I also read the stats about 30% of blasts being abnormal for the under 35 age group. That did worry me as well. I just keeping trying to focus on the other 70% as well. It's just so hard to think that our "perfect" looking little blast could still have something wrong with it. It was so far a head of the others, I just hope that is a good sign and that he/she is meant to be. I still don't have any symptoms besides for some mild bloating at 6dp5dt. I'm not sure if that's good or bad...
Yes. It absolutely sucks that they can look perfect but 30% are likely to have chromosomal abnormalities. I read though that some of these will be among those that do not fertilize or arrest so those that do make it to blast may have a higher %.

@LCK0830 didn't mean to freak you out, sorry- blasts have a high chance of being normal since they progressed so far, but still up to 30% of blasts can still have chromosomal abnormalities... It's just a bit of a gamble no matter what, I guess....

@Cristiniv Transfer was 9/29, felt just a little bloated with minor cramps/tugs through 9/31. Lots of dreams, minor headaches, super sleepy, then 10/7 I was SO sad because I had strong AF symptoms from 1pm-10pm. Since then, nothing until a couple hours ago and I feel AF again.... All could be from the meds or the embryo(s), I guess!

@Cristiniv I've also been very sensitive to smells since ET but I live downtown Chicago and there are always weird smells, so I tried not to over think it. Normal appetite though, but a couple times brief very mild nausea.
@Colleen0516 I transferred two... that number is so frickin' high that it could totally be twins! Regardless, it's high enough that I feel comfortable in a solid strong start!

Today I feel worse than yesterday. Super tired and my legs are ao heavy. I guess my body has been through a lot this week and it is telling me to take a rest this weekend after the ER and ET. Anyone else have experiebced pains in their legs after transfer?
@mclorn congratulations!! I just got the chills. What wonderful news!!!! @LCK0830 We had 6 before PGS testing and 3 were left after being tested. They told me about 50 percent usually are abnormal but I'm 38. That's great news. I'm waiting for my transfer. My bladder is so full!!!!

Congratulations, @mclorn! I am so happy for you. Do you mind restating how many eggs transferred, whether this is your first IVF cycle and if it was fresh or frozen. Oh and your diagnosis. I'm so sorry, I joined the group a little later and missed all this information. I tried looking back but there are so many pages to sort through.
Sure! First IVF retrieved 26 eggs, 20 mature, 19 fertilized using ICSI + AH, 17 made it to day 5 blasts. Froze 16 and transferred 1 fresh cycle BFN, then transferred two for this frozen cycle! Unexplained Infertility.
@Colleen0516 and @riveridgional we were both going to be off work and listening by 3:30, but he is being held until 5:00 so we won't find out until he gets home around 6:00. He said he understands if I listen, but I really just want to be together either way. That said, I'm dying here!!!

@dreambig1021 I hope you get marvelous news soooooooooooon!!! Symptoms.... slight cramping/pulling for 2 days post transfer, then a mild head ache and super tired for a few days, then AF feelings today and on Wednesday. I feel sensitive to smells a bit, too....normal appetite.....

Cool! I go to Dr. Sipe at FCI... you? I know Advanced Fertility is wonderful and I was debating a second opinion there at some point if necessary. Dr. Sipe is awesome - so hilarious. The wait times there can get crazy and miscommunications have stressed me out a bit, too, but I am fortunate that it is just 3 miles away. I started with them back in February.
I see Dr. Tur-Kaspa at the Institute for Human Reproduction in River North. I started seeing him in June. My experience so far has been great although sometimes I feel like just a number. I think that's pretty norm for most clinics in our area tho. I did a lot of research before picking him. I opted not to go to FCI mainly because of negative reviews about Dr. Kaplan. I know a couple people that went to him and found him to be pretty egotistic. Sounds like they have other good providers tho.
Sounds like you are in good hands. For bw and us they really do just crank them out, but my actual consult appointments and procedures have been great. I love Dr. Sipe and his nurse, Antoinette.
My RE called to check on me. She reminded me that with DOR 6 is a really good number and that the average number at retrieval is 8-15 so I really am in good shape. They will call again tomorrow to update me on the condition of the Embries. Goodness...I have to find something to preoccupy my time and mind.
