Went for my CD9 monitoring today. Plenty of follies, but still small (4 at 10mm on the left, one at 10 and one at 8mm on the right). Slightly concerned about that (on my last Letrozole only cycle, I was at 17, 15 and 14mm), but the nurse thinks it's fixing my early ovulation. BUT, my lining is already at 6.4mm whereas it was at 5.3mm that last cycle. So thicker lining and follies that are taking their time to mature. FX that's a good thing! Next monitoring appointment is on Sunday, with IUI likely on Tuesday or Wednesday unless some growing miracle happens between now and then.
Curious to see if someone has done clomid or femara alone first, and then combined with injectibles and what kind of difference you saw?
Good luck and lots of patience to everyone on their TWW! Hopefully I'll be joining you soon!
@adorkablepixie Isn't it funny how when you really want AF to come so you can start treatment and hopefully get that bfp she takes forever to show and when you don't want her she is there early..so frustrating. I hope for both of us she shows up soon..maybe the same day so we will be right on track together this cycle!
@rachlee2010 that would be cool to be on the exact same cycle! Have you seen AF yet? I haven't.
@mummysmomma I might ask my RE about that. I feel like you have a better shot doing two.

@AdorkablePixie I have an appointment Monday morning to check and see what's going on. Blood work and ultrasound. I'm assuming cyst at this point otherwise I'm never late. If anything I'm early.
@rachlee2010 : good luck! I had the same issue of AF not coming as we were finally ready to start IUI. They only did bloodwork, but it turns out I also had a cyst seen on CD3 US. FX AF comes soon for you!
@rachlee2010 : my cycle lasted 32 days when it's usually 25-26 days max (unless I'm on meds). The bloodwork showed that everything was normal and my progesterone was at 3.6 if I remember correctly. So the nurse told me it should be coming soon, and of course it started 2 days later. They were going to check again if it hadn't started within a week of the first blood test.
Curious to see if someone has done clomid or femara alone first, and then combined with injectibles and what kind of difference you saw?
On femara alone, I had 1 to 2 follicles, and tended to surge a bit early.
On a higher dose of femara plus an injectible, I've had 1 or 2 big follicles, plus a few smaller ones (that may or may not grow enough in time to participate), and strangely, am not surging early.

For my first, it was a bit painful getting the through the cervix, and my doctor had to bend the tip of the catheter. Some of us have cervixes that have a bit of curve to them, so those are just tricky. I've heard that for some women, the doctor has to grab the cervix with another tool and pull on it a bit to get through, which is really rough.
But I also had an asymptomatic bacterial infection (vaginal bacteriosis), which for some reason didn't cause them to cancel the procedure, even though it can increase risk of miscarriage (though a lot of pregnant women experience it at some point). When the first IUI didn't work, they gave me a dose of antibiotic, which cleared up the VB.
None of the IUIs since then felt uncomfortable at all (aside from the speculum itself, but I always hate speculums). It's just weird (because I'm gay, so sperm is weird), but they let my wife push the plunger, and then leave us to rest and my wife draws hearts on my belly with a sharpie. So they've all been pleasant enough, aside from the moment of the speculum opening up.

@KLake42 : thanks for the info! Similar pattern here: I also surged early and had short cycles. Seems like this is making it longer. I'm just hoping I'm not spending all this money on injectibles for nothing!
Just had my first iui this morning after being on menopur since July 12th!!! Go back tomorrow for a second round, then on to the wait.....hopefully since it took so long to stim everything will be super ready to go! Lol
@KLake42 I had a lot of pain during both my IUIs and have every day since then. Since you also experienced pain, did you the following days after as well? It keeps me up most nights and I feel like I need a belly heating pad. I'm 12dpiui, so I really thought pain from procedure would be gone by now.

@babyexpress No, the discomfort I had went away pretty quickly. It hurt when it happened, but once everything was out, I only had mild cramps for a couple hours.
Have you had any discharge, especially discharge with a smell? Are you temping, and do you have a fever? Those are the things I was told to call, if they happened, so maybe give your doctor a call.
One thing that has happened for me, sort of separate from the IUI itself, is ovulation cramps that have gone on for a few days. It's not severe, but it's there. My RE said that the ovulation stimulation drugs can cause that.
I also stay on the lookout for symptoms of OHSS. I obviously can't diagnose you, but mild OHSS can cause abdominal cramping (and bloating, nausea, etc.). Most women experience only mild symptoms with it, but if it gets severe, it can be serious, so it's a reason to call your doctor. So long as it's mild, it's not something to panic about. You can still get pregnant this cycle, but if it doesn't happen, you might have to take a break for your next cycle. But if you were just using clomid and no injectibles, then it's probably not OHSS, but it's possible.
So to sum up-- I'm sorry you're hurting. Don't just grit your teeth and bear it-- call your doctor. It's probably not anything to worry about, but that's what your doctor is there for.

@KLake42 No discharge and no discharge with smell. I was also checking my temp and it's been fine as well. It has only been a slight annoyance, but didn't seem alarming. It only got bad about 2 nights ago and my REs office is closed on weekends because I tried calling. I'm seeing my RE in the morning for my beta test. I'll definitely stress my concerns and see how we should proceed.

AF finally showed up this morning. Looks like I'll be starting my meds Wednesday cd3. Going in for my baseline that morning. @AdorkablePixie has af shown for you yet? I was supposed to go in to the dr this morning to get checked as to why she hadn't come so sure enough that's when she decided to come.
@rachlee2010 Nope, not yet unfortunately. I will be calling my doctor tomorrow morning to schedule my ultrasound and bloodwork and we will just proceed since my body doesn't want to do what it is supposed to. Such a bummer because I thought my body was getting back on track too.

So I'm 13dpo and I tested today and got another BFP and I thought I would go in for blood work to make sure it was not a false positive and my Dr office said that they are pretty confident that it is a real BFP because I did my trigger shot 16 days ago and it would no longer be in my system, so to wait and come in on Thursday. I know that I should be happy and excited but until I get a blood test I feel like I can't relax.....

@rachlee2010 : happy for you it finally came! It's so weird how we go from hoping for AF, to hoping it doesn't come back all in a matter of a few weeks. Ah the infertile life...Fingers crossed this is your cycle!
@Emily4554 : Congrats!! I think the stress and disbelief are normal when we've been trying for so long. I've personally never seen what a BFP looks like, so I'm sure I'll be testing repeatedly and freakin out until I'm done the first trimester when/if it happens!
My left ovaries finally decided to wake up! Looks like I may end up with 3 or 4 good follies! And for the first time in my monitored/recorded history, my lining is above 8mm!!! More monitoring tomorrow, and IUI likely Wednesday or Thursday.
I went for my u/s today day 11. I was told I have a 21 on one side and an 11 on the other. I was shocked the tech told me I would trigger tonight and iui on Wednesday cd13. This is my first time. I didn't think it would happen this quick. I don't even know what all of this means. Are these good results? I only have one tube. super nervous about all of this. Any advice?
@Krista537 : you want follies to be ideally between 18-22, so that one is right there! I'm on CD12 and expecting to trigger tomorrow, but this cycle has been a lot slower than when I was on Letrozole only where I usually triggered on CD11. FX for you! I'll most likely be doing my IUI on Wednesday or Thursday, so we'll be going through the TWW together!
Thanks ladies. That is great news. I'm awaiting a cal from the dr. To make sure the large one is on my good side! Hopefully all of good for Wednesday iui. @KidShrink hope all goes well. That would be great to go through together!
Is it normal to have some achy pain in your ovary area, and on and off uterus I had my second round of IUI yesterday morning. And this morning when I move it hurts a little and I'm achy.

@KidShrink thank you so much and to everyone else who has congratulated me.
I know this sounds crazy but right now I can not see the growing embryo and it does not have a HB so the only way to "see" it is to keep taking pregnacy tests. When there finally is a HB I am going to buy one of those fetal dopler I can't wait to get to that point.
All I can say to everyone is stay positive my DH and I have been trying for over 4 years and have had losses but keep the faith and keep trying!
@Emily4554 Congratulations! I a so happy to hear that!
