mcarmouche This is my first month doing IUI as well. I'm hoping I can have it done on Thursday. As of this morning, I have two follies at 13.5 and 13.9mm. I'm hoping they are at least 16mm by Wednesday. DH goes out of town Thursday night, so we won't have another opportunity. I'm actually ovulating later than normal this month, not sure if it's cuz of the clomid. FYI, just in case it happens to you.
I don't know how much all this monitoring is costing us, but I've already had three ultrasounds and blood tests this cycle and I'm going in for a forth on Wedneday. I'm scared to ask, but at this point I really don't care.
Hi Everyone! I am so glad that this community exists as I am feeling a little overwhelmed knowing that I will be starting my first cycle with Clomid, Ovidrel and IUI on Wednesday. I am mostly concerned about side effects with Clomid. Does anyone know if I should stay out of the sun while on the medication?

I'm sure there is a Trader Joes and Whole Foods somewhere around here but I am not really sure where. My cousin is visiting tomorrow through Friday or Saturday though so maybe we will go on an adventure! lol

I went in for my u/s and bloodwork yesterday. My lining increased from 4mm to 5.34mm. Not much, but its a start! My nurse was out yesterday so a different nurse called me with the results later of everything else. My estrogen was at 168. I wasn't sure what that meant so I tried to research it. I didn't have any measurable follicles though, I had a lot just none of them were big enough. That was kinda a let down. Has me a little bummed. I must have misunderstood the measurements the tech took last week. I go in tomorrow for another u/s and bloodwork to see where I am at now. Fx things have progressed! If not, I think they might up my meds.

@chuckers19 clomid didn't really do anything except for headache and hot flashes, I had no problem in the sun. I hear you all about the lining- is anyone on Premarin? My ob put me on it bc it thickens the lining-- I personally don't think it's working all that great. My lining is a 6.1, I'm going to re now, and asked the APN yesterday (2dpiui) if I could have supplements for lining- she said no
@AdorkablePixie that great news about your lining, sorry about your follicles! But if you have some but they just aren't measurable yet, maybe they will grow! Keep hoping! They can grow a lot over night!

@AdorkablePixie my lining was also thin at 4.7 I think but the dr wasn't too concerned as its early. My estrogen was way lower than yours at 35 but the nurse said femara that I took can lower it so it was normal. I had one good follow at 10 mm and like 6 small ones that she didn't measure. They upped my menopur injection dose for last night and tonight. I go back again tomorrow for another check. Keep me posted on your progress
Well, I'm out. BFN on 13 dpo/dpiui, and it's not likely to change tomorrow.
Aaaaaand I may be in for a second Aug IUI, depending on when my cycle actually starts. (I've had IUIs on CD11 before.) But it will probably be on 9/1 or 9/2.
To make things extra exciting, I have jury duty on 9/2. A medical excuse can get it deferred, so maybe I can work that out.
So I'm ready for AF to show herself, and then diving back into it all. I was sad yesterday. Today, I'm recognizing that I had some lovely follicles, the best so far, and so I'm going to stick with this for at least 2 more cycles.

@Colleen0516 : went to my acupuncture appointment today 7dpiui. He was taking my 'pulse' on the right as usual, then moved to the left, back to the right and so on, and finally told me it was very good. I then spent 45 minutes lying down wondering what that meant. Needless to say, I didn't fall asleep today! When I asked him after, he recommended that I come back on Friday as it was still a little too early to tell, but that my body is very energetic right now and that he thinks I have a 60-70% chance of a BFP. I called DH when I got out and he said that if he was wrong and that was a tactic to get me to book yet another appointment, he was going to punch him in the face. So not exactly the excited reaction I was expecting, but then again DH doesn't quite believe in acupuncture. I've been feeling quite tired and nauseous at times, but not convinced it's not just coming from the progesterone. Does your acupunctor check your pulse that way? Has he said anything so far? Really curious to hear. My cheapies are coming in tomorrow, so I have a feeling I'll be obsessively POAS until Monday.
Left the bump for a while due to being devastated with my husbands reversal bring a failed procedure. So after a few months discussing and speaking to our dr we decided to use a sperm donor. Today I am 11 dpiui (natural) and the 2ww feels like forever. I have been cramping on and off since 5 dpiui and feels like AF is going to come. Usually my boobs start hurting and can barley be touched by now and they only hurt on the sides. Here's to hoping it's a bfp but don't want to get my hopes up either.

I'm 6 dpiui, I'm really uncomfortable with bloating and I am also experiencing pain on my right side for 2 days. It feels like ovary pain I'm hoping it's not a cyst but that's what it feel Like. Any others?
@Colleen0516 Yeah, I heard they can grow 2mm a night, so I am hoping we have some measurable ones tomorrow!
@HBamama2B I am on like cycle day 49 but I have irregular cycles. I started to get "normal" April, May, June, and July after not having a period in over a year. Then this month, nothing. So I am starting from scratch pretty much. I go in for another u/s and blood work tomorrow so hopefully things have improved!

I am 4dpiui. First IUI cycle after trying for more than an year and a half. After about 1 year was able to find my O day. Keeping a positive spirit but trying to not get too hopeful. Have beta scheduled for Aug. 28th.

Crazy thing happened today, I swear I had ovulation pain, but can't figure out how that could be. I've never had it before, and I'm anovulatory so that makes sense. It was a sharp pinching feeling distinctly in the vicinity of my ovaries, not my uterus. Lasted maybe 30min or so. But my trigger shot was on Friday and my IUI was Saturday!
They never confirm ovulation with u/s so I have no way of knowing. It's supposed to happen within 48 hrs though and it's been days! I did have a tiny bit of blood and fluid 5dp trigger last cycle and the nurse thought it might have been a cyst, but know I'm wondering if I'm some rare late O unicorn/beast and our IUI timing is terrible.
Ive been temping so we will see if that confirms it. This happen with anyone else? So confused!
Well, I may be out. Temped this morning and got 98.3 (up from 97.7-97.9 everyday prior). This supports the thought that I may have Od yesterday when I had the ovary pain...way too late for the IUI on Saturday to have worked. (Trigger was Friday)
We BD on Sunday and last night so I'll keep my FX (with DH low morphology it's very unlikely.) If there's a board for unlikely things to happen tho, this is it!!

@Krista537 yep. I am on 5 dpiui and I was swollen (I gained 4 lbs of water weight- now back down to 1) and had headaches, bloating And cramping. It's better today- I asked the nurse and she suggested 500mg of Tylenol but if blurry vision to call ASAP
Thanks ladies for being supportive of my weird acupuncture! I looked it up and there's a lot of info about it, and apparently they'd even be able to predict gender, depending on which side the pulse is stronger. I'm feeling more right (which would mean a girl), and I'm definitely feeling the rolling pearl pulse they're talking about (although I would have loved to know this before so I could compare myself). Tried taking DH's pulse and it definitely feels different. But then about 50% of people who were told they were pregnant weren't...so I don't know! Not sure I'd continue with acupuncture if his prediction wasn't accurate though...
@roosh1982 Thank you. I was thinking on calling the doctor but I didn't want to sound dramatic. The pin feels better this morning but it is still there. The boating has gone away. But it seems to come back throughout the day. At least the pain has gotten a little better.
So I just went in for my baseline ultrasound and I have a cyst so we can't do any medication or IUI and have to wait a whole cycle and hope the cyst goes away. Has this happened to anyone? I'm a little confused by what it is and how it's caused. I'm sitting in my car trying not to cry because I have to go back to work. I'm so disappointed. We've already taken a few months off so I could have a polyp removed. I just feel like I sit around and wait.

@lilmissslp : have they checked your bloodwork? @Drove2u and myself have had a cyst at our baseline us this cycle but were both cleared to start because it wasn't producing any estrogen. It eventually just went away on its own (after a few days).
Really? They didn't say anything about that to me! They just said we couldn't move on this cycle because medication would make the cyst grow. Thanks for the helpful info. I'll have to call the nurse and ask.

14dpiui #2 had beta this morning...just waiting on results. Had 1 follie at 23...Dr. Said it was "really pretty" lol so feeling hopefull ☺ HPT I took Monday night was BFN but hoping levels were to low for the HPT to detect...if not, sushi and wine are on the menu tonight! :-?

Currently had 2 rounds of failed IUIs, failed TI monitored cycle December 2015: Starting 1st IVF cycle January 2016: Retrieval March 2016: Pending Transfer (I have 3 PGS tested embryos waiting for a womb) April 2016: BFP, the old fashioned way.
That's right. I had a medium sized cyst and they said not to worry about it unless it's producing estrogen. A call a few hours later said the cyst is not producing estrogen and I can start clomid now. It's weird they would cancel the cycle because of a cyst without even checking blood work first.
@lilmissslp it happened to me. I had a cyst after taking clomid. It prevented AF from showing up and then I couldn't take any meds that cycle. IT was my first cycle with my new RE and I was bummed. She told us to def try on our own that month which we did and by the next month it wasn't completely gone but was small enough that we could continue on with treatment. It sucks..sorry
@adorkablepixie how was your appointment this morning? Mine was fine. I have one great follicle at 15mm and two smaller ones around 9-10mm. My lining is thinner than they would like so I am starting to take estrace vaginally tonight. I am also continuing the menopur and going back tomorrow. She said she would be seeing me daily now until the trigger and iui.. The nurse thinks I will probably trigger on Friday and IUI would be Sunday. (which is perfect for our weekend plans to go away friday into sat. I still have to wait to hear from the nurse regarding my bloodwork.
@lilmissslp what a horrible day! I'm sorry to hear that. I second @kidshrink, my last cycle I had a cyst identified on day 3 blood work, but it was small and they let me do the cycle anyway. They didn't test for estrogen. It wasn't a successful cycle, but it would have been agonizing to hear we couldn't move forward. I hope you get the green light!
Thank you ladies for your help. I called back and they said that because it was larger than 16mm they don't move forward. That medication could make it larger and that could be dangerous. I don't know…I'm just bummed I have to wait another cycle and hope it's gone.

@lilmissslp: that'd odd they wouldn't rely on your bloodwork to determine that. Mine was at 23mm on CD3 and was gone at some point between CD6 and 9 despite using both Femara and Follistim. I didn't respond as well to the meds as I had anticipated, but it surely didn't make the cyst grow. I guess they won't budge, but that's just odd. Sorry
That is really weird and it stinks they are so set on it! I'll really have to talk to them about it when I go in next cycle. They must not realize how hard it is to wait!

Aaaaaand I may be in for a second Aug IUI, depending on when my cycle actually starts. (I've had IUIs on CD11 before.) But it will probably be on 9/1 or 9/2.
To make things extra exciting, I have jury duty on 9/2. A medical excuse can get it deferred, so maybe I can work that out.
So I'm ready for AF to show herself, and then diving back into it all. I was sad yesterday. Today, I'm recognizing that I had some lovely follicles, the best so far, and so I'm going to stick with this for at least 2 more cycles.
7 IUIs, 7 BFNs.
2 IVF attempts, both cancelled and converted to IUI, both BFNs.
Decided that my tired old ovaries are ready to retire.
Next step- reciprocal IVF, using my wife's eggs, my uterus!

@HBamama2B I am on like cycle day 49 but I have irregular cycles. I started to get "normal" April, May, June, and July after not having a period in over a year. Then this month, nothing. So I am starting from scratch pretty much. I go in for another u/s and blood work tomorrow so hopefully things have improved!

I haven't gone to acupuncture since IUI. I'm 3dpiui today, but I'm going on Thursday (5dpiui). I'll ask him about my pulse!

Found out I was positive for MTHFR Gene Mutation during TWW of IVF #4
Crazy thing happened today, I swear I had ovulation pain, but can't figure out how that could be. I've never had it before, and I'm anovulatory so that makes sense. It was a sharp pinching feeling distinctly in the vicinity of my ovaries, not my uterus. Lasted maybe 30min or so. But my trigger shot was on Friday and my IUI was Saturday!
They never confirm ovulation with u/s so I have no way of knowing. It's supposed to happen within 48 hrs though and it's been days! I did have a tiny bit of blood and fluid 5dp trigger last cycle and the nurse thought it might have been a cyst, but know I'm wondering if I'm some rare late O unicorn/beast and our IUI timing is terrible.
Ive been temping so we will see if that confirms it. This happen with anyone else? So confused!
We BD on Sunday and last night so I'll keep my FX (with DH low morphology it's very unlikely.) If there's a board for unlikely things to happen tho, this is it!!
