@mummysmomma they wanted to test you 3dpiui? Did you do a trigger shot day before IUI?

Hello ladies! I went in for my u/s and bloodwork this morning. My lining was very thin (4mm), but I did have a lot of follies. The doctor immediately said my low estrogen was causing it, he asked me if I had taken provera before and I told him yes and it did nothing. My nurse just called me and asked if I had my menopur yet. I told her no (I wish I did, UGH!) and she said they'd like me to go ahead and start the treatment now since taking provera won't do anything since my lining is so thin and the FSH and LH are baseline. So when I get home today I am calling the insurance company and ordering my meds so I can get started!
@rachlee2010 We might be close to the same days on our IUIs. Yay!

So I just got home from my first iui. Everything went fantastic. No pain at all. I assumed the position to relax for 15 minutes on the table and not soon after the fire alarms went off and the entire faculty was evacuated! I'm not even sure if I'm upset/nervous about getting right up after procedure. On the other hand am laughing and thinking maybe it's a sign.
@adorkablepixie we are going to be right around the same timing..Yay..it's nice to have someone on the same timetable to go through this with. I am still waiting for the nurse to call with my exact instructions but I am assuming I am starting my letrozole tonight and possibly the menopur too. We are both taking menopur as well. Are you taking just menopur or anything with it? My plan is the letrozole and menopur and then the ovidrel trigger when it's time. Keep me posted on your status. I also had a lot of follicles (at least for me that is) so fingers crossed for both of us
@Krista537 - Lol!!! That is too funny. My understanding is that you don't really need to lay on the table afterwards - some drs. tell you not to bother at all! So the alarm likely didn't affect your chances, I wouldn't worry. Good luck, I'm rooting for ya!
@Krista537 I just did my IUI this am too! It went well!! Best count my husband has had since we started. So, that was positive. I have 4 eggs ready to go. So, on to the 2ww!
@KidShrink When is your IUI? I thought we were around the same time too?
Good luck @rachlee2010 and @AdorkablePixie! You guys are right around the corner! Then we can all enjoy this fabulous wait together.
@Krista537 oh my gosh, that is funny. I would agree with @ErikaMG that it probably won't effect your chances. REs probably just do it for extra measurements. Were you able to release your bladder? I had to hold my bladder all morning and by the time that 15 min timer went off I was running to restroom.

Thanks everyone! I thought it was pretty funny myself! I didn't have to hold my bladder thankfully! @AMT&THC we will be waiting together. Good luck to all of us!
@AMT&THC : it happened yesterday! My nurse called me in a panic Monday afternoon (at 4:30pm!) as they realized I was having my LH surge when we thought I had an extra day. So I have at least one good follie, and hopefully the stragglers on my left ovary continued to grow (from sunday night to yesterday morning, I felt all kinds of twitches on my left ovary), and then I might have had 3 or 4.
DH's count were great (that was never an issue), and I laid there for 5 minutes after (their instruction), so 15 is probably more to make you feel like it's doing something, but I doubt it changes anything
@KidShrink Great to hear! YEAH!!! I didn't go to the bathroom for an hour after....bahahaha...like that makes any difference. Oh the games we play with ourselves :-) On to the wait...feeling good today. Positive. That will last, based on previous times, about 7 days...then, I'll go crazy! AHHHH!
@AMT&THC : i know, it's so hard. I want to believe it can happen (and I guess I have to to be going through all this), but in two years of TTC, I've never seen what a BFP looks like, so I have a hard time believing it ever will. Then I need to reassure myself that a lot has been found and hopefully fixed since. A very good friend of mine is aware of the details and knew about the IUI yesterday and I told her the beta date...she sent me a text this morning saying '12 days to go' (I'm known for countdowns I guess)...had to explain to her that this wasn't a countdown to something that was 100% sure to be positive (trip, wedding, etc) and therefore the external reminders were a little difficult. At least she got it...
@AMT&THC and @Krista537 GL on your TWW. I hope you both get your BFPS!
@Krista537 that is so funny about the fire alarm. That seems like something that would happen to me, that's my kind of luck. lol
@KidShrink I am nearing the two year mark too. It just gets more and more upsetting. I hope you get your BFP this round. FX for you!
@rachlee2010 I can't wait for my meds to come in so I can get started! lol They should be here tomorrow, so I will start tomorrow night. For now I am just on Menopur with the Ovidrel trigger shot. I am wondering if what they are giving me will be enough though, with how little my body seems to be doing on it's own. Hopefully it will be!
@AdorkablePixie we will be right around each other. I started my letrozole last night and am taking it for 5 days. I start the menopur on Friday night. Go in for my first check on Monday. Keep me posted on your progress. We can be iui and hopefully bfp buddies!!!
I'm one week in the 2WW and it's killing me! I haven't felt any different except for sensitive nipples and bb's which always happens before AF. I'm already feeling like this cycle isn't going to work, but I know I'm just expecting it not to work because I can't even imagine the day I get a BFP. Can't wait until next Thursday.
@jlynn330: good luck! Are you planning on testing before? I'm having my beta on Monday the 24 and we may be out of town for the weekend, so that might prevent me from testing early. I hear ya on not expecting it to work...when you've never seen a BFP, it's hard to imagine it'll ever happen. As much as I want this to work, I think I'd be in complete disbelief if I got a BFP! FX for you!
@rachlee I'm not sure how long I will be on the menopur, I'm guessing for 7-10 days? I go in Monday for my u/s and bloodwork to check on everything. It would be cool if we end up having our IUIs on the same day!!
@jlynn330 there is hope! I know what you mean about the BFP though, I can't even imagine getting one. I've never seen one from myself personally.

@KidShrink I'm going to wait at least until 12dpiui which would be next Tuesday. I don't have a blood test scheduled. Either my period comes on the 20th or I get a positive hpt. Hope we both get our BFP!
@jlynn330 & @KidShrink I have never seen a bfp either so I have no idea how it feels and I hate to say this very negative thought...but know you'll understand...I may never feel it or see it. So, won't we all be amazed if it happens? And, you both must promise to tell me what it feels like in vivid detail...don't leave anything out :-) FX.
Sorry, I haven't check in 2 days-- 42 new posts to catch up on!!
@kidshrink@rachlee2010 My lining thicken ALOT and quick! Acupuncture must be helping-- im very excited! Here's how my week went in numbers: Monday: lining 4 & lots of follies 10's & 11's Tuesday: no US (we to acuputure) Wednesday: lining jumped to a 5.7 & follies grew to 14's, 15's and 16's Today: lining is 7.1 follicles are 18's,19's & 20's I'm triggering tonight IUI on Saturday!!
My lining never jumps that much!! It goes in tenths- 4.0 to maybe 4.7 to maybe 5.5... Usually it's slow and steady. So to go from 4 to 5.7,and then 5.7 to 7.1, that's huge for me!
It's hard to keep up with 42 messages... I need to check sooner! Who else had IUI or is scheduled soon?

@Colleen0516 wow!! Those numbers are fantastic! What a great cycle for you! <:-P
I go in for my US and possibly trigger tomorrow then IUI this weekend if it looks good. Our RE doesn't do any early monitoring so this is the first I'll see if how I responded. Biting my nails all day wondering if I'll have any decent follies!
@AMT&THC I have never seen a BFP either and often have a feeling like "of course it won't be positive...ever." I mean rationally if something is always one way, why would your mind identify it differently? I try to ignore my rational (pessimistic) side. FX we both get the shock of our lives soon!!!
@Colleen 0516 WOW! Great cycle! I am excited for you!!! Whoop whoop! This is gonna be the month!
@KidShrink I hope that we defy the odds! That would be wonderful. Stranger things have happened, right?
@HBamama2B Yes, it would certainly be the shock of my life if I did see a BFP. I know it's pessimistic to think that it will never happen....but sometimes....when you least expect it.... ;-)
@AMT&THC @HBamama2B Thanks!! I hope it's my month (I hope it's ALL OF OUR months!!) Even though my numbers were great, I'm still so nervous and skeptical. I'm afraid to get my hopes up again.
Triggering in an hour- ugh I hate the needle! Mentally preparing. How am I ever going to survive IVF?? X_X Praying this IUI works so I don't have to find out!!!

@Colleen0516 : that's awesome! FX for you! How's the acupuncture going for you? And how often do you go? I'm now finally finding it relaxing, and I think it's in good part because the room is a lot darker (the one I've been in the last 2-3 times has no windows whereas the other ones did...too much light). Anyway, I fell asleep yesterday (day after IUI) and am going back tomorrow. Then probably once next week, and my beta on the following monday.
@didi0308 : I'm not testing out my trigger...I want to save my first positive test for an actual BFP. My RE schedules the betas 14 days after the trigger.
@KidShrink acupuncture is much better! I go 2 times a week, and i lay there for about 30 minutes. I'm much more relaxed with it now. Not napping yet, but I was close to falling asleep today. Lol I agree that the darker rooms help! They need thick curtains in all those rooms. Ps: I'm investing in one of those heat lamps; They are amazing! Out of curiosity, where does your acupuncturist put the needles? How many times a week do you go?

@Colleen0516 : I've been going twice a week too, but I think he mentioned me coming only once next week. He doesn't use a heat lamp or anything like that with me, just a bunch of towels over me to keep me warm. Needles have been pretty much in the same place every time so far: ears, a bunch around my uterus and ovaries, and then lower calf/ankles. You?
@Colleen0516 GL!! Fx for you. Those numbers were all great.
@KidShrink and @Colleen0516 weird question... Are you guys naked/mostly naked for acupuncture? I've been thinking about looking into it and seeing if my insurance covers it. I really hate needles though..

@AdorkablePixie : no, not naked. I'm often wearing dresses, so I end up having to pull it up and I put a towel so only my stomach shows (although some of the needles are quite low, but I still have my underwear on ). Otherwise, you'd just undo your pants and pull them down a little and lift you shirt up to above the belly button.
I know I'm only 5dpiui (7 dp trigger) but I have this feeling it didn't work.... I have had pain on my right side, similar to ovulation pain, but a lot more. I've been trying not too test but I took one this AM and it was neg. I think I'm just feeling down. Still keeping my fx.

Had my u/s this morning everything looked good - 2 right follies at 19 and 20, 1 left follie at 20. They triggered and IUI tomorrow. So that's good, but he said our chances are below 10% due to hubby's low morphology so we will just have to see. Doc said only 1 more IUI after this cycle and then he recommends straight to IVF ICSI since our odds are so low. So great and kinda sad morning. Still having that instant evaporation of anxiety that comes with seeing mature follies! Now onto the IUI and our 2ww!!!
@mummysmomma : you're right that it hasn't worked...yet Implantation takes place only 6-12 days post IUI. There would be nothing to detect before then. On the plus side, it does mean the trigger is already out of your system. We're with you...the TWW sucks! I try not to symptom spot, but today I'm feeling a heaviness around my uterus, as if AF was about to come (makes no sense, I'm 3dpiui, 4dptrigger and I'm on the gross progesterone suppositories). Who knows what my mind is creating at this point!

@AMT&THC I have never seen a BFP either and often have a feeling like "of course it won't be positive...ever." I mean rationally if something is always one way, why would your mind identify it differently? I try to ignore my rational (pessimistic) side. FX we both get the shock of our lives soon!!!
Even though my numbers were great, I'm still so nervous and skeptical. I'm afraid to get my hopes up again.
Triggering in an hour- ugh I hate the needle! Mentally preparing.
How am I ever going to survive IVF?? X_X
Praying this IUI works so I don't have to find out!!!

@didi0308 : I'm not testing out my trigger...I want to save my first positive test for an actual BFP. My RE schedules the betas 14 days after the trigger.
Ps: I'm investing in one of those heat lamps; They are amazing!
Out of curiosity, where does your acupuncturist put the needles?
How many times a week do you go?

@KidShrink and @Colleen0516 weird question... Are you guys naked/mostly naked for acupuncture? I've been thinking about looking into it and seeing if my insurance covers it. I really hate needles though..
How is everyone else doing on their 2ww or waiting to get their IUIs?
