But I couldn’t take the picture because I OF COURSE forgot my phone at my desk when I dropped off my coat and hat/scarf so I had to wrap the test back in a plastic bag and dumped and closed the pee cup and took it all back to my desk where I literally crawled under my desk, unwrapped the test and took a picture from down there so my coworker couldn’t see. His desk is basically attached to mine and our cubicle walls are only 12 inches high. He must have been like, what is she doing? I pretended I was trying to plug something in. Anyway doctor responded back within minutes bring like, you are good!  Fire drill over.   And then I forgot about the pee cup and walked around with it in my backpack until today!!!!!! Yuck! Hahaha:)

The things we go through!  I can’t wait till we can truly laugh at all these stories when we finally have our babes in our arms.

@hopefuljj ohhhhh I sooooo needed to hear that story! That is awesome! And if your co-worker didn’t think you were mad before he sure does now! 

As a side note, the only times I’ve seen a positive HPT are the squinters after trigger too. I’ve even kept those ones to compare against the ones I take eg now so if I am in any doubt if I see a line then I have a reference. Sadly the reference wasn’t needed so far.

@emmasemm I'm so sorry you're still getting stark white tests Hopefully it's just early! I do definitely understand wanting to do the research already, though. And yes, my appointment is tomorrow. I'll update after with all of the results.

At the whole active and lurker gang - has anyone had inconsistent AMH results?
My level was 0.65 in July when we first went to the RE.
My PCP ran it in January whilst I was stimming (which should have no effect) and it was 0.52 (so down a bit in six months, but kind of within different lab tolerance limits I guess).
But then yesterday when I got a copy (finally) of my BW from October with my RE (immediately following my first failed IVF cycle) it was 0.91!

Has anyone heard that AMH can fluctuate and particularly that it might be higher in the cycle following stim cycle? I thought it was supposed to be stable or reducing.
Is that the reason why there is speculation that you’re more fertile in the natural cycle immediately following a stim cycle? Or why back to back cycles might help us low AMHers? 
(In the same BW my FSH day 3 was only 8.7 compared to around 14-16 from April to July)

@emmasemm I'm actually east coast! I had just fallen asleep around 3:30pm and woke up around 10:30pm. I was up for a couple of hours and then fell back asleep Also, not a single clue about the inconsistent AMH results.

@hopefuljj- omg your story is so funny! Our lives are seriously like a sitcom (or drama somedays I guess)! I am so glad you got it taken care of it, but I can only imagine taking a picture under my desk! I work in corporate open concept too. I am always taking doctor calls in the hallways and stair wells. Can't wait to hear your update  tomorrow!!

@emmasemm- stark white is the WORST. I have never tested after trigger, so I have never seen two lines at all. I seriously have a breakdown when I POAS before beta. i don't want to do it, but I also can't take a day off work and wait for the REs call. Its just the most horrible thing... putting so much time and energy and money into this to be so devastated over and over. If I know you, you are already on top of figuring out your next clinic. Any forerunners? As far as AMH results, mine has stayed consistent over the two times I had it tested. I have heard that vitamin D levels can effect it. I don't think swings, up or down, are very meaningful, unless you have a correlated change in AFC. I think AFC is way more important than AMH. Even more important than AFC is quality, in my opinion. I had decent AMH (1.5 at 28/29), AFC of 9-14, and still I am on DE since I just can't get my embryos to blast or the few that make it there haven't stuck. So I am a firm believer in quality over quantity and while you only get a couple of eggs each time, I believe if you keep at it, you can find the golden egg!

@emmasemm I actually have not had my AMH checked since Oct 2016.  I just figured if I'm not responding well to the IVF meds, then it doesn't really make much of a difference as to what my AMH is.  I too have heard that Vit D can increase your AMH.
AFM, I finished my mock estrogen and now waiting for AF.  I hope I can enter the next IVF cycle...lets see what destiny has in store for me.

@hopefuljj dear lord!! Glad you made it to the bathroom in time...my bladder is just not strong enough to drink at home before going anywhere my hat off to you!!  And I felt your pain with this dang app from the phone!  I will say when I write something lengthy I try to remember to copy all before posting as I have lost so much and its the most frustrating!!!  But thanks for taking the time to share!  This is probably why my clinic just makes you come in for blood work to make sure the trigger was done correctly....which I say is great now BUT I know when it was time I just rather take the test...no pleasing me 

@emmasemm ugh wish that squinter would just show up already!  I love that DH is staying positive I get the disappointment BUT why not try and be a lil happpy the few days a month you can get during this process.  In answer to your AMH question I"m not sure about the stemming and all that and what it can do etc.  I've done back to back cycles and not sure the previous stemming has helped or not.  I will say I do believe that the supplements that we're taking are suppose to help and i think if your AMH does go up it could be from that.  I do think .9 is a great jump and so close to normal soooo that should make you happy.  Mine started out as .30 and after a year i would say it was .40 and I was quite happy with my lil point higher   Once your pregnant you stop taking the supplements and then the AMH has gone down for some....so to me that made it clear that the supplements do help...hope that help shed some light

So my test results. 

- My AMH has doubled, but is still low at 0.67. The cyst is gone, so we think that may be a factor. 
- DH’s SA was okay. His volume and motility are good, while his morphology and concentration are slightly low. 
- My estrogen is slightly low, and my FSH was good. 
- He said with these results, our options if we continue to have trouble are IVF or a medicated IUI. HOWEVER. 
- His office will not perform any further procedures on me until I get my BMI below 43. It is currently 50. They want me to drop a minimum of 75 pounds in order to work with them. Why they didn’t tell us this at the initial appointment, we do not know. 
- Given my back, hip, and foot issues, it’s incredibly difficult for me to work out and lose weight. I’ve been trying to lose weight for 25 years and have tried everything under the sun except for bariatric surgery. It’s next to impossible for me to do so. 

We don’t know what we’re going to do at this point beyond continue trying.

@dreamscapes_ good news on the AMH! But that’s really crappy that they never mentioned BMI limits for treatment to you earlier!!! Do you have other clinics close to you to try for a second opinion?
I’m so sorry they did this to you. 

If you’re looking for alternatives which allow you some intervention maybe to see if it helps with getting the sperm close to the right place at the right time, have you looked into something like Mosey Baby?

@dreamscapes_ - That is soo frustrating they didn't mention the BMI at the first appointment. Are there other REs in the area you can try? I know both of the clinics I have done IVF at have a BMI requirement too. However, my first RE who was a small 1 RE clinic was not as strict on a lot of things, so maybe try to find a boutique like clinic? The rest of the numbers don't sound too bad, so as long as you are ovulating monthly, I think there is a chance it could just happen naturally, especially since you are younger. There is also research that losing even 10% of your body weight can improve fertility, so perhaps that could help you naturally as you work toward the lower BMI goal for treatment.

@emmasemm Yeah, DH and I are not at all happy that they didn't bother telling us that until we went through all of the initial testing. We have another clinic that takes our insurance, but we'd have to get another referral and then probably go through all the testing all over again. So... We'll see what happens. I'll have to look into that Mosey Baby thing. Right now, we're just kind of putting all of this out of our heads.

@JamieH2000 We're gonna talk about the possibility of a second opinion, but not tonight. As far as the weight loss thing, it's been a lifelong thing. I'm actually quite comfortable with my body and everything, but some doctors point toward my weight as causing everything.

@dreamscapes_ good news on ur numbers thats promising!!  I echo the others thoughts annoying about the BMI for sure!!!  Of course it shouldve been mentioned BUT how many people that are obese still have kids naturally!  Yes it could help but that can't be the only reason as to why you can't get pregnant.  You should know I asked my RE at our first meeting together about weight and she didn't think that was my issue...granted I think my BMI at the time was under 30 but still overweight nonetheless. Now lets fast forward through all my medicated iuis and IVF cycles i was probably 25lbs heavier at the time of transfer with this lil babe of mine so I wouldn't count u out just yet   Find another Dr and even ask that question prior to meeting with them.  A new clinic will want to run tests however since you did just have them done i'm sure if you get a copy over to them that might be good enough.  This is just one of the many bumps in the road of Infertility - hang in there!

@Hopeful_mom Yeah, we are not at all happy about that. Fat women get pregnant all the time ("fat" for me isn't a four letter word). We're going to talk about the possibility of a second opinion and everything, but I don't know when. It's just frustrating. We're still going to try on our own (annoyingly, AF is about to show her face >.<), and I need to get another pack of ovulation tests. But yeah, my ovaries are stupid.

 AFM 1 made it to blast and was biopsied and frozen. So over the course of 9 months and many cycles I ended up with 7 embryos to biopsy. I had one more slot in my DOR package which expires in 2 weeks but it would cost almost $1000 to thaw and re-biopsy one of my abnormal embryos from cycle 1 so I don’t think it’s worth it. So this is it. Now I wait for PGS results for the 4 embryos (3 from cycle 2 and 1 from this cycle). If nothing is normal like when I sent in the first 3 then maybe I’ll try a fresh transfer before moving on to adoption. Don’t know just yet:). Has anyone watched the one more shot documentary on Netflix? I’m thinking of watching it....my sister screened it for me and said she thinks I should.

Quick update...DH was out after work today so When I got home I just cried my way through the documentary.  Touches on all the ways to complete your family.  Beautiful. But also like really hard to watch without sobbing.  The main character has DOR.

@emmasemm my amh went up about a month after my second ivf cycle, which was cancelled due to the embryos arresting.   A few months later it went down some.  I don’t know if it went up due to the supplements I started after the failed cycle or something else.  I’m not entirely convinced that amh levels tell us much.  It can be artificially suppressed if your vitamin d level is low.  That is an interesting idea, though.  I agree with @JamieH2000 , quality is really the important factor.  I don’t know if dhea, acupuncture, the vitamin d, or the epp made fourth cycle successful, but if I were to do ivf again, I’d do all of those things.

@hopefuljj yay for having another blast! Fx for your testing now!
Also with your “abnormalste” did they say what the abnormalities were? Because some abnormalities can be less serious. And some would normally mean the embie won’t make it to blast or won’t implant - so as they have made it blast, if you put them back you’d “only” risk a BFN (or CP) but nothing else. And if they do go on they’re likely to have been mosaics and turn out ok.
It also seems to very much depend which PGS testing technique they’ve used as some are really much more accurate than others.
Just something to discuss with your clinic... 

@kp214 yeah it’s also made me wonder more about the AMH thing, which of course is billed as much better than just using FSH. But the other thing is that my PCP this week at my new patient health check found my VitD levels are basically undetectable. She says even ladies in their 20s don’t get KU with those levels, so I have an appointment next week to go through those and some other crazy levels with her and try to decide what we do to at least have my body functioning normally in general. I do live in Northern Europe and we don’t see much sun in the winter, but undetectable... 
My AFC has never been super high, but has varied from 2 to 5. And if I could guarantee 5 each time by having vitamin levels right then I would take that no question! 
I’m doing acupuncture since September so that could also be a part... but didn’t do any before the last BW as it was Xmas holidays for 3 weeks which corresponds with worse numbers again...
I just took Estrogen during my TWW after the last transfer, so very interested to see how this cycle plays out naturally after that. DH is ready to do his part every day during FW!

@hopefuljj- Yay on another blast!! SO many prayers that there are some normals in your 4! You deserve this so much and I am rooting for you! Any idea when you will have results? I think you should start prepping for an FET assuming you will have at least one to transfer! I think I am going to watch the One More Shot movie tonight. I am glad the stories are out there, but sometimes they are hard to watch since we are living it. I do like to send them to my mom and MIL and select others to help them understand how hard this journey is.

@emmasemm- when is your beta? I know you are already moving on to next steps, but still thinking of you on beta day since its never easy...

AFM- lining only grew from 8.8 to 9.3 with 8 more days of estrogen, but its plenty thick for an ERA I believe. Thought it would have grown a little more since i got to 10.6mm last cycle, but i will definitely take it!! Still waiting on the official call, but I am assuming I will get the greenlight to start PIO at 7pm tonight. Then ERA would be on Wednesday.

@jamieh2000 that’s definitely thick enough! Fx they say you can kick off the progesterone tonight. Did they always have you start it in the evening? They make me take my first dose *exactly* 24 hours after my ER time. Which is exactly 34 hours after my trigger.

And beta is Monday. Which will be CD5. And I’ll probably be down to only spotting. Which is like the biggest joke ever. Beta immediately after AF has stopped... got to be a new way to do it!

But I’m all ready for the clinic review with DH tomorrow. I had one great call last night and two today - one clinic even put me through to their head embryologist who I talked to for 45 minutes!  He said if I choose their clinic I am welcome to go meet him and have a tour of we lab. And I literally grilled him so many things and at the end he even joked that with what I know he’d be happy to offer me a job hehehehe. After a crappy week I’m chalking that up as a big win!

@emmasemm- Yes, they always do the evening I believe. I think its different for FETs than fresh maybe. With a fresh, the left over follicles give off progesterone right after ER. If my ERA said I need 12 more hours of progesterone, then they will know I should start at 7am 5 days before instead of 7pm 5 days before. So they just want to make sure they know exactly what I start. I don't understand why they have your beta so late! Especially if you are spotting, they should let you come in. But I also feel like the supplemental progesterone should have been enough to keep your period away? Sounds like you are finding some great clinics! Are they all in EU? Once you pick one, I can't wait to hear about it. Will you still have a follow up with your current RE?

@emmasemm I’m so happy to hear you are having some great calls:)    I did get the abnormalities for those embryos.

I had two D5 embryos with perfect grades (AA) and the 3rd was a D6 embryo (BB).
The BB was missing a copy of chromosome 6.
And one AA had a duplication of chromosome 11 and the other Loss of chromosome 21


@JamieH2000  did you watch it?? I kinda want to make DH watch it too... but then I would have to watch it again.

@jamieh2000 I don’t understand why my beta is so late either. Except I am wondering if they try to avoid giving hope with the very low beta numbers, which would mostly be below the threshold for positive if you leave it longer... and that’s some ladies maybe don’t go for betas if they have AF already...

I had asked my RE about how could I get AF whilst still on progesterone back after the September failure. He said it didn’t work like that. We had an “animated discussion” about it (in German). His opinion was that there is more than the progesterone level alone which stops AF from starting (ie the lining to start to break down). Which I guess is true, that it’s not progesterone alone - but my argument to him was that it was one of the dominating driving factors.
But this time I was on Estrogen as well after ET. So I was really surprised AF came whilst I was still on the meds.
Also as provera which is used to make AF come in people who have had an an-O cycle or where they had no AF for a long time supposedly works by giving you a really high boost in progesterone level for a few days, which when it drops suddenly triggers your lining to break down and AF to start, then I don’t understand how that could work if my RE is right... 
Some days I am really really thinking about going back and studying endocrinology at university as there is just so much mis-information out there it’s like wading through treacle.

@hopefuljj sorry they have those issues. FX for the ones you’ve just sent for testing!
But on the other hand the deletions are really interesting to me. Did they confirm they were complete or partial deletions? Did they have you go through them with a genetic counselor? An extra part of 11 and deletions on 21 seem to be not life compatible, so if they’re not sure if all cells are affected or not they might agree to you transferring them (if you wanted) as if they’re not ok they will just not develop further. But partial deletions on 6 has a very wide spectrum of possibilities depending on where the exact deletions are. Seems some people don’t know they have partial deletions on 6 until they have a child with more complex deletions... and also quite a difference between deletions on the p or q copy. So if it’s only a partial deletion you might want to know more about which parts before deciding (if you come to that point, which hopefully you won’t).
I actual did a first year of genetics back 20 years ago (so what I learnt is very very out of date) - so if I don’t take endocrinology as a second career, maybe I could go back to genetics!

Oh and I watched the movie too. I thought it was very well done. I’ve suggested to DH he watch it, but I think he would need to watch it on his own, in his own time.

Thanks for the info @emmasemm!! I tried to set up a consult with a geneticist at the lab who did the testing and ended up not being able to work out a time that worked due to a crazy work schedule and just dropped it.  I was originally freaking out that my clinic won’t transfer them but paid to keep them on ice where they still remain because they were ok to not discard them even though that’s what you agree to before you begin:-/ it took me maaaaany months to even get anything else on ice so the cost seemed a little crazy but I couldn’t let them discard.  Depending on what happens this time I’ll decide how to proceed.  
You would make an amazing endocrinologist or geneticist:).   And I agree, the movie was SO well done.  Really beautiful.  Very hard to watch and to not think about now that it’s over but great.  DH doesn’t want to watch it unless I watch it with him.  I knew I would not be able to watch it with him the first time which is why I watched/sobbed in private.  I’m a bit of an odd ball with showing my vulnerabilities even to DH:-/ but I think I could watch it again now that I know the outcome.

@emmasemm- If you were on both estrogen and progesterone after your transfer, I am struggling to understand how AF came. What type of progesterone are you on? Maybe you aren't absorbing it somehow? For your next trasnfer, I would maybe request your levels checked during the tww? I also think you could be an RE! I do think it would be a very rewarding career!

@hopefuljj- me and DH did watch the movie and it was very well done. It does really hit close to home for anyone with DOR and/or pursuing donor options. I recommended it to my mom. I wish I could share it on facebook and be like THIS is what we are going through. We have been videoing our journey too, and plan to make a shorter annoucement video if that day comes.

@jamieh2000 I know right??? I was on crinone and estrafim tablets. And the dosages I’m on are the standard on all their printed fresh transfer info sheets, and he confirmed last time I asked about the dosages and that they don’t do PIO. I guess it could be that I wasn’t absorbing the crinone. But as crinone is not getting to my endometrium via the blood, blood tests to check progesterone levels would have been pretty useless. And I definitely had all the progesterone side effects!!!
We decided today if they call us in for a WTF appointment then I will go on my own (as DH is on a different insurance he has to self pay for the consultation if he attends, and since we won’t use them again we said no point coming this time). First I will do the “most pointless beta in the world ever” Monday morning, wait for them to call with the result in the afternoon and see if they say we have to go to the WTF appointment. If not I need them to send me the records from this cycle.
As this morning we picked our next steps - and for that I need all my latest records!
I do have to say DH is really my rock through all of this. When we got married a year ago we definitely didn’t bargain on going overseas for medical treatment...

So, I went in for my baseline today.  Had a great AFC of 4, nice FSH but estrogen is high at 150.  They can’t go on with this cycle.  Ughh so frustrated, sad and broken.  It’s always something or the other

adc0417  ugh so sorry this process is so frustrating!  Can they just wait for your estrogen to go down and then start?  Do they see a left over follicle thats making the estrogen?

@emmasemm I thought I missed a post that said AF showed...and i'm so confused how.  Usually crinone absorbs well into the body..I'd like to have thought it was implantation spotting.  I can't believe you're charged twice for who attends a dr appt.  Thats a new one for me!  I'm glad you're ready for next steps and hope someone new will bring better results for you.  I'm glad your DH is so supportive its important!!
I love how knowledgeable you are!  You make me want to go and see what my abnormal embabies came back with.  All of them were missing a gene or had an extra of one none said mosaic.  And I thought they use the term mosiac for results that aren't necessarily accurately. 

@hopefuljj I kept checking in for your update and then missed it... yay for another embaby!!  I'm excited and a basket case all at the same time for you!  I really would love for you to have done a fresh transfer too!  With all the different testing its hard to have faith in the process!  Praying you get normies back and we can move on to an FET!!!

@jamieh2000 good luck with the ERA lining sounds good!  Mine didn't grow that much after over a week of meds so try not to stress.  PLease make sure they numb you correctly for the procedure.  I hear some horrow stories that they dont use much meds so just make sure they do!!

@hopeful_mom- Unfortunately there is no numbing for ERAs at my place. My RE said its not too bad, we will see. I just remind myself the phsycial pain is very temporary and its nothing compared to a BFN.

@adc0417- I'm so sorry girl. Did they find a cyst that is producing estrogen? I have one for 2 cycles and it was the most frustrating thing. FX it resolves itself soon!

@JamieH2000 @Hopeful_mom No they can’t find a reason why my estrogen is high.  There are no cysts and no left over follicles.  They’re just calling it a dysfunctional cycle.  I even questioned the doc if there was a possibility of the mock estrogen cycle causing this lingering estrogen in my system and he doesn’t think so.  
DH and I watched “One More Shot” last night and just broke down crying after.  It’s truly a painful journey of DOR/infertility.  I could relate to all emotions including the obsessiveness.

@adc0417 ugh so frustrating to not have answers...hoping this is just a fluke.  My first IUI way back when I had to delay due to the same thing and because I was so distraught they kept checking my levels and then let me continue on once it resolved...I can tell you that it wasn't a successful cycle and I should've just waited for the next cycle.

I just watched the documentary "One More Shot" that you've all been speaking of. Wow. It brought back a ton of (relatable) raw emotions. I love the message it relayed about how you can achieve a family, someway, somehow, it just depends on how you choose to look at it and don't let it define you. Sending you all big hugs tonight.

Thanks Ladies! It wasn't quite as bad as I expected.. hurt bad for 10 seconds.. but then she had to do it twice since the first sample was borderline on size. I am not sure she got much more the second time, but it BETTER be enough for the testing! Since I am doing a medicated FET, they can control the timing, so my RE likes to do them herself. However the first day she could do it is 3/19 I was hoping for around 3/5, based on what I get back from my trip next week, so its only two more weeks, but feels sooo far away! Just praying my ERA comes back good and I don't need to repeat it!

@emmasemm- How you talked to the other clinics yet?! I can't wait to hear about your plan, since I'm sure its super well thought out and researched!

@JamieH2000 glad your ERA went well and wasn’t too painful.  Praying for great results.  And March will be here before you know it.
AFM, my RE wants me to naturally cycle but will also monitor my blood work every week to keep an eye on it for possible early ovulation.  In parallel to that, we are also planning to reserve a donor thru an agency.  So, let’s see what happens.

@emmasemm Good luck with your second consult tmrw, and so sorry about the legal issue you have on your plate.  Hang in there!

@emmasemm when it rains it pours...I have some stressful things going on myself and I've been complaining about breathing feeling like i'm in my 9th month and I can now realize its all this extra stress that is making it harder to take a deep breathe...so with that being said hoping you're situation will resolve itself quickly!  Its so very hard to have other issues when you need to have a clear head!

@JamieH2000 so glad to see ur update!  Hoping the results are what you want to see!  I know any extra time sux ass!  Just want everything to be perfect for you!

@adc0417 glad your RE will keep watch on you!  Are you able to look at donor and still try a cycle of IVF...or did you decide to just move forward with donor?

@Hopeful_mom No both DE and my IVF cycles will be at different clinics.  I know, I know we are kinda two timing, but just want to efficient and not waste time.  

So, I wanted to ask those who have gone through DE, at what point would I need to be on BCP? Would it be after she has gone thru her screening? How quickly does it move from the time you pick a donor?  Also, can you just freeze those eggs/embryos for later?  Pls advice...
