I also feel so isolated and have no IRL friends who are in the same place in life. I have some friends that I went to nursing school with and am close with them but they are either 10 years older with middle/high schoolers or early 20 something's with no kids or spouses. The one friend with a young kid and another on the way moved 4 hours away the day I delivered DD.
I also live in a really conservative, religious area and just don't fit in here. It's hard to meet other moms unless you are part of a church, which I have never been to.
I empathize with you! We moved away from all of our college friends, but none of them were even married. Completely different stage in life. All of our other friends are our age but aren't interested in having babies right now for one reason or another even though they're in their late 20s!? And I DO go to church, but no one there has babies.

@mamrotu73 don't know if you're near a Dutch Brothers but it's patriots day so it's free coffee with your ID or VA card!
It's another save power day today. Am supposed to turn the lights and AC off from2-6pm. It's supposed to be only 102 today. Working on filling my first Etsy order so I might take the girls to the park. I know being on my iPhone at the park is taboo, but what if I baby wear and knit?
Haha! I just realized that when I had my first baby I was very young and none of my friends had babies which made it very isolating. Now on baby #3, I'm super old and everyone is already out of the baby stage. I can't win here. Avery's cheer moms and Girl Scout moms are nice but we're not friends and Austin's football moms are about 10 years older than me and are terrible awful bitches who hate me. GODDAMMIT I WISH YOU GUYS LIVED IN ATLANTA
Does she cheer for all star or rec? Atlanta is the best place in the world for cheer, and I know some great moms down there. The non psycho cheer mom kind.
Sooooo tired. DH leaves for a work trip today and gets three nights of sleep. What an asshat.
She is in rec. last year her rec team formed a completion squad but there weren't enough girls this year to enter. I thought about putting her in Ga all stars or stingrays (if you've heard about them) We actually were talking about this last night. Poor kid still can't do a cartwheel though! I hate to say it but she's not an athlete
Thanks for all the suggestions! I've got the evening to myself tonight (yay no kids!) so I just might go on a small shopping spree. I'm trying to keep myself from buying another wrap since that's still baby related...but those Gira Rainbows are screaming at me!

@3crazykitties but my sister just told me she's going back on tour... What the heck is going on??
I would die if Beyoncé was your sister! I am obsessed with Beyoncé. In fact I am sitting in my car waiting for drunk in love to finish before gathering my things for the contraband exchange.
DUDE!!! I am a gigantic beyonce fan. Like member of the beygency type fan. This is amazing. We can totally watch concert DVDs if you come for vacation here. I have them all btw
Ughhh. Screaming angry baby finally falls asleep, until the damn dog starts barking at the noisy people in the basement. After even more intense screaming I finally get her down again and the damn tv starts screaming the obnoxious test of the emergency broadcast system. She just fell asleep again and I finally get an opportunity to shower and all I want to do is take a nap. This happened yesterday when something in the basement set off all the smoke detectors. I can't wait until this damn basement is finished.

I didn't know you were from Atlanta. Atlanta is the farthest East and South I've been in the US. I went there with a colleague in 2006 to visit CocaCola since we were licensing them for t-shirts. We did a shopping tour of the city while we were there-probably while I like it so much. But anyways it really made an impression on me, it was beautiful and I loved all the traditional brick houses which are so different from West Coast homes. I haven't been back, but I certainly will if the opportunity arrises.
I just learned the state I work for has a "Bring your infant to work" program for the Division of Public and Behavioral Health, and it may possibly be a department wide policy for Health and Human Services, so potentially I might be able to bring LO to work on days that I don't have home visits until she is mobile. I'm so excited at the prospect. I hope it is a department wide policy!

Also Feather Baby is great!
I know, I love it here. If I could live anywhere in the US it'd be Atlanta or somewhere in California.
I haven't even gone shopping for my contraband buddy - maybe I'll go shop tonight? I've been putting in major overtime (paid thank god) at work this week, and I need to get out of this office before I tear my hair out!
I got a few things but unfortunately since starting the exchange group I have found my person can't have/ dislikes what I got her. So I'm continuing my hunt for the local things ( all things California)
I forgot to tell y'all that yesterday was Edolie's 4-month appointment. She's 15lb. 12oz. and 26". And there was a new, temporary nurse practitioner that saw her, and I mentioned to him that she started TRYING to sit up in her bouncer a couple of days ago. So after feeling her spine, he just lets go of her to put something in his pocket! If I hadn't been standing by her she probably would've toppled off the exam table!

Feeling needlessly sad today. I had a dream last night that I was using my phone to take of video of Carlene playing with her twin, then I looked up and watched them play and smile and laugh together. They were about 8 months old in the dream and so happy. In the dream, I was thinking "Why don't I ever respond to any of the 'Mom's of Twins' threads on TB. I need to go do that.
Then I woke up and remembered that we lost Carlene's twin when I was 8 weeks pregnant.
I realize that it is pointless to be sad about this now, but I still am. DH is hunting this week, so I can't even talk to him about it.
Still happy for my healthy baby girl, though! And DS LOVES his little sister!

I haven't started shopping for the exchange yet. I'm alone with the kids for 10 days, so my spare time doesn't happen until they go to bed. My Mom is going to be taking DS Saturday for 24 hours, so that is when I'll do my shopping.

@Twirple It's ok to grieve for and miss the child you lost, at the same time that you are thankful for the one you still have. I don't think that it's pointless to be sad about that. Just snuggle Carlene extra today.
I really don't want to procrastinate the exchange, but it's been crazy busy around here lately and next week is DS1s birthday, so all the party planning is happening. I'm hoping to get something this weekend.
@twirple you have a reason to grove your lost twin. That baby was yours and even though you have your little Carlene it's still a loss. I'm glad you are grateful to have your sweet Carlene. @luclysquare, Dylan's bottom teeth just came in this week and it didn't even occur to me to give him some Tylenol. I'm an idiot
I'm beginning to hate breast feeding. Ds only eats from one side and that nipple is getting more and more sore by the day. I want him to sleep longer anddddd I selfishly want to lose weight, drink what I want and eat whatever I want without feeling guilty.
I am a lurker extraordinaire now. mostly just fbing since it's easier on mobile and lovetits. working again, pumping and bumping is impossible cause I need to pump and eat. So poppy huh? I thought something was off but ignored it clearly like everyone else except Kendra. Following her on Instagram and her life is back to norm. Will unfollow soon. 4mo appt today and Andrew is 17.5lbs.... @deidremaria thinking about you- that's a tough situation. @Twirple that's really heart wrenching about your dream @NoLaLinz love that about your DSD!! happy Thursday everyone! Here's my chunky ducky!!
