back and see a shower of baby stuff all over their desk.
I apparently bump too much at work. The internet gods at my company have added the bump to its blocked sites list. Now to bump during the day I have to be on mobile. So I will still check in but probably not as often.
This week is the week to sign up for secret pals at work. I'm debating on whether or not to participate this time. It is so much fun, but will run until the end of September and I'm due 9/28 so it would be cutting it close.
@marajay6 Oh, that's the worst! Mobile bumping is so much more cumbersome. Maybe you'll get lucky and they'll change their minds and take it off the no-no list...my company has done that before...blocked a site for a day or two and then it magicically comes back!
@LakeR2014 - His previous location did something for him after baby came. An LLBean boat tote (this is where he works) with baby's initials monogrammed on it, filled with a few baby outfits and awesome LLBean baby gear, some toiletries/bath goodies for baby, and an American Express giftcard that was to be used specifically for husband and I to have a date night. It was incredibly thoughtful. Sounds like this will be a pre-baby shower, but we'll see!!
@Sbrown721- You've got discharge coming from a lot of different orifices at this point - that seems like a pregnancy level up! Congrats!
@AnnaS930 That's a level up!?! Oh man! I feel like I need to invest in some serious liners, pads, and nursing pads to prepare...thankfully I've managed to not have much on the leakage front so far....but apparently that's all about to change!
Due to baby's stubbornness the last week on moving - I get an impromptu ultrasound today! I'd be more worried but saw the doctor yesterday and the baby had a strong heartbeat, this is just for follow-up. I'm all excited for an unexpected look at baby! Haven't seen Nugget in 7 weeks! (Coincidentally I hadn't realized it had been that long until I actually did the math....the time has flown by, wow!)

I just BARELY have anything leaking...nothing that comes even close to needing a nursing pad. It's hardly noticeable, but it's oddly good to know that my boobs can do their job

I don't remember as much discharge coming from my orifices as I'm getting this time... enough boob leakage to leave a small stain in my bra, lots of leukorrhea, and the one I know didn't happen last time-- constant ass sweat. So do I get an extra level up?
@camichael84- Because I am a huge butt-sweater during pregnancy.. I'm all for the extra one-up for that one. I have certain khaki capris that I can't wear on hot days because I've had a butt sweat mark on them before.. traumatizing
@AnnaS930 I'm too scared to wear light colored pants. I've started jokingly blaming my husband for the ass sweat (and belly hair). I've told him it must be his DNA coursing through my blood causing it because he is a far sweatier, hairier person than I am.

Yes. All kinds of yes. I'm telling my husband this for sure.
@JennM205 we sign up by filling out a form with our interests and other info about us and then draw names as to who we will provide gifts to. It a minimum of one gift per month to get for your secret pal, but I usually do more than that. Then at then end we have a big reveal lunch where we find out who our mysterious gift givers are!
@Sbrown721 I know what you mean about feeling weirdly reassured by boob leakage. I'm kind of nervous about having issues breastfeeding (no reason, just FTM anxiety), and I know that fluid now doesn't necessarily mean easy feedings later, but I'm happy to see they're doing more than just looking good!

My daughter is a hoodlum already. Had a 3D ultrasound yesterday and she was not having it. Only let us see half of her face and blocked the other half with her arm, at one point she even laughed at us!!! the place i went to is such an awesome facility and invited me back, free of charge, at another time to try and get a better shot, hopefully she isnt as rude.
It was awesome to see her again, i had not seen her since April 7th. Also great to re-confirm she is still in fact a SHE. Little turd!!

That sounds so fun! You could still try to do it if you wanted to...it'd be hard to miss out! If anything, maybe you can have a work friend on standby in case you deliver early that can drop off your last gift of two for you...that would really throw your secret pal off. They'd think for sure it couldn't be you since you'd be out but surprise! You might have to miss the reveal lunch, though, which would stink.

Just want to add that it may help these last several months you have before your maternity leave go by quicker, too. (To me, that would be a good thing. ) It sounds like lots of fun!
I think I've mentioned that my SIL is also pregnant right now (due in late August!) but I just got her baby shower invite in the mail! I'm excited for her but also nervous about going because I really won't know anyone there and its awkward that I don't know my fiance's family... He isn't that close with them so I didn't get introduced until last year (even though we have been together for almost 5 years now) (Side note- he hasn't met my extended family either but that is more because of timing never working out)
@Megan324 - Luckily I think being pregnant helps in those kinds of situations. People will likely ask you lots of pregnancy questions, but I think that's a good thing (Keeps conversation moving and avoids other topics you might not be dying to talk about). You'll have a great time and hopefully strengthen some bonds for yourself, regardless of how close fiance is to them!
- I think McKenna noticed the baby kicking her yesterday when I was rocking her for her nap. She sat up and gave my belly an odd look for a good 10 seconds.
- I've ordered two things off Etsy for the nursery, and I'm so excited for them to get here! Will share pics in the nursery thread when they arrive. Also, I think I may buy a third thing and tell DH about it after the fact. He knows I'm going to get it, but thinks I'm going to wait a couple more weeks to order it. (I know this subject has come up recently, and I am not the penny pincher in our family. I'm not reckless, but I like to shop. And new things.)
- Got Arby's for lunch. Forgot to order my turkey sandwich without mustard, so I went back and bought a second one. Normally, I would have just picked off the side that had mustard on it and eaten it anyway, but the thought of not having the whole sandwich today made me want to cry. So DH has a turkey sandwich in there to take to work tomorrow for his lunch.
- Last night I stole DH's pillow because it is far comfier than mine (I keep a pillow on top of the Snoogle because the Snoogle doesn't do much for my head support). He just took mine and didn't put up a fight because he is awesome, but I'm going to go buy myself one like his tonight, so he can have it back.

@JennM205 haha that really should have been thought out better. Thats hilarious!
