@mamrotu73 I totally thought of you today. There are air races going on near my house today, and as I was watching planes doing cool tricks on my drive home I thought "I bet Gail can do that"
Hoping my exchange buddy doesn't mind white after labour day? Do you think the owls need eyes?
Block it, then give one eyes @RedDawnsRevenge. That's how I made mine, and it's cute 'cause then you can wear it to the side. That way people can tell they're owls, but it doesn't look so bulky and cluttered. Eyes on every owl tends to look clunky. I've never seen it done well.

@poru Noooooo! We've been battling ours for over a month. I thought we had them licked, didn't see anything for two weeks. Last night a sink full of dirty dishes was left (Hubbs usually does them and he had a long day) and they were back. Nooooooooo!
I remember my first experience with Northern California ants. It looked like our kitchen counter was moving there were so many. *shudder*

Was waiting to block it until after the girls had gone to bed. Steam and kids = no beuno. Will try the single owl with eyes, that's a good idea.
Sweat- DS1 has always had the nastiest smelling feet. I had to throw away a bunch of baby shoes because the stink was so bad. My mom always told us that "If his sweat smells sweet then it's true love." My DH sweat really doesn't bother me unless it's like gross sweaty clothes that he's forgotten to wash for days.
On another note, I'm taking DS1 to a mom's morning out program tomorrow! I know it's obviously not school at all, but I have to pack him a lunch for it. I wish I could be a fly on the wall and watch him eat his little lunch with the other kids. His cousins all go to "school" (daycare) so I know he will be so excited to go to his own!
I'm glad to live in a place cold enough where the bugs die in the winter! We have snrain (snow/rain) forecast for tonight. I hope we have a fall and don't just jump into winter, but the abscence of bugs would be nice. LO has been up 3x so far tonight screaming this high pitched squeal. DH got annoyed with him, I suggested it was gas, DH didn't listen and chose to hold him in bed and bounce him when he fussed. An hour later he passed him back to me- I bicycled his legs a bit, got a few big farts, and he passed out. Mama knows best, DH!

Usually Sullivan fusses at his 4:30-5am wake up, instead I woke up to him cooing. He's had his pants changed and a bottle, most nights he would be out by now, but he's happy and (mostly) quiet, so I am not worried. I think he's serenading his feet.
Can we revisit this sleuthing conversation? I want to sleuth. And I'm nosy so I want to know what we should be sleuthing. OMG I NEED TO KNOW WHAT IS HAPPENING
The ants at my parents house would go into the freezer in the garage then freeze to death or just smooshed by the closing door. They also went in the dishwasher to die by drowning. Stupid ants.
In FL we have fire ants in the yard. But I'm allergic to them and my foot and lower leg will swell up from one bite. So I made DH get the sprinkle on poison and put it on every hill. Also, we have a pest guy spray (also for termites). Bonus: that lowers our homeowners insurance.
I'm in FL as well and went from a 2nd floor condo to a house on 2 acres and the bugs are freaking endless! We had a lot of spiders when we first moved in and I made SO spray when I went into the hospital to have DS and when we came home there were dead bugs in alllllll the corners (bleh!). Now it's just an outside thing but we are getting backyard married in a few months and I'm thinking he's gonna need to kill every ant hill on the property first. Especially for people like you who get super reactiony, I would feel like such an asshole otherwise lol
Effff - hand foot and mouth is continuing to bite me in the ass... So apparently some nastier variations can cause finger and toenails to be effected. Of course we got the nasty variety in our house, but I thought maaaaybe I'd be lucky. Aiden had both fingernails on his middle fingers peel apart at the nail bed about two-three weeks ago and they're mostly grown back out now. I hadn't seen anything on me, so figured I was in the clear - WRONGO. My toenail is doing the same damned thing and I just noticed.
Ugh - of course it's going to take forever for this to grow out. I'd just finally gotten to the point where my nails didn't look like crap (thanks pregnancy) and now this!
I'm jealous of the cold weather you're all experiencing! We spend so much time outside with practices and game and I'm a sweaty mess! It should not be 90 degrees for almost half the year.
Anyone else's kiddo's toes getting chewed up from bouncers and exersaucers and whatnot?
A spends more time in his jumperoo than he probably should. He just bounces and smiles. But nothing wrong with his toes. We have a pillow under his feet because he doesn't quite touch the ground yet though.
Ugh. M won't keep socks on for more than 30 seconds and when I put a blanket under him (too tall for a pillow) he kicks that away too. His little toes are all peely and stuff.
OG is sleeping on her side in my bed. She just woke herself up and started fussing because she lost her pacifier. Before I could get in there she found it and went back to sleep.
Why can't you do that at night kid?!?! We would all be happier!

The spiders in Florida are insane. We now live on 8 acres in nokomis and the spiders dangling from the trees at night between my car and the door freak me out. I have a terrible phobia of spiders. This is the main reason I was opposed to moving in with my inlaws. Aside from the fact they annoy the hell out if me!
I have a Betty Crocker cookbook for newlyweds, but I haven't cracked it yet. For you epic chef ladies here, what cookbooks do you love?
I LOVE the Betty Crocker cookbook--particularly for classic recipes. Our favorites are the potato salad, pancakes, banana bread, coffee cakes, puffy oven pancake with apples. I also like Alton Brown's recipes online. Whenever I make something new, I use his recipes because they explain the cooking methods so well.
Everyone should have the Betty Crocker cookbook! I actually have it out right now for the potatoes au gratin recipe.
Alton also rules, agreed. We just made his gazpacho recipe with our garden tomatoes and it rocked.
I have a ton of cookbooks but I find myself mostly using allrecipes.com and later printing out the ones we really like and keeping them in a binder.
Well I made it 3 weeks in to pumping at work before the inevitable happened. I turned the pump on and was absentmindedly reading TB when I realized I forgot to attach the bottles. Damn wet pants and wasted BM.

I am afraid of spiders. I like orb weavers, but no other types. I have an air soft pistol with no pelts just air that I use to kill spiders. The blast of air shreds them. The black widows here make dollar coins look small.

Logan's toes have done that too. He doesn't seem bothered by it though.

I accidentally left 15oz of milk on the counter last night and almost died when I saw it this morning. DH is all "I don't see what the big deal is. You have a bunch more in the freezer". TP.
I finally have an IRL friend nearby that I can just text "Wanna go do stuff? Maybe wander target." and she says "Hells yes! I'll be over in a few." And now I'm moving. Sad face.
For this afternoon though, we are getting food and wandering.
I wish I had a friend like that! Sorry you have to move away from her. Hopefully you'll find a new friend like that when you move!
