@AliKay20 oh good, you're almost full term! My water never broke, but I've heard it can leak for quite a while, like just keep dripping. Ahhhh I'm so excited for you!
@AliKay20 when I had DD they broke my water but it leaked until she was born. I had a ton of fluid though, like I was soaking the towels the nurses put down as fast as they could get them down. Good luck! Hopefully your doctor calls back soon!
@AliKay20... sounds like your water broke and it's baby time! Mine gushed with my first but kept trickling, my second kid it just trickled until I gave birth. I wasn't able to tell if it was amniotic fluid leaking or if I was peeing myself once contractions got intense. And it was kinda funny, one of the pushes when my son came out literally sprayed my husband and doctor with amniotic fluid! Yes it can travel that far! I was actually laughing while pushing lol
@Sunnyn75 I've had the seeing stars after coughing thing many times starting in first trimester. I was really freaked out the first time it happened. I was afraid my retina had detached! But I did some googling and found other women saying they had the same thing and their doctors said it was just a weird pregnancy thing.
@AliKay20 Squeeee!!! Baby day! Hope everything goes smoothly! Ahh I'm gonna be checking on here all night and day for the next few days waiting for your announcement!
And yeah my doctor told me if the water breaking is more like a small tear on top rather than a hole at the bottom, sometimes baby's head can act like a cork and only let a little out at a time.
Thanks ladies! Just took a bath full of epsom salt then rinsed by taking a nice hot shower.
On call doc said it sounds like water indeed has broke so to head to the hospital in an hour or two. She's going to let triage know I'm en route. This is all so surreal right now! I was JUST playing Super Mario bros. two hrs ago when I felt the urge to pee.
Friend just picked up dog brother. Maybe it really is go time!! Keep you all posted! Fingers crossed for healthy, healthy outcome for all.
Good luck mama! I am working until late here, so I will be checking the board often! Hoping everything is okay with you and baby!

10/2017: Twins confirmed with TTTS at 22 weeks. 10/10/17 Twin B passed after in utero placenta surgery 11/2/17 Twin A & B born 11/26/17: Twin A passed after 24 days fighting in the NICU Benched 6 months BFP: 6/28/18 MC:7/16/18 BO BFP: 10/2/18 EDD 6/15/18
I layer them "back there" if you know what I mean on a pad and wear them to bed. It does help a little. But man I can't wait until this kid comes out. I never appreciated pooping normally so much in my entire life.
Also I upped my yogurt and kiwi fruit intake this week in hopes that it keeps thing happier in the digestive tract.
I've been using them for the last few days and definitely getting relief. It was almost instant relief! It's still there but not nearly as painful as it was. I'm so ready for her to get here so I can function normally again too. Not too much longer at all!
I also started a new heartburn medication this last weekend (pantoprazole). One of the side effects is diarrhea. I was like bring it on! I must say after being on it for almost a week, my heartburn is gone! And my digestive system is back to normal! Its been a good week in the symptom department (minus my man like ankles).

@AliKay20, woohoo! Good luck mama! Can't wait to see the announcement!
@Car0liiine, thanks! I hesitantly did a Google search too, and feel much better about it now . I otherwise feel completely fine with it, like not lightheaded at all, so I'm not too worried. And it hasn't happened since this morning. I'll still mention it at my next appt, but I think I'll live until then
Thanks for the suggestion to eat! Nothing is open right now so we are going to Wendy's drive through that's right by the hospital!
Contractions are 10-11 mins apart! For those that live out in VA/DC/MD - laboring at this hour is not too shabby. We got on 66 west & there was NO traffic. 20 min drive for what it normally takes 50 mins on this road during rush hour. So far, so good. I probably won't post until after triage.
Thanks for all the support! I'm getting shooting lower backaches now with period like cramps. Just gonna let nature take its course.
@AliKay20 I bet it was those chicken nuggets. Lol! I may have to scarf some down in my last few weeks.

LOL @midwestbaby DH & I legit laughed out loud in the triage room.
Doc ran 3 tests- all came back positive that water broke and did cervical check. 1 cm dilated. They are now admitting me. It's chilly in here! Hubs realized he should have brought a hoodie!! Mind you, it's like 90 degrees outside and humid as heck! I am falling asleep though...despite the contractions.
Oh and this was my FIRST cervical check ever. In the beginning, felt like a pap smear then pressure got intense. Just when you think doc couldn't apply more pressure with that forcep thing, MORE PRESSURE. Time that with your contractions. It's a double whammy. I was not having it but thank goodness it passed.
@AliKay20 yahoo! So excited for you! Sending lots of good labor vibes your way!

@AliKay20 cervical checks in the middle of contractions are the worst. Hope your labor goes as smooth as possible! Sleep if you can, your body needs it!
AliKay20 is only like 4 days ahead of me as far a due date so this has my nesting instincts kicked into high gear! Since her first post I already went to the store and got the stuff for padsicles and they are in the freezer, final load of baby stuff is in the dryer right now, and I'm about to sterilize some bottles and breast pump parts. Don't think I'll be sleeping much tonight!
@Car0liiine, I know, I think she's 6 days ahead of me! But I'm ready for baby, have been for a week lol. So now I'm just patiently waiting for labor to start and trying to keep up on my clean house. But her post has me mentally preparing for labor and birth... I've just been avoiding putting too much thought into it until now
@AliKay20 that's how it was with my water breaking with my older daughter...they say it can be a high break or low trickle and come with movement. I had to wear a pad until it was time to push!! Good luck with labor have a healthy baby!!!
Still waiting for baby! Contractions are now 2-4 mins apart. Doc recommended I get pitocin and epidural but I told her I'd like to walk around first. Walking def sped things up though compared to laying down. Thankfully most contractions lasted a min or less. I had a 2 min stinker and I felt so dizzy. DH is sleeping while he can as I am just waiting for that green light to push...which may not be for a while without pitocin, apparently.
Obviously if baby is in danger, I'll speed things up with these interventions but right now, I'm kind of just at peace with whenever baby's ready mode. I wish I can just fall asleep right now though and when I wake up, maybe baby will be here...lol jk, well, slightly.
@AliKay20 Hope things keep progressing for you! I think I'm about to go to bed so I probably won't check in again on here until this evening by which time you will have met your baby!! Luckyyy Early congrats, mama!
So baby has been head down in the right position for the past 5 weeks. Laying in bed and I am feeling hiccups at my belly button. I think she's moved. I know I still have time but it's such a bummer! I knew all the gymnastics I felt yesterday wasn't good. Hoping I'm wrong!
@AliKay20 I hope things are going well and progressing. You're going to meet your beautiful little baby so soon!
@Hannah0726 oh man, I hope you're wrong and she's just in a weird position. I kept feeling kicks on my lower side, so I was also concerned, but it turned out LO just was bent with his butt up and feet down. How far along are you? There's still probably time for her to flip back!
@Bookhousegirl 33 weeks Saturday so I have time thankfully. I googled how to tell what positions the baby can be in by feeling kicks and stuff so now I feel like I'm going to be Macgyver for the next couple days. Ha!
I have been having menstrual like Cramping most of yesterday and it was even worse last night. Along with my stomach aching off and on and my upper thighs feeling sore. This final month is starting to kick my butt! I was up and walking about every hour throughout the night.
Re: Symptoms Thread

Yes, I would get in a good meal! If you're not contracting it could possibly be a long time yet before baby arrives (hopefully not too long though.)
stalking this post just to see your updates. Good luck!
