I was fine until 36-37 weeks and I have turned into a crying/frustrated/sappy/bitchy mess and I don't even see it happening until I am in the midst of a breakdown. The breakdown lasts about 2 minutes and it's like I need a "release" and then I am good for a few more hours. DH keeps sending me "love you" texts, or pats my back when I cry over not getting socks in the washer before it was too late in the cycle, but I am getting annoyed with myself so I can't imagine how he is feeling.
I've had contractions for 2 months. Always painful. Bad back pain and lower uterus pain (cramps) with my uterus tightening. I've been on Nifedipine (which keeps me from having too many contractions). Doctor didn't want me to go into preterm labor. The meds helped SO much. WELL. I turned 36 weeks this week, so doctor wanted me to go off the meds (let my body do it's natural thing since we are almost to full term). As most people know, contractions are worse at night. Well. Last night was the first night without the meds. These contractions are SO much more painful. It has me waking up in pain, unable to get to sleep, it's so much worse than it had been before. I am freaking out about not being able to stop them anymore. They have started being painful in the whole uterus, and my back feels like it's just ripping apart.
I am so frustrated, because I don't know of anyone else personally (no friends or family went through this) who have had such horrible (fake) labor pains for weeks on end. I don't want to go another 4 weeks with these things not causing any cervical change. It's exhausting both mentally and physically. My doctors appointments are Mondays, yesterday my cervix is starting to thin, but that's it. I seriously hope next Monday, (at 37w2d) that my cervix will start opening.
I just feel bad today. Just went back to bed to lie down. Generally not feeling great, feeling hot, a little crampy and back achy. Could baby be making a move? Today was my grandmother's bday. She would be 96 today (passed away in 1998) so I would love baby to share her birthday! Hope I am feeling crappy for a reason !

Is anyone with normally bad allergies finding their allergies getting a lot worse at the end of third trimester? I get allergy shots and take a daily zyrtec, plus am on two nose sprays, and in the last week or so (am 38 weeks now), and it's like my allergies have gone nuts. Not sure if this is because the inside of my nose is swelling more or what, but geez, so stuffy I can hardly breathe over here! A week and two days left before my C-section date, but at this rate, not sure how I'll be breathing by next Thursday! I've tried all the normal remedies... saline wash, decongestant, afrin for up to 3 days, etc etc. Is this a fun end of pregnancy thing??
Going to ask the doctor, but has anyone had severe, stabbing, constant pain under your ribs in your back? It hurt so much last night all I could was cry and not sleep.

I have definitely been having bad sinus pressure since last week. I have also been on zyrtec all pregnancy and I have been trying not to use my Flonase (I think it's fine, but one of the RN's made me nervous about taking it). Sinus rinse has not seemed to help at all. I'm chalking it up to maybe my sinuses are extra swollen? It's the pits.

@kwilliams3402 My allergies have been significantly worse these past couple of weeks. I take Flonase daily but it seems to not be helping as much lately. I'm hoping it gets better after baby is here otherwise it's going to be a longggg Fall.
@kwilliams3402I'm not sure if it's allergies, but I have been significantly more congested the past week or so. I don't usually get bad allergies, but this congestion is reminding me of 1st trimester!
Flu like symptoms ALL DAY. I actually left work at 11 because I was so sick. No vomiting but a lot of the other stuff...
definitely have had some period cramping but nothing time able. I'm weak, achy, and nauseous. I can eat though so that's a good sign. I'm only 37+2 so idk what the heck is going on with me. Ugh. Any moms going through this?
@amandazap I had the same symptoms 2 weeks ago. Felt like death, had strong BH the one day. Drink plenty of water and rest up! I hope you feel better soon!
@amandazap I'm feeling pretty gross today as well. Last night I had a couple pretty strong but irregular braxton hicks contractions, and woke up crampy and with back pain. now just an overall feeling of gross. Probably doesn't mean much, but I'll chalk it up to baby making its final preparations. we'll see how my 37 week appt goes tomorrow.
@jkershaw2013, water was the name of the game yesterday! I was bound and determined to not get dehydrated. Today my stomach still feels weird but overall I am feeling much better. I wonder if it was just a bug..?
@caitlinj187, watch that back pain! Especially if it's in the lower back, that was a sign of labor for me with DS. Good luck, we are almost there!
regarding allergies - one thing to keep in mind is if your allergies are getting worse, there may be food crossovers. That can make you feel stuffy and crappy too.
I'm allergic to mugwort pollen, and a cross reaction is carrot, which I am anaphylactic with. Birch pollen I think is apples, tomato etc.
I don't know if it's the lack of sleep from last night, or because I forgot to take my iron pills yesterday, or if I'm just getting sick but I do not feel good today. Super exhausted and nauseous and just an overall feeling of blah Luckily I have my weekly appointment at 1:00 so if something's up they'll be able to tell me and I'm also hoping I get my first cervical check, I'm 37w4d today.
@amandazap@BrunetteBabe722 I've been feeling off for the last week or so, off and on. My doctor said it's normal to get a general nauseous feeling (basically like morning sickness all over again) in the last few weeks of pregnancy. Just one more thing to love about pregnancy
Count me in the "I just feel like crap" camp. Occasional cramping, soreness, general discomfort, really sore back! Welcome to the end of pregnancy I guess... Also, I'm crazy emotional. I have cried every day this week.
I am SO itchy I could die. Everything itches. The only thing which seems to help even a little is oatmeal baths, and even that just takes it down from "I want to scratch my skin off" to "I still itch."
It's making me unbearably cranky - poor DH. He refers to me being bitchy as "fuss" or if it's really bad "fuss fuss." - I earned my fourth fuss on Sunday.
Brown discharge this afternoon. I am assuming it is from my cervical check that I had this morning? But this is my 4th cervical check this pregnancy and I've never spotted afterwards until today. But how do I know if it's from the cervical check vs the start of my mucus plug? I guess just monitor?

I had some brown spotting after my check today. Midwife said this was normal as the cervix is very vascular and sensitive at the moment. If you have more than brown spotting or bright red blood, I would call your OB for sure.

Baby moves all the time!! Since last night I feel like she's been non stop and it's getting to the point of becoming uncomfortable. I'm 37 weeks tomorrow so not sure if this is normal or not. I thought movement started to decrease around this time.
@ShawnaLynn83 my little guy never stops moving, in fact I feel like he's moving more and more. I think it's because he's out of room so his kicks and movement are stronger and I can feel them a lot easier!
@ShawnaLynn83 It's pretty normal for the type of movements to change (rolling instead of punching), but dr told me LO should keep moving. I forget who mentioned it in one of the threads, but they were getting kicked in the rib even during delivery/pushing. but agreed, super uncomfortable!!!
Very crampy this morning, and when I just got up from my desk chair, holy lightening pain going down my crotch. It's been heavy for weeks, but this was like actual shooting pains, which I know many of you have been having. Good lord baby, what are you doing in there? However, was 0 dilated at my 38 week appointment Tuesday.... so maybe baby boy is just enjoying giving me grief...
Anyone else's baby pushing so hard in one spot that it feel like they might pop out of the skin? The pushes I've been feeling at the top of my uterus on the right side are totally excruciating today! She is always pushing right in that same spot. Ouch!
@Fremdschamen yep. top right of my uterus right under my ribs, with a foot. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if i become bruised eventually. I've even googled "can baby beak their own water" lol.
@caitlinj187 Glad it's not just me, but sorry it is happening to you too! My first born never did this to me.. she just swung her butt back and forth across my stomach all day. This one seems to be trying to escape out the top.

My little guy will kick / punch right where pants sit, if I wear anything that digs in the least little bit. So it's not worth wearing anything but loose clothes, since I end up with a sore spot.

I have definitely had the sensation that my skin is just going to rip open if baby keeps pushing in a certain way. not fun

Apparently I pulled a ligament. It feels like being stabbed in the left pelvis. Dr. Said to take Tylenol as if Tylenol has ever worked on anything. Ugh. 1 week and 4 days until my c-section.
I definitely have a baby foot in my rib.. It hurts pretty bad.. I'm assuming this is just one of those "deal with it" situations... story of our lives, right?
More contractions which are now becoming stronger but I am expecting that they will ease up like last night. I can tell this baby is dropping because of all the pressure and the discomfort these last few days.
