So these kids for Bring Your Kids to Work Day are having so much of a better day than me. I have my frozen meal and they got a pizza party. I tried to use the excuse with the HR person as she walked by that 'technically' I did bring my kid to work today so I should get pizza. She thought it was funny, but of course no pizza.
It's also really amusing to see how these kids react when they actually see what their parents do all day long. LOL.
@dsmith211 I would have tried the same thing! Your child deserves pizza just as much as the born
So I had a dream last night that Dante turned out to actually be a Vivien. This is even after genetic testing confirmed he is definitely a boy. I was so mad, asking "Where did the penis go?" and "How can a girl have XY chromosomes?" Because as much as I'd love a girl, I'd be mad at the genetic test!

Ialways went to take your (back then it was) daughter to work day with my gramma, who was an editor for a giant research and development company in California. She had old toys from Austria in her office we could play with and she made all the scientists put my drawings on their doors! It was a blast! we ended up being some of the "official kids" for the company, so we got to come in any time they were doing voice recognition software and needed kids voices and the engineering department designed my cousins race car for a derby race.
Oh Glennys chips. What a waste. Just opened tris bag up and the chips don't start until down past the paper clips. Waste of plastic as well as misadvertising!
So I just read about some scientists who hypothesized that babies cry during the night to prevent their parents from having sex and creating another baby (that would presumably take away resources from the first baby).
You learn something new every day......
I read this and I honestly though it was a joke. What?!
Yup! I don't know if they'd ever be able to actually prove it, but it is fun to think about.
I also read today that they've discovered human eggs emit zinc "sparks" that look like fireworks when they are fertilized. For whatever weird reason I think that's really beautiful.
I had a really disappointing chocolate chip cookie baked by a coworker. It was more chewy then soft and gooey like I prefer. So, of course for research sake I had to have another one. Yea they just aren't good cookies. So, now I'm mentally preparing myself to go home and bake a batch of cookies for myself so I can satisfy my desire for a good chocolate chip cookie. We aren't keeping count of how many I eat in a day are we?
It is really freaking hard to pee in a cup when I can't see anything down there.
I was just saying this to DH! On a similar note, I just went pee, thought I was done, started to wipe and then accidentally peed again- all over my hand.

there is NOTHING more disappointing than a bad choc chip cookie. I'm sorry you had to go through that.
My niece is coming to get her bike out of our shed so I told her to bring me a pack of those Andes chocolate mints.
She just texted saying that she can't but will be over soon. Um nooo, sweetheart, no mints, no bike.

Absolutely! At my last appointment, I ended up with more pee in the toilet and on my hand than I did in the cup. So frustrating!
Yes! A couple weeks ago DD went to my appointment with me. She kept asking very loudly what I was doing, so I was explaining that I had to pee in the cup. Then I got some on my hand and she was yelling, "Did you get pee on your hand?!??? Why did you pee on your hand?!" And then she was like, "Can I see your pee?!" I'm positive the entire doctor's office could hear her and I could not get her to be quiet!

Along these lines...is it hard for anyone else to wipe after using the bathroom or just me? It's like a circus to figure out how to get clean with my belly sticking halfway through my thighs. I've lost all flexibility.

DD announced to everyone we passed in Target that mommy went big girl potty and is getting a chocolate egg when we get home. To be clear...at the time...this just meant pee.
Been married since 2009. Unicornuate Uterus (yes I menstruate glitter) Several MCs DD born 2013 (our miracle "you can't have babies" baby!)
I'm really hoping these toots pass before my appointment today. I really don't want to be the patient that crop-dusts their OB the entire cervical check.
Today is exactly one month from my due date!! Looking at April's group, it is about 50-50 give or take newborn baby questions versus pregnancy questions. I know our board is about to do the same thing and I just know I'm going to over here all "when's it my turn!?" Haha!!

@clbness this is my biggest fear!!! And it seemed like every time I had checks with my last pregnancy I was gassy! Luckily I never let one go. Lol
The fear is real! I feel like I always have to during a pap, then I tense up and the doc tells me to relax. I just want to say, "are you SUUURE you want me to relax?!" Good job to you for keeping it in...it gives me hope!

Wiping ... Esp #2 has become the most awkward and uncomfortable task . Since I am in the bathroom most my life now .

Mine too! Pretty sure I'll be going into June...
I have the opposite problem, my due date is May 7th and I have 2 days left to go into May but I have a feeling I won't make it. Maybe I'm just too anxious.

I guess my kids didn't cry enough?? Lol. That is pretty interesting though.
Everyday my biggest complaint is that I have absolutely no energy and could seriously nap for at least 5 hours after just waking up, eat, then go back down for a nap. I haven't been able to keep up with my normal SAHM duties. But today I totally went thru all the baby's clothes up until 18 mos. I already have everything between 2-3 years organized. DS1 and DS2 are in 4-5t right now and then I have a couple of boxes of 6-8 organized. I feel accomplished! While I'm washing everything up to 6 months, I'm finally putting together my hospital bag. Yay for energy! I hope it continues.
I'm curious to see if anyone has a nominee for most dramatic thread on our BMB? My last BMB had so many that stand out in my mind but I can't think of anything truly over the top from this time around. Just for laughs.
It's 'Bring Your Kids to Work' day today at work. I really don't see anything getting done with all the distraction. However, I did get a donut out of it so that's a plus?
I didn't know this, but my OB brought it up today at my appointment because people asked her if she was going to bring her school-aged kids...."and this, honey, is how Mom does a gbs swab..."
We both kinda shook our heads at the inappropriateness of going to OBGYN appts with your mom...
Well, my kids came with me...but they are 2yr olds, and I couldn't really leave them at home.

I'm too lazy to even try to find them, and it blossomed into a few threads anyway, but the "thread police" drama was pretty epic.
Pittsburgh ladies (and possibly other cities too) If there's anyone else out there who goes through baby socks like kleenex, Old Navy has a bunch of 3-packs on sale in store for 47 cents/pack. I swear I didn't buy them all.
Thanks friend!

I wanted to do a Bumpie awards, where we would all vote for this kinda stuff, but thought better of it. But 2 of my top contenders for the Bumpie Best Thread Award was the chick that asked if she could still get Botox ("I got bangs"), and this "Ramzi Me" thread. The Thread Police and the 3 threads created that day on the same topic was #epic.

Yep. It's pretty much an impossible task. Today it was made even more impossible because my toddler kept trying to climb in my lap. I seriously considered just giving up on a thorough wipe and showering instead.

All of those seems so long ago! We've been pretty light on the drama, but those were the good ol' days

Don't worry...I'm due in 3 days but basically I'm going to stay in false labor until probably at least October so you'll deliver before me :P

I'm a little jealous of all you ladies that are approaching the end because 1) you get to meet your babies soon! and 2) you're sooo close to being done being pregnant! I know LO isn't ready for the world yet and she can stay in until she is...but I am SO ready to be done being pregnant.

It looks neat based on the website.
@Charla1224 Now all I want are chocolate chip cookies, warm from the oven, with cold milk. I can practically taste them. Dammit!
