I am super excited yet my head is spinning at the same time! I met with a new RE in the office today and he is much more aggressive than anyone I have seen yet. We are totally changing the course of treatment and will most likely result in converting this cycle to IVF!
The previous plan was IUI with 75iu follistim and 75iu menopur. The nurses always go low on dosage for me because I am borderline PCOS and tend to start each cycle with 7-10 follicles on each side.
The new and very aggressive plan is to increase follistim to 275iu and leave the menopur at 75iu. They have also prescribed metformin just in case it is PCOS and prednisone, intralipids and neupogen for autoimmune issues and increased the synthroid for my thyroid. Plus, he wants me to start the ketogenic diet right away. If this results in more than 3 follicles, we will convert the cycle to IVF.
Wow! I am overwhelmed! Today is CD5 for me and it's the first day that I have actually been excited to get the ball rolling again. I was beginning to lose hope.
I am so sorry for the BFNs this cycle and the cancelled IUIs. FX that we have some successful cycles coming up soon!
Though I've had IUI's before - they were unmedicated. So I'm new to this whole Clomid thing. I'm only on 50mg but am known to be sensitive to medicine. I just threw up my entire lunch on day 1. Is that normal? I had no warning.
I read can cause nausea but not mid bite jump up and run to the bathroom! Ugh.

@tbyars07 - I am new to Clomid too... I'm on day 4, and this is my first cycle taking it. It's given me heartburn and made my stomach a little upset, but not THAT nauseous. I would call your RE and let him/her know... it could be nothing, but it might be an allergy or a symptom of something else so better to be safe than sorry!
@rnthatruns0923 and @laur2444 They gave me a shot of pregnyl. I never did get a straight answer about the purpose, but from what I inferred, it helps with hormone levels for implantation.
My line was darker and more defined this morning. I am really hoping this is it!!
On CD4 and went in to see RE for next steps. I'm either moving to IVF or lap surgery to check for Endo. So confused on what to do next. Just stressed about all of it. I wish there was a way to know if you have endo without during lap.
Dropped off my BCP prescription, which is new for me and seems more depressing.

I am really close with my mom, and she was actually on vacation and about to board a cruise when I got the results from the beta. She cried on the phone with me.... she wanted a positive too and wanted to be here for me. So I have had a hard time with that too. But I already started this cycles shots. Which I am very weepy from lol If this cycle does not work then we are onto IVF.

Hi everyone! I had IUI#6 on Wednesday and in the 2ww too. Wishing everyone the best of luck during this stressful time.
I know some ladies have been commenting on how many IUI to do before IVF. I'm 29, and my doctor requested I try 3 more IUI/Clomid cycles after the 5th failed, which definitely isn't what I wanted to hear at the time but I do trust and like my RE. He requested this because of my age and normal tests results so please take that into consideration. He really doesn't seem keen on IVF in my specific case after the "3 failed IUI". I know some ladies may think it's a waste of time and money, but somehow my insurance is picking up the ultrasounds so I'm paying out of pocket for the IUI itself which is $350, the ovidrel which is $140, and the clomid which is $20. When you add the $40 U/S copay it's about $550. So when I really did the math and multiplied this by 8 cycles it's about $4,400 which is about half of an IVF cycle, but a single IVF cycle is irrelevant for me because my husband and I both agreed that if go the IVF route, we will do a money back guarantee program which will run 17k plus. Once again, I understand not all ladies can qualify for a money back guarantee, and I understand we all have different ages and issues. So at the end of the day it depends on your personal circumstances.
I know my doctor said that by the start of IUI #8, we will have a game plan if it fails. He said he's going to sit with me and discuss the next two options. IUI with injections and IVF. Pros/Cons and Risks.
The ladies with PCOS, please don't think it's hopeless for you because you have PCOS. I have 3 friends with PCOS who got pregnant long before me. One naturally with both her kids, 1 after her first iui with injectables (after over 5 years of trying and age 34), and the other after a 3rd IUI with clomid. I'm here with "unexplained" and "normal tests" and on a 6th iui! So please don't let the diagnosis of PCOS make you worry too much!!

Sorry for all the Bfns and waiting to hear some good news from you all. I had another blood test today and waiting for results now. Hoping the ectopic is done at this point and I can move on. I did start bleeding so I'm thinking that's a good sign.
@Drove2u fx for you I hope you get the go ahead!!! I'm 12 days post trigger today still holding strong haven't tested yet! I like feeling hopeful for as long as possible. All I know is I am sooooo bloated this time. I also keep having really distinct dreams. Nothing about babies, but I've been waking up remembering all these weird details, which I usually never do. @greengypsy how are you doing? Have you tested yet?
well i think AF is on her way ( I've been having cramps for the past few days & spotting a little more since last night. i dont want to test bec it could still be too early (11dpiui) & i dont want to waste the only test i have. plus i dont want to see a BFN AGAIN. fx for everyone still in it this cycle & for those moving on.

I went back to my RE today to monitor my lining. It's up to an 8, so no estrace needed! Thank God! When I had to take it on my Clomid round, it made me an emotional mess. I triggered about an hour ago, so I'm expecting to O tonight or tomorrow. I'm holding out hope that the one I have is the best quality one I've had so far, and I'll have seen my baby from the earliest point possible (just when he/she was in a follicle).

I'm trying not to test early! I'm 13dpiui and due for my blood test on Monday. I picked up a preggers test today but think I should wait so I'm not disappointed. My fingers are crossed for everyone waiting
Had my first IUI yesterday with three follicles. Trying hard not to get my hopes up too much. The good news is that my husband's vasectomy worked! One month post-op, his count was 10 million (50% motility) and yesterday (two months post-op) it was 39 million with 60% motility. So we are adding some BD-ing just in case. Because of his vasectomy, insurance won't cover infertility treatments unless we pay for 6 IUI's (to prove female infertility). We are really hoping one of them works. For now, I wait. Crossing fingers for everyone.
To my cyclemates: @greengypsy- my fx for you!! @laur2444- when you planning on testing? Or are you scheduled for a beta?
My beta is scheduled for Monday. Gonna hold out and not POAS- don't wanna see/hear BFN more than once. Just found out that I have to work from home Monday- dunno if that's good or bad. Prob the latter bc I won't be as distracted. Thinking about telling the nurse to leave the results on my vm and then listen to it when my husband gets home. I don't wanna hear bad, or good, news without him right there. Anyone else ever done that? It's def gonna be hard not listening to the voicemail...
@kimmie0812- didn't realize you're a cyclemate too! It's easier said than done to hold out, I just tell myself that it's not 100% accurate as beta, so why convince yourself you are or aren't pregnant if it's not possibly true?! Plus I already paid for the beta- so I figure financially makes sense to hold onto pregnanct test until next month, when my husband and I are taking off from IUI/monitoring.
@RMM1204 my RE doesn't want me to poas until 18 days post trigger, then go in for beta if need be. That would bring me to next Wednesday....I think I am going to check Sunday if no AF yet though. Each cycle I have already gottenAF by that point, so we will see.....how are you feeling?
@laur2444 - 18 days seems like a long time to wait, so I don't blame you for not. Keep us posted! This is my first monitored cycle so I dunno what to expect in terms of timing. According to FF and on the basis of last month, I should get my period by Monday if I'm not KU. Dunno about you, but I'm just ready to move on- pregnant or not!
Hi Ladies, sorry to bud in so late in the convo but my cycle had taken forever to start. I've been pretty quiet on here since August but all of my test look good so far and starting my first medicated iui cycle with an RE. Had CD3 b/w done today and am starting Clomid tonight and will not have any b/w or u/s until close to expected trigger date 10/26. Is this usually how its done?

Welcome back @vnegron87, congrats on your start! I just had my 2nd iui and with both I was on clomid this time 3-7 I had an ultrasound cd10 with both. I know every one is different.
@vnegron87 This month is the first that I have taken Clomid CD 4-8 and I don't go in for an ultrasound until CD 14. Like @Krista537 said, everybody is different. Good luck this month!

Just took a HPT 14 days past trigger.....BFN. I am devastated. Had such a good feeling this round. Trying to hold out hope until AF comes, but I am a wreck.
Sorry @laur2444! It's not over until AF comes. So let's still hope!!! AF is due for me today. Nothing yet but last cycle I started spotting midday. I'm gonna pray every time time I go to the bathroom today that there's nothing to see! I'm also getting over a cold and today my stomach is botherng me (could be nerves, idk)- not fun! I just need to get through the next 24 hours and get the results of the beta :-/
Thank you girls. It just hurts so bad you start to believe maybe it worked and then yet again nothing. Don't know what the heck I'm doing wrong it makes you feel like garbage. It's so tiring. My husband and I talked and I think we will try 1 more IUI (our 4th) and in the meantime are going to make an appt at another RE closer to us that we've heard great things about....would want to do IVF come January.

AF is due for me today. Nothing yet but last cycle I started spotting midday. I'm gonna pray every time time I go to the bathroom today that there's nothing to see! I'm also getting over a cold and today my stomach is botherng me (could be nerves, idk)- not fun!
I just need to get through the next 24 hours and get the results of the beta :-/

I had my cd 2 scan on Friday and started Clomid last night. Here's hoping to no side effects!
