I've decided (me, not we because H doesn't care as much) that we're not sharing their names AND we're not making a big announcement of their sex because people are assholes and say really disturbing or rude things. These are our only babies, I give zero shits about what other people think (my family says "oh but people will be mad!" Then they can get pregnant, have their own babies and do shit differently, dammit!)
We didn't share our short list of names the first time around. We went into labor with three choices and chose the right fit once DD was born. It was really special. We didn't have too many negative reactions when we told people we weren't sharing our names or that we were going to decide when she was born. But who even cares? They'll find out eventually.
For girls we are pretty set on Daphne Vera and Elise Rosemary.
For boys we are thinking potentially, Evan Thomas (Thomas for my dad) and Duncan Anderson (Anderson is my grandmother's maiden name and I really want to honor her in some way). Is it weird that both Duncan and Anderson end on N's? Does Evan Anderson and Duncan Thomas sound better? Our last name starts with an E if it matters.

Love the girls' names! I don't know why but I like the sound of Evan Anderson and Duncan Thomas. But both combos are great and I don't mind the two n's at the end. I also love the first name Anderson/anders but my husband being an Andrew says it's too close.
@nolemomma14 I really love Cooper. Our first would have been William Cooper had she been a boy, but we named her Kate so I don't feel like we can use William for any future baby's first names and I don't like Cooper paired with any of our other first names but I still love it!
We didn't share any names with our first, and in fact didn't even end up using any of them anyway! We did use my grandmothers name (Blythe) as a middle name. I like using a family name, and if this baby is a boy we're thinking about using my husbands first name + family middle name and calling him by his middle name. DH grandmas maiden name was Rex and I'm leaning toward that for a middle name/ nick name.
@ashanne88 I really love your girl name, though I'm partial to Vera because we've picked it as the first name for our baby. Daphne is one of those names that you don't hear very often but it's just so pretty. I love the combination of the two!
Both this time and last pregnancy we started sharing the names once we had picked one for a girl and a boy. I haven't gotten any negative comments or feedback either time, everyone just tells us how much they like the names and can't wait to find out boy or girl, meet them, etc.
@BumpingUpto3 I love the name Sawyer! That would be my pick for sure! I loved the name myself but my good friend has it as a last name so it was too close to for us.
We have no boys names picked out because H refuses to even discuss it until we know if we're having a boy or a girl, but we still have girls names left over from last time. I'm going to really, really pull for the name Holden though because I love it!
Meredith and Molly are our top choices for girls. I think they both sound nice with DD's name, but we can't decide on a middle name. Any suggestions for either/both options?
We had come up with Elisabella as a girls name but couldn't figure out a middle name. Come up with Robert Maxwell as the boys name. Found out yesterday that we are having a boy. Guess that's why we couldn't figure out a girls name. Even though I love Elisabella.
@emy730 That's kinda where we are, too. We were thinking if we did Clementine Josephine (Two Syllable Last Name) then we could call her Emme Jo. We have two other girl names that we love, too. It's going to be a hard decision.

Now that I LOVE!
I'd use Josephine in a second (nn Josie), but my brother's name is Joe and I think it's too close.

@karaelaine1991 I love them all. I really like Lucy but my husbands cousin had a baby the same time as our first and her name is Lucy Jo so that's out for us. I also love the name Charlotte and that's at the top of my list when we find out and start discussing names. I also really like the name Theodore but I have a cousin who has a little boy with that name.
@cjs260@emy730@Carly79 thanks all! We're pretty set on them so I'm really hoping none of my several pregnant friends in my mom group uses either Lucy or Teddy for their babies. One in particular is a huge fan of "old man" names (her other kids are Charlie, Henry, and Alfie), so I'm particularly nervous that she might snag Theodore... fingers crossed I can use them!!
@cjs260 as someone who has a very popular Beatles song with my name in it - if I had a dollar for every time someone sang it at me I would have $18,000. Drove me nuts as a kid because people act like they are so original and as though I never heard it before so it was always kind of awkward. I am sure Clementine could be serenaded quite often - doesn't mean she would hate it - she might turn out to love it- just something to consider
@cjs260 Both Clementine and Josephine are on our girls list! I really love them both and your nickname is cute. The other "out there" nickname I have heard of for Clementine is Lemon.
@Karaelaine1991 Lucy Charlotte is so pretty. Lucille would have been our daughters name but my SIL named her daughter Lucy. I love your boys name too!
The other top names on our list are Beatrice, Corrine, Frances, Eloise, Katherine and Alice. She will have 3 names plus a last name. Our top contender is Katherine Beatrice Alice Last Name. I know it is a mouthful but whatever. We would call her Beatrice nn Bea. My grandmother and mother and my self all have the same first name so I feel the need to carry it on. My mother went by her middle name. I know it is a pain but again, whatever!

@susykat77 That is so funny that you say that, because all of my friends already call the baby Lemon, and jokingly said they will continue to do so after birth. I told H that if we go with Clementine it would actually make sense! Corrine is on our short list, too! I also love Eloise!
@susykat77 and @cjs260 I LOVE Corrine so much but I have a niece with that name so it's out for us. It's such a beautiful, strong name that isn't very common (which I love). As much as DH and I are disagreeing on names, we don't even have a "maybe" list going yet. Ugh.
How does everyone feel about the name Hazel for a girl? We really like traditional names, but want something unique and are trying to avoid some of the really popular ones. I don't know anyone who has recently named their baby Hazel, but maybe that's just me...what about you all? Is this one that you see cropping up more frequently with your friends?

I've actually seen a lot of that, especially since The Fault in Our Stars came out. I'd say if you like it, go for it, but if you're someone who's trying to go for a unique name, recognize that it might not be as uncommon as you think.
Re: Names?
Looking for guidance.. after a lot of thought we've come up with the following four: what do you guys think?
- Eva Olivia
- Cora Isobel
- Keira Elizabeth
- Riley Eloise

We have a son Ell.iott and daughter E.vi.e (pronounced EE-VEE). Thoughts on the below names?
Sawyer
Zachary
Kyle (my mother's name is Kyle)
Jamison/Jameson (my husbands favorite, I'm not a huge fan because of the alcohol association)
Desmond
Other recommendations to add to our list? Our last name rhymes with "Inch"
Edited because I forgot one of the names we had on our not-written-down list!

Girl: Lucy Charlotte (Lucy for Saint Lucy and Lucy in the Narnia series and Charlotte for Charlotte's Web)
Boy: Theodore Daniel, nickname would be Teddy/Ted (Theodore for Theodore Roosevelt, best president EVER and Daniel for DH)
Love your name choices!

Also, regarding the serenading, she WILL be sung to by 80% of the people who hear her full first name. My name is Susanna, so I know firsthand.
