My heart broke for DD today. First, she fell at the splash pad and scratched her entire face. She was bleeding every where so I cleaned her up, changed her into dry clothes and let her play at the regular park. Then there were two little boys playing that were so mean to her. One of them pushed and KICKED her! They had to of been the same age so it's not like he didn't know better. Then their moms did nothing. Absolutely nothing! I was livid.
Then when we were in the car she says "mommy, they didn't like me.." What am I supposed to say to that? I felt horrible for her. I know stuff like that is going to happen but it's still sad when it happens to your kid.
So sorry that happened to your sweet girl. Since I'm a FTM and haven't been through something like that yet, I don't know quite what I would say either, but I guess it would be something about how awesome she is, and just to ignore people who don't know that about her and treat her ugly. I hope she brushes it off and feels better soon!
Well she's already over it. Me.. I still want to kick that little fucker.
I probably would too! Or his parents more so.

I have decided to start my packing mission in the girls room. So the question is keep all the baby stuff incase we have a 3rd or give it away? CA to NC is a long way to move stuff.
I'm the complete opposite of a hoarder so the minute I stop using something, I give it away or get rid of it. However, we are done having kids!
DH is the hoarder. His parents both lived through the Great Depression so it's a deeply ingrained hoarding instinct. My dad is a hoarder too. I just don't want to be wasteful. 90% of my girls stuff is hand me downs, so it would be even stupider to buy all new stuff for the 3rd and final girl (since I'm am curse to have all girls).
I had an American Eskimo growing up. He was medium sized and GORGEOUS. But a little shit head. He was so smart and impossible to train. He loved to run if he got a chance and barked like crazy. He knew to listen but just was strong willed. With that being said he out up with 4 kids and never was bad or aggressive he was a great family dog and lived to be 15. Perfect dog example to grow up with!

Yeah the urge to kick the little bitch would be high. And if the mom said anything you could be all 'oh I didn't think you'd mind since you didn't say dick when your kid was doing it to my kid'.
I'm going to be a really mature parent
It took everything in me not to say something to the mom. She just sat there watching. Seriously?? So I yelled at her kid to stop being mean when he ran by. Fucker. Obviously I'm super mature too lol

Ugh, little jackass. I think mean kids just bring out the worst in moms. That's why when your kid gets bit or hit in school they never tell you which kid it is. When my daughter comes home and tells me another girl was talking about her or upset her in any way I'm like, "OH HELLLLL NO. You tell that little bitch to shut her goddamn mouth! She is ugly and her mom is a damned drunk ass skank." Except I don't actually SAY that out loud but deep down I'll cut a bitch, I don't care how old. Aaannnddd.....sorry I'm so sweary.
Can't figure out if A-game is crying so much because she thinks she's starving or if the rice cereal I'm giving her to try to help fill her up is making her tummy upset. She's basically hoovering my nips whenever I nurse her... x.x She'll be 5 months on the 8th and I'm giving serious consideration to starting food with her.

Dear mom:
Just because I've chosen to do BLW does not mean I am questioning YOUR parenting choices nor do you have to get SO defensive about it.
'Youre doing what? Well, *scoff* I spoon fed you and it was JUST FINE!'
Omfg YES I KNOW.
I did BLW with DS and explained it to my Mom like this:
"I don't have to buy special food, cook special food or puree anything and Chase will feed himself." Basically, I justified it as parenting while lazy.

DD outfits for dragon con. I made the first 3 and bought Snow White (clearance for $5, cheaper than making it)
So excited for her to wear them this weekend!!!
I'm really depressed that I've lived 5 hours from Atlanta for three years and never got to dragon*con.
First year it was work + DH's deployment, then work+pregnancy, then this year we are taking a trip to Charleston because we'll be in ATL the very NEXT weekend. Boo. I dn't think we'll ever be this close again.

I tried explaining that to her. She's convinced LO will sleep through the night if I start feeding him solids now.
A) If that worked, everyone would do it
BLW is just more convenient for everyone at this point and most importantly
C) MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS
I agree.
I'm sorry she thinks you are questioning her parenting skills. She has nothing to worry about. Clearly, you're awesome!

If you're trying to avoid screen time for your baby, do NOT, I repeat: DO NOT take them to Buffalo Wild Wings! There are tvs literally EV.ERY.WHERE. The last time I went to one was a couple years ago, and they had made 8-10 tvs? I've counted 24, and there are some I can't see. Twenty-freakin'-four! Ugh.

It is the one thing we make sure we do every year since we live here. Our staycation!! Even last year while pregnant Next year will be the hardest, since we be living in Florida and will have to travel here with DD.

I hate having that many screens around because I get so distracted I keep forgetting where I was in my conversation...
ETA: DD catching a few glimpses of my tv at home doesn't bother me. But if that many screens is too much for me as an adult, I feel like it would be waaay to much stimulation for a 4ish mo old.

Why does the PC bump take me all the way to the last post in here? There is no way I am going to skim over the last couple hundred posts to find out where I left off.
I am like 4k posts behind. I miss being active on this board. I think you ladies just rock my socks off with your coolness, wittiness, and down to earthiness.
I'm so glad I got out with Jack. I got the Naked 2 palette and some other goodies from Sephora, and... a new friend! I met the coolest woman in the Norstroms mom lounge with a six week old girl and we really hit it off. She was also getting herself birthday purchases (we're 3 days apart) and getting out of the house. Like me she lives in BFE- Ventura, which is relatively close, so we are going to get together with our babies again!

We tried rice cereal around 5 mos with DS1 because of his reflux, and he didn't tolerate it. He got so gassy, his stomach was hard and a little swollen. He got a bit constipated too. If that helps you figure it out! We only tried once - it was super obvious that it just made things worse right away.
ETA - wait, I might be lying! I think that was when we put it in his bottles younger. I think at this age he just wouldn't eat it. Or oatmeal. We just waited a few weeks and started with fruits and veggies.
It all blurs together - my poor little guy was such a mess until his reflux was managed.
I have stuff to look for now, at least, thank you! I think I may, possibly, be giving her a bit too much, though it's maybe a tablespoon and a half once it's mixed up. She keeps asking for it in her own way, though: looking at the bowl in my hand and doing her excited dance, leaning toward the spoon when I bring it toward her, etc. That doesn't bode well for her ability to restrain herself for BLW, if that's the case, lol. I'll try a smaller portion and see what she does with it.
In other news of the day, I'm gonna see if she'll let me put a few different outfits on her and do a little photo shoot to work on my photography "skills". Gotta have something to do since she's evidently not gonna freakin' nap! XD

DH really stepped in it this time. Made green beans for dinner, and he takes one bite and goes "Ugh, these are disgusting!" I told him his reaction was insulting, he apologized, and I told him his apology wasn't accepted. He was pretty shocked I said that and I don't think he has a clue why I was so mad. I don't expect him to like everything, but I do expect him to be polite and have some manners. Why did I marry a five year old?! ~X(
DS is constipated I think. He is straining and screaming intermittently. Idk what is wrong and how to fix it. I'm scared something is really wrong. No fever (if so it's really low), but he had a black (or very very dark green) stool earlier and the doctor said to monitor it. Plus, he's refusing the swaddle and waking up when he's in the zippy. Ugh. I feel like a bad mom.
So I have a freind who has been two busy to visit me for over a year. Last time I saw her I went to her sons 6th birthday party only a couple weeks after Ryver was born. She's too busy all the time to do anything with me ever. She just texted me asking to barrow my maternity scrubs. Too busy too see me but not to busy to barrow my expensive maternity scrubs? I'm tired of this one sided friendship.

No ma'am, I believe I do not need a chill pill! She was sleepy and had only slept for about 10 minutes on the way there. 45+ minutes of her just staring at the tvs is a good way to get an overstimulated, over tired baby. I surely did not want to deal with that kind of baby tonight, especially since she's started her sleep regression. Even if she wasn't tired, I still wouldn't be comfortable with her staring at a tv that long.

@ambarnett1 did the pedi okay prune or pear juice?
Yes, DS got pear juice in a bottle earlier and he went (when he had the dark stool) and he just got some during this bought of crying and straining. I hope it helps. He got his shots on monday and had a fever all day yesterday, so he got tylenol every 4 hours. I think it constipated him. I hope it's nothing worse than that.
First time in a long time that I'm home with dd by myself and I still managed to get us both packed up to go to the inlaws tomorrow, a load of laundry, cleaned up, and took the trash out. Suck it DH.
Also @knotty-girl -- kudos to you for putting yourself out there and Mama-Dating! I had a similar encounter in the Nordstrom nursing lounge when DD was little and I was too nervous to ask the other woman for her email address / if she'd like to meet up again. Mom Friends can be hard to find so you have to put yourself out there!

I don't understand places with that many TVs. If you absolutely need to watch something then get take out and stay at home. I don't watch sports but I'd rather do it in my pjs on my couch and not strain to hear it over 150 other people talking.
Our dishes are brown, orange, yellow, teal, and salmon (two of each color for each type of dish) and I always stack them from bottom to top in that color order for each type of dish. The different sizes are either stacked separately or with the smaller dishes on top of the larger ones. I can always tell when my husband has put the dishes away because I'll find a yellow dish on top of a teal one or (GOD FORBID) a smaller dish sandwiched between two larger dishes. Bless his heart for helping me with the housework, because I really do appreciate it, but my brain can never handle the disorder and I always end up arranging them back the way I like it.
I'm sure I sound absolutely bat-shit crazy to most of you, but I've gotta have some organization soul sisters out there somewhere.
ME me me!! I'm crazy. Everything in my life is organized in alphabetical order, by ROYGBIV, by number, or by style...if at all applicable. Spice drawer...alphabetical order by size of bottle. Closet...by using ROYGBIV, and then narrowing down style of shirt: t-shirt, sweater, tank, etc. Shoe closet...first by color then by style. I mean the list goes on really....I do this for everything. Ev-er-re-thinG!
Love me or hate me, but I'm organized!

Me either! I wanted ChickFilA or Texas Roadhouse, but my husband wanted BWW and said I could pick the next 3 places to eat out if we could eat there this time. So I took the deal. :P Wish I hadn't now, but oh well.
