You guys, this pelvic joint pain! Instead of walking up the stairs I had to hobble with my hands on the steps for support and DH just had to help me out of bed because I couldn't get out of bed by myself. my midwife says it means baby is moving further down and pelvic pain and pressure is to be expected. And I was more active today (did a big house cleaning and went for a walk) but has anyone found any tricks for relieving the pain?
I've been rolling around on my medicine ball. It relieves a lot of pressure and kinda takes the pressure off my hip and back joints.
Been married since 2009. Unicornuate Uterus (yes I menstruate glitter) Several MCs DD born 2013 (our miracle "you can't have babies" baby!)
Every Mother's Day gift idea I have for my mom includes LOs birthstone. I'm not due until May 7th but I'm holding onto a glimmer of hope that things might happen next week and then she'll be an April baby.
I LOVE that idea. Next week will be May (Sunday this week is the 1st). I've been so scared this LO will be an April baby bc: diamonds!

So the past few weeks I've been getting cervical exams to check dilation. And OMG do they fucking hurt!!!!!!!!!!
I know I was properly warned (by y'all), but I was not expecting it to be so freaking painful. And, of course, I am now wondering how on earth I am going to survive labor if a doctor sticking her hand up there to check my cervix is excruciating.
Lots and lots of drugs, I expect. But still, holy moly are those dilation checks painful!!
I think I lucked out last week when I had mine bc I didn't think it hurt. I was expecting pain based on what others were saying, but it wasn't bad. I'm sure I'll be eating these words tomorrow after my appointment. That's ok though because I'm eating everything else these days anyway.
When I went to L&D (ended up being false labor) the Dr. checked me and it was painful. When my normal OB checks me it always us just a little uncomfortable. Thinking the size of the Dr.'s hands has something to do with it.
I've been so on the fence about breastfeeding that I totally dragged my feet with registering for a class and now it is full. In some ways I don't really care any more and I almost want to just stick baby on my boob and what will happen will happen. Which will probably be failure.
@arj14 most hospitals send a lactation consultant around after you have delivered to answer any questions. I say give it your best shot and if you need help or have questions just ask at the hospital also there are really good educational videos online to show you how to get good latching.

You won't fail! Just have the lactation consultant come in and make sure everything looks right and you'll be great
Guys... It's only night one and I'm not sure if I have sleep deprivation or the baby took my brain cells. Actual conversation with my husband while I'm picking up our DS:
Me: OMG (as I brace his head while I'm picking him up). What is that under my hand ? Did the doctors miss this huge bump? DH: that's his ear.
To be fair, it was on the other side, but that is just plain embarrassing.

Hold up! You had the baby???? How did I miss throw? Congrats!!!!
So I just read about some scientists who hypothesized that babies cry during the night to prevent their parents from having sex and creating another baby (that would presumably take away resources from the first baby).

I read this and I honestly though it was a joke. What?!
Went to bed at 10pm. Woke up at 12am. Woke up at 1am. Woke up at 2am. Woke up at 4am with work on the brain, baby on the brain, this stupid birthday BBQ I thought would be a great idea to host at 38w4d on the brain, money on the brain, a stuffy nose, and didn't fall asleep again until 5:15isham. Woke up at 5:50am. Gave up. It's going to be a long day, and I already want to cry.
Just found out they may be inducing me at 37 weeks due to blood pressure and low platelets, that's nine days away. How am I supposed to finish my to do list, which I expected to have a month to finish in a little over a week? Things are getting very real very fast!

Hectic! Sorry lady, but whatever's best for baba. Are you at least on leave for the last week?

Thankfully they pulled me from work, so I'll some time. Doctors said that LO will be perfectly fine to be delivered then and is looking great, so excited to get to meet her soon but still trying to wrap my head around it all!

@NinnyJean so sorry to hear this isn't going to plan. My recent interview with a pediatrician with me citing all of my concerns ended with her telling me to think about what our grandparents had... What they used, set up for babies etc... Everything else is just extras(obviously excluding safety and medical advances). I found some comfort in that. Just try to prioritize what you really need done and try to not stress about the extra stuff you wanted done and can't get to. Or, start ordering around any available friends and family. Delegating could get a lot of it done.

I've heard this before too! ! No idea where it comes from.
It's 'Bring Your Kids to Work' day today at work. I really don't see anything getting done with all the distraction. However, I did get a donut out of it so that's a plus?
I was admitted last night to begin the induction process. My bp was higher than its been once again so decided it was time to get this show on the road. The cervidil didn't work sadly so I'm trying a new drug now. Excited to meet my baby boy.
Pittsburgh ladies (and possibly other cities too) If there's anyone else out there who goes through baby socks like kleenex, Old Navy has a bunch of 3-packs on sale in store for 47 cents/pack. I swear I didn't buy them all.
Guys. I almost lost my shit this morning. I had absolutely nothing to wear. Nothing fits!!!! Luckily, DH says "Just go shopping, and use my card." Isn't he sweet? Then I went to Old Navy for the first time ever and it changed my life. Everything fits. Yay for everything falling into place.
I had a dream last night that I literally forgot my baby. Like I was hanging out with people and then went "oh shit I haven't fed the baby since yesterday". plus I had hot flashes.

Haha yup ... I have about five maternity outfits that fit that I rotate . Def getting worn out now but at least I got my money's worth.

@arj14 They have people at the hospital to help. Just try, that's really all you can do. People are definitely willing to help you out. I agree with the previous response, you can look stuff up online as well.

Membrane stripping, though...I had one midwife that did a great job and another where it hurt like a mother.
How exciting to have a date set!!
Just literally LOL'd
I haven't wanted any coffee either, which is totally unlike me.
Trying to convince myself that these are signs of impending labor but I don't even know if I want them to be. I think I'm just going crazy.
