Just need to vent. This is supposed to be my first month for IUI. I went in for u/s today (CD 15) and my largest follicle is just under 9 mm. Last Monday (CD 11) it was at 9 mm. I usually ovulate around CD 17-18. I was on Clomid CD3-7. I'm really hoping I'm just ovulating later than usually this month. I'm waiting to hear back next steps from the nurse. Really hate this waiting game. This last year and half has been an emotional roller coaster — not sure how I'm going to handle having to go through months of IUI and possibly IVF.
Hope everyone else is having better luck and seeing some nice large follies!
@Rachd110 I'm sorry. You might be just running a little late. I think clomid can cause O to come a little late. That's what I have heard anyway. Fx for you.
@KidShrink I will probably symptom spot like nuts when I have my IUI. Of course I will try not to, but I am probably going to end up driving myself nuts!

I'm on 2piui only 10 more to go! Blood work scheduled for 12dpiui. I could not imagine testing out trigger. My mind would go crazy if I saw a BFP due to only trigger.
I have a ton of wondfo tests that are close to expiration so I am debating on if I want to test out my trigger or not. Just so I can see what a positive actually looks like. But I think it would drive me crazy too, so I am not sure I am going to want to do that.

@AdorkablePixie I completely agree. See a BFP would mess with me to much. Luckily I'm on vacation until the day I am scheduled for blood test. Hopefully it'll go by quickly.
@AdorkablePixie After my first HCG shot, my husband and I both mentioned wanting to see what one looked like, so I did. I immediately yelled out to my husband, "THEY DO EXIST!!!" And, I actually kept in on the bathroom counter as a positive motivator that month that I would see a real one. Of course, when I got my BFN I chucked that fake BFP so hard into the trashcan and broke down. But, hey, at least now I know exactly where to imagine that second line coming in!
Edited to say: I do think testing out the trigger would drive me crazy cause at some point I would start wondering if it was a real BFP or not. Taking it when I knew it couldn't yet be a real BFP prevented the crazy train from rolling.

@KidShrink same places as you! One in my head, one in both ears, a lot on my belly (all over), mid calf, and ankles and feet. I'm going 1 time a week after IUI too.
@AdorkablePixie not naked, i unbutton my pants and roll them down, and lull my shirt up to expose my stomache. If wearing a dress, I use a towel to cover a little or bring shorts. I was nervous when I started, but it's essentially painless, and has helped! If I feel pain, I tell him and he readjusts the needle.

@Colleen0516 yeah that about sums it up. In part I'm like fine, lets do something that actually has a shot of working, but I'm also terrified of the time and medical commitment. FX we get lucky before we head that way!
Hi Everyone, I just did my first IUI on August 4th. I go for my Beta test this Tuesday. The last two days I have had really bad cramping and a little spotting?? Is this normal? My husband and I have been trying for about 2 years now...
I tested out my trigger, and I kind of wish I hadn't. Because I saw the faint line a couple times and now... nothing but white. But I'm testing stupid early and obsessively (9dpo today), and I expect I'll ruin my weekend doing that.
If I hadn't tested out the trigger, I'd have a better chance to make myself wait until 14dpo (or at least 12 or 13). It's not good for me, emotionally, to be doing this.
@mykauker, I'm afraid there's no way for us to know if you're having cramping and spotting leading up to AF, or if it's something else. Same symptoms for both, I'm afraid. I wish you well in putting this out of your mind (or at least not obsessing), and that you have a nice weekend. FX for next week!

@mykauker I had a lot of cramping after my IUI. I never had any spotting, but my RE said it wasn't anything to be worried about if I did experience spotting. I would say both symptoms are normal and not to worry.

@mykrauker so you had IUI on August 4 (which is usually day of ovulation bc they triggered you) it's August 15, that makes you about 11dpiui... You were cramping and spotting past 2 days (day 9&10piui) That could be signs of implantation!! light spotting? (not a heavy consistent flow?)
Hoping that it is, and that you get your BFP soon!!

@Drove2u sorry to hear about your beta. But at least AF came pretty quick! AF finally showed up for me today so we will be on the same schedule this month with our IUIs My first IUI was supposed to be last month but I did not respond to clomid at all. Switching to Femara this cycle. FX for you this time around!!!

this will be IUI number 3 for us. We did one natural cycle and one medicated cycle (just clomid). This month we are doing medicated (clomid and ovidrel). His urologist suggested banking and freezing a few samples to combine for one sample for the procedure to better the chances, so I think we may do that. I am a little nervous about the trigger, has anyone else done the at home trigger themself?
@CDC23 I did the trigger myself at home. It wasn't that bad. I actually got myself more worked up than i needed to be because it wasn't that big of deal. For me, the soreness for 3 days was way worse than actually injecting myself.

@Colleen0516 no testing or beta for me. I take my hpt in 2 weeks unless I get my -.- first. Other than that I'm on my own. But yeah to being cycle buddies.
Nearing the end on my 2WW (IUI#2 on 8/5). Beta is scheduled for Wed 8/19...thinking of taking HPT monday but not sure if i should...I'm afraid the results will mess with my head one way or another. Thoughts?
Today I am 11dpiui (#2) and having some light cramping on the left side...feeling a little bit different this time around but not sure if it's all in my head...uuughh!
@Navarro1126 you're beta will be 2 days later. That will give you a confirmed answer. Sooo if it's positive, you willbe over the moon. If it's negative, it could be too early and you will know more in 2 days (which can seem like forever but is really only 2 days).

Hi! I am new to this board, and actually replying to the amazing advice and sad struggles that we are all going through. We have been medicating with 50mg of clomid 5-9 for 3 months- luckily, AF makes math easy to do with my day 1 being the first day of the month!
I have ovulated on all 3 cycles of the lowest dose of clomid- after unexplained infertility- I never had a cycle after getting off Loestrin- and with a progesterone challenge I didn't ovulate- I have ovulated nice and pretty with 3 monitored clomid cycles- and Premarin. June- 14.17.18 mm follicles and 7.8 lining bfn July- 15.18 follicle. And 6 lining bfn August- getting monitored at RE now at Northwestern- and 1 solo sad, lonely folli! Cd 14 was 17mm and lining was 6.1- even after doubling Premarin 625 to 2 times daily!
So, we did ovidrel on Friday morning, qnd IUi Saturday (yesterday) DH counts are of course amazing (it always feels like we are the issues
@Drove2u my next appt is on the 26th for my CD 12 u/s. Starting Femara tomorrow. Not sure why I'm not doing a baseline appt this cycle... Maybe because my last two were exactly the same results? I am really hopeful that I ovulate this time on the Femara. I am sick of waiting 30-35 days and then starting Provera and waiting another 10 or so days for AF to show. Well I guess I don't want AF to show at all this month... Hope your appointment goes well tomorrow!

@Krista537 - Where are you at on vacation? That's nice you have that to keep your mind off of things!
@riveridrional - Maybe I will do that too, just to know what a BFP actually looks like. I've seen one for others but never for myself. lol
@KLake42 That's why I won't test out the trigger I think. I would drive myself nuts and just set myself up for disappointment. I do hope you get your BFP though!
@HBamama2B - haha I hope it went well! I am keeping my fx for you.
@Drove2u I am happy to hear you finally got AF and get to start your next cycle of treatment!!
@Mando15 Good luck with the Femara. I hope it works for you and you ovulate. Fx!!
@roosh1982 GL! I read online that soy milk has estrogen in it and helps to thicken your lining. So do foods like apricots and stuff like that. I don't know if you'd want to try that, but might be worth it. I plan to go out and buy some soy milk today and have a glass a day!
I started my 75ml Menopur injections on Friday. I didn't pass out or anything! I am so proud of myself. lol It wasn't AS bad as I thought it would be. I go in tomorrow morning for monitoring then that afternoon I will receive further instruction. I'm sure I will keep up with the injections and have more monitoring on Wednesday, but we shall see.
Someone told me that you can ovulate early on Menopur, is that true? I don't ovulate on my own anyway, or have since I stopped taking BC so I doubt that will be true for me, but it is something to look out for.

@roosh1982 are you referring to the clomid for IUI question? I think the headaches are a common symptom. I did not get any, but lots of women have. I'm not sure about the cold like symptoms. Are you feeling like you have a high temperature? You can experience hot flashes daily.

June- 14.17.18 mm follicles and 7.8 lining bfn
July- 15.18 follicle. And 6 lining bfn
August- getting monitored at RE now at Northwestern- and 1 solo sad, lonely folli! Cd 14 was 17mm and lining was 6.1- even after doubling Premarin 625 to 2 times daily!
So, we did ovidrel on Friday morning, qnd IUi Saturday (yesterday) DH counts are of course amazing (it always feels like we are the issues
I am really hopeful that I ovulate this time on the Femara. I am sick of waiting 30-35 days and then starting Provera and waiting another 10 or so days for AF to show. Well I guess I don't want AF to show at all this month...
Hope your appointment goes well tomorrow!

@Navarro1126 GL to you.
