Everything hurts. My uterus feels like it's going to explode. It's comparable to the worst menstral cramps I've ever felt. I'm hott. I'm tired. I can't tell, at this moment, if I'm contracting or just experiencing aweful pain, in general.
i juat want to curl up in a ball on my bed, but I can't because, lucky me, I'm the bread winner in the house. So if I do, we can't pay our bills. I'm just sitting here, trying really hard to keep myself together. This is proving to be an increasingly challenging task.
This is how I was feeling last night! but I don't know if it was contractions, something I ate or just another joy of pregnancy weirdness. I'm also the one working while DH is in grad school. So I feel your pain wanting to go home and rest, but here I am at work trying to keep it together. Hang in there it's only a few more weeks!
Sorry for the tmi but anyone else dealing with vaginal varicose veins? Did not experience this with first pregnancy. It is quite horrific. Not to mention I made the horrible mistake at taking a mirror to see what sort of damage was being done... Yeah not fun. Ugly cried for a bit. don't know if anyone is dealing with this too?

@klittle779 I don't mean to laugh AT you for that post but I did giggle.. only because I totally know exactly how you feel. I stopped being able to see my vag area months ago and the ONE and ONLY time I did use a mirror, I also instantly regretted it. So many changes... eek. I also had a little break down after that. I don't have the varicose veins but was still slightly horrified by what I saw as well. Just another lovely change we go through. I'm sure everything will return to somewhat normal after our LO's arrive.... until then... ditch the mirrors.

This is actually a thing???? Seriously could there be any more weird things that can happen while pregnant? Did you know you had them and then take a look? Does it make your lady bits sore? Everything still feels kinda normal down there for the most part for me from what I can tell. Note to self though...do not get a mirror to find out if that's true or not!

How are you able to even see down there? Are you gumbie?

Yep. I'm wondering how to deal with this one. I'm not sure if there is anything that can be done. I pulled out a mirror yesterday to see what was going on there as well. anyone have advice or is this something that just needs to go away on its own? Does it go away even?
What compels you guys to even pull out the mirror for that purpose????? Speaking of mirrors...where do you stand on the mirror during birth thing? I'm totally against it. Freaks me out just thinking about it. Just get the baby out, I don't need to see the scary things going on to my vagina thanks!
The exhaustion is unreal. I almost took an uber earlier because the idea of walking five avenue blocks while pushing a stroller made me want to curl into a ball and cry. We made it, but no one was happy about that walk.
I took out a mirror the other day to check out what was going on below the bump. I got a good look for about 2 seconds, then thought, "NOPE!" Won't be doing that again.
It's horribly painful. I never had it with my son. I swear as I was pulling out the mirror I was saying in my head "put it down and walk away" I did not use a mirror when I gave birth to my son. The sensation was enough. I was all set watching my beautiful vagina be ripped apart. To each their own I guess! @Kurrant I bought some V2 support thing that was reccomended by OB. Have worn it a few times I'm pretty sure it's used a means of birth control because .... Well just google it.

I am also a STM and did not experience this with my first. I am in the same boat as you but was waiting to see if someone else would post! The only reason I took a mirror and looked is because going number two I felt a lot of pressure. Sure enough a giant vaginal varicose vein! When I told my husband he looked at my 18 month old at the time (so she doesn't understand lol ) and says "what is mommy doing in the bathroom when we aren't in there?" Laughing all the while!! The struggle is real and it sucks!!!
@VS2016 omggg hahaha my husband was doing the same thing with my son who is 20 months. He was like "what do you think takes mommy so long in there" little does he know I'm having a mini break down at my vagina which has now taken on a very similar appearance to Sloth from the Goonies.

Haha Yea . . . I have no intention of getting someone to hold a mirror while I watch the birth. That would creep me out. The reason I took out a mirror to scope out the scene was because I felt some weird raised lines / bumps in the perineum area when I was massaging in the bath and I became concerned. I had no idea what the heck was going on. I mentioned it to DH and he has now stated he refuses to have sex till after baby is born. Normally I would object but I'm ok with it this time...I'd like the area to have as much relaxing time as possible before birth. Apparently perineum varicose veins can cause severe bleeding during birth if your perineum tears . . . freaks me the hell out. Any STMs have experience with this? Anyone know a good way to treat these?
ETA I took so long to write this post out that I missed like 8 replies . . . @Klittle779 That V2 thing looks strange. Does it work?
@Kurrant who knows. I haven't noticed a difference honestly. I have a belly bandit that seems to take more of the pressure off pelvis. It's just a losing battle at this point. Haha. I just found the picture online to be hilarious. Anytime I've worn it DH 's face is priceless. I'm pretty sure it's really deterring him from asking for any action

It's also a big NO for me. I have a friend that declined the offer of a mirror during birth, but she said she was slightly horrified when she could see everything in the reflection of the TV screen in her room.

@TXmamatobeI hope your little fella turns on his own too! Good luck
I'm happy to report that as of my U/S today, the baby is head down and low so the doctor thinks he will stay that way. We will check again in two weeks since I have to get my fluid levels checked via ultrasound anyway. I feel so much better about it!

THANK YOU for the warning...do not look at the OBs glasses...I will pass that info onto my husband too. He will be very grateful. He doesn't want to see a thing that's going on beyond waist level. We've both heard it looks like a murder scene...we'd both rather live in ignorant bliss and never find out!!

I guess I pushed and squeezed my eyes shut because I can only remember voices, not any visuals. Honestly, my OB could have had a fruit basket on her head and I wouldn't have noticed.
Two things.....DAMN YOU SWELLING! My calfs and ankles should not be the same size. Bad body. And second i am so going to look at the vag tonight. Its been a couple months since my last view, when nurse suggested i might have the veins down there. I wanna know so i have something to compare it to after the birth. Im the curious sort.
I got a little freaked out last night, after eating dinner I started feeling very nauseous. I've had the nausea all 3rd tri but this was way more intense. Also feeling a lot of abdominal pain/discomfort. Like stomach cramps, but all over. and baby was moving around a ton which didn't help.I started feeling achy like when you're getting the flu, I could not get comfortable at all so I just went to sleep. I thought maybe it was some sort of BH but it didn't come in waves that I could measure. Just an hour of feeling terrible. Is it possible to get BH but not the wave-like intervals. I was doing a lot during the day and pretty worn out. Today I feel fine so I don't know what's up with my insides.
I felt this way one day a couple weeks ago and I'm pretty sure it was the day my baby started to turn head down. I felt really horrible the whole day, it sucked. I've also had days where I've felt similar (constant cramps/tightness that wraps from the front to the back and doesn't go away in any position) and I'm thinking I was maybe just really bloated those days. I've taken gas relief medication when I've felt like that and it has seemed to help a little bit. Hang in there!

Not sure if I'm crazy but I am totally amazed when I see birth videos ! I think it's totally awesome what our bodies can do and how we can push babies out so it doesn't freak me out to see baby heads coming out of vaginas. Rather the opposite;-) I guess some people like to see the head or the feel the head when they need encouragement. Or just because it is Crazy Special. But as I said I just do not perceive it as gross at all. Thank God everybody can make their own decisions , mirror or not
I am COVERED in hives for the 2nd time this pregnancy. I feel so gross from all the bumps plus putting hydrocortisone cream on twice a day leaves my skin really oily. I can't wait to be able to shower with good old ivory soap again.

Glad I'm not the only one. But dang gas and bloating never hurt so bad! I'm 36 weeks and have not had anything that I can say is 100% a contraction. I feel left out of the party not having any BH symptoms and getting this close!
Apparently I am snoring like chain saw/old man these days and DH has to move to another room. I have never snored or made a sound in my life until now. YIKES!

Me too!! Last night it happened for the 3rd time since I got KU. I'm in a benedryl stupor today.
@Lusitano8 : oh don't feel bad! I ended up in L&D saturday night because of a mild fever and some back/abdominal pain, which I thought were nothing much out of the ordinary. Turns out I was having contractions every 2 minutes. And I'd normally consider myself as pretty in touch with what's going on in my body. So who knows, you may be having some and not realizing it!
STM who experienced preeclampsia late in pregnancy: did you notice any symptoms? When I went in for my 36 weeks appointment yesterday my blood pressure was high so I was sent to triage. While in triage it went below the 140/90 but was still high for me( I typically am 118/55 and it was 130's/70's). They had me do a 24 hour urine sample and blood work. I did have an "excessive" amount of weight gain at 34 week appointment (8 lbs and then 4 lbs this appointment). My feet swell a lot but I am at a desk all day. I had headaches the last week but they went away with Tylenol. My protein level came back at .43 when standard range is supposed to be <.2. However, I FEEL fine. I have an appointment Tuesday but I am just wondering/hoping if it's all a fluke of individual pregnancy symptoms happening all at once? If not when do they typically induce if you have preeclampsia? I would assume my midwife would call me if there were serious concerns so I am not all that worried just wondering.
Anyone else experiencing the difficulty breathing and rapid heartbeat? I have noticed a change in my heart beat when I check my pulse. It has been elevated and also irregular. Usually the breathing and rapid heartbeat happen at the same time. Just curious.
This is the complaint thread correct? I feel the following things: fat, bloated, tired, dehydrated, sore, swollen, uncomfortable, and there is something violently thrashing in my abdomen.
I hate the afternoons where you know the nights will be worse.
I am going to type for a long enough period of time so I can get an attitude adjustment - we're so close - a random stranger told me I looked good - weekly apts are so soon - nursery work time this weekend. . .
A delicious baby is right around the corner!!! I repeat, this is worth it, this is worth it. . .
LO has been switching between hanging out in my stomach area and chilling in my back and It. Is. Driving. Me. Insane. The pressure in my back/butt when she's there is so strong, that I feel like if I were to give one good push she'd be out. I'm not feeling any urges to, but it feels like if I did it would. Ugh. How do I have six more weeks of this?
@kp90, I'm not sure about the irregular heartbeat, but the breathing could be associated with LO being high up in your rib cage and their position if he/she hasn't descended at all yet.
