It says on the initial post that you are welcome to share any details about labor and delivery so I think that is sufficient. Share as little or as much as you'd like!

Now that we're starting to get close....I'm wondering if people would be interested in starting a thread for birth stories? The announcement thread is great and all, but I want all the juicy details!!
Or would it be easier to just include the birth story with the announcement? Mamas could go back in and edit their announcement if they aren't up for typing it all out initially?

I agree with this!
Additional thought, since the announcement thread is a no comment thread, it won't be 72 pages long with people asking questions/commenting on the birth story details . Which I'm kind of a fan of for ease of reading.
I was just reading through the May and June birth announcements threads and saw that they were almost all just the general stats though. I figured they must have put their birth stories somewhere else then, like in their own threads. If people are willing to share in the birth announcement thread that's cool too though.

I would imagine that's all they had time/energy to post.

I was trying to find a registry thread, but couldn't....here's my question - Does anyone know if you can still add and delete items from a Target baby registry AFTER the completion coupon has been issued? I'm due for my coupon this week, and I am still having a hard time making up my mind about what I want to buy.
On some of the other months BMBs I've seen people post the full birth story in their own thread so people can comment etc and then they put the link to that thread in their announcement.
I am pretty sure I am headed to bed rest. Headaches, extreme rapid swelling and seeing stars. However, my lab work is considered normal, so I am doing a 24 hour urine now. They already mentioned a C/S though. Since my symptoms started at noonish and I had 3+ pitting edema by 5pm, they are concerned. Dh is freaking out. Instead of 9 weeks till baby, we could be a week, or 2 or 3......
Needless to say, we organized a bunch of stuff this am. Now we have a better idea if what's going on.
@becausebabyiamapug Hope everything goes okay! @mdmomma1217 With DS registry I could add stuff. We changed our mind on a stroller we wanted and changed it in the store when before we purchased with coupon in hand.
@BecauseBabyIamAPug thinking of you and baby! Hopefully baby stays put for awhile longer.
@MDmomma1217 I got my target completion coupon a couple weeks ago and I just added some stuff to the registry. A lot of miscellaneous things like shelves that I didn't want on the registry before the shower.
@BecauseBabyIamAPug fingers crossed for you! I am in the middle of my 24 hour urine collection and it's stressful. I hope you get some clear answers and feel comfy with whatever plan you and your doc come up with. Keep us posted!
@mdmomma1217 Yep you can, I've added things since and used the coupon. I've also used the friends and family ones too and just sent them to different emails of mine/my DH.
@BecauseBabyIamAPug, thinking of you and baby! I hope that you and your dr are able to put a plan in place that will keep baby cooking a while longer and puts you & your husband's minds at ease!
@BecauseBabyIamAPug I hope everything goes well for you and your family! Just remember it's out of your control - I don't know why, but that always helps to put my mind at ease.

Anybody know random info on life insurance? I was hoping to get on at my husband's employer but I can't mid-year and pregnancy does not qualify as a life changing event (which I want to tell them is total bs, by the way). I thought about getting life insurance through my car insurer and basically told the agent that I want something temporary because I can get On my husband's once October hits and he told me there aren't really plans designed to be temporary. He said it's a good idea to get on my husband's in oct but also keep the plan through them. Why would I need two plans? Do I need life insurance before October or should I get this plan through my car insurer? Anybody know of temporary plans available?
Anyone know if there is any slings or carriers that baby can nurse in?
You can nurse in pretty much any carrier as long as baby is facing inwards (which is better for their hip joints anyways). I have a Beco Gemini and used to nurse DD in it. I didn't start nursing her in it til around 6 months, so I can't speak for how easy or difficult it would have been before then, but at that age when she was able to support her own head it was a breeze. Nobody could even tell what I was doing. I was at a park with DH, my sister, and BIL, and I nursed her to sleep without any of them even noticing I had fed her until I mentioned it.
I also nursed her before 6 months in my ring sling. It was a bit trickier because she was only 2 months or so, so I had to readjust the rings to loosen her and move her position, and there was no subtlety or modesty about it, but I was able to nurse her while walking. I just put my nursing cover on because that was what I was comfortable with, but other moms I was with in that walking group just nursed boob out while walking and nobody ever said a word to any of us about it.
Ugh. Looks like I have PUPPPS again. I had it with DD as well and it got so bad I had scratch marks on my belly. So far I only have about three little itchy spots so hopefully it doesn't get much worse, but I'm not holding my breath on that since I know how uncomfortable it was last time.

Honestly I'd go ahead and take it out, you really never know when you're going to need it. As far as having more than one plan, it's totally up to you. I have a plan through my employer, through my husbands employer, and a whole life policy that was taken out when I was a baby. They aren't expensive, except for maybe the whole life can get kinda pricey, so unless the policy through your car insurance is a hassle to use or is expensive it doesn't hurt to have more than one. I hate to be all morbid and Debbie Downer but you never know when your time is up and having your family protected is important.
@austinjl I happen to know some about life insurance. I work in financial services. There aren't any temporary policies, unfortunately. There's term life, but the terms are very lengthy...like 25 years. His suggestion to carry the two policies is probably just him not knowing how much coverage you want or what you'd be eligible to buy through your husband's employer. Plus, if your husband changed jobs, you'd obviously still have the policy outside of his employer. Probably wouldn't hurt to get a quote from him, for the amount you'd like to be insured for and weigh it against what your husband's employer will offer!
@austinjl I dont know a lot about insurance, except what I learned when we got our policies sorted out. What I found was that the insurance we got through work was not enough - it would basically cover funeral expenses and give a bit of a buffer to get through several months while the surviving spouse gets things in order. So we have our work coverages which our employers pay for, and then we each have our own separate policies that are bigger and would provide more support to the surviving family members. Have you inquired about what your DH's coverage through work would be like for you? I would start there and see how big the policy is and then get a second policy started right away if the work coverage doesn't quite meet your needs. That's about the extent of the knowledge/advice I have
@austinjl - @DobbysSock makes very good points. My husband's work only allows up to $100k. Also, if you got the policy through your car insurance group now, figured out you could get something cheaper and better elsewhere, and stopped paying, there's no penalty or problem. Basically that "cancels" the policy.
