Those who cloth diaper (who I feel like is everyone but right now can only think of @pineconey@ColleenSwerb@Rrrrrachel@Rogue237) I need help with detergent. I have an older (maybe 8-10 years) HE maytag front loader. What the hell should I use for detergent?? I was using non HE Detergent a while ago and had some issues and was scolded by the repair man to make sure I used he. Is this chart a good place to start??? https://www.diaperjungle.com/he-detergent-chart.html
I bought some bg 4.0, flips, thirsties covers, and prefolds.
I went to the liquor store and was all "Yeahhhhh gettin tipsy tonight!" I am finally home and LO is asleep and I just feel like eating ice cream and watching The Avengers. I can't decide if that's a fail or a win.
I totally understand where you are coming from! The ice cream is a win though.

Anything that calls for a stick of butter has to be amazing.
I was trying to catch up on RTT when I realized that I wasn't signed in. Did that and now I don't know where I was. Hugs and/or TP's to those who need them.

@AprilMay9 - I'm new to CDing, so this could backfire on me (read: take anything I say with a grain of salt), but so far the HE Tide Free liquid is working for me on my prefolds.
I think I was born in the wrong era. My MIL and FIL just got back from a rafting trip on the Colorado river. The shirt my MIL was wearing for most of the trip was badly stained by the red silt. She has spot treated it and put it through the laundry twice before declaring it a loss. I was able to get it looking brand new using bar laundry soap, a wash board and then a plunger washer in a bucket.

We met the neighbors across the street from our new house. They are our age and have a February baby. We had them over for dinner. Maybe I can have some non-work friends that live nearby? It's been a while since I've had that. [-O<

What is bar laundry soap!?! This sounds like magic!
It is exactly what it sounds like, laundry soap in bar form. There are two brands that I have tried, Fels Naptha and Zote. Both work great for stubborn stains. You can probably get Fels Naptha in the laundry isle at your grocery store.

My pregnant BFF and her husband were over tonight and we were talking about getting an IUD. I told her I was getting the copper one. She said she was too. Her husband perked up.
"They come in color options?"

@lia619 I hadn't heard of it until a couple of years ago. It is one of the ingredients in homemade laundry detergent.
The other stain remover I use is 2 parts hydrogen peroxide to 1 part dish soap. I keep it in a spray bottle. It has taken wine out of a white table cloth, oil stains out of my clothing, and blood out of DD's pants. It also works great on carpet stains.

The hydrogen peroxide and blue dawn dish soap has been my go-to for getting poop stains out of DS's clothes. I just dump a little of each on the stain. Mixing it in a spray bottle is a great idea!

2 mikes hard lemonades and a Jell-O shot- I'm not tipsy, I'm TIRED. Made a joke about how DS was going to end up getting sprayed in the face while I BF him tonight. Funny thing is, he gets that when I'm SOBER.

I stayed up late to hang out with DH and now it is 1:45 and I'm exhausted but I don't want to go to sleep because I know as soon as I do, LO will be up and wanting to eat. Hrmph.
Josie is such a girl! Finally found her hairbrush (lost it, have maybe brushed her hair twice in her life, both while sleeping) and started brushing her hair. She was in the middle of her nightly battle with gas, an screaming to high heaven. As soon as he felt the brush strokes she went limp and passed the heck out. Hair brushing. The way to a girl's heart, every time.

Amelia absolutely melts when I comb her hair! I don't blame her, I love it when DH plays with my hair now and I used to make my mom do it when I was little :-)

Can't wait until DD has enough hair for me to brush it.

So how soon is too soon to give this kid a hair cut? He's seriously in mullet territory...
I'm for real considering buzzing Fi. She has short very light blonde up top and longish brown in the bottom of the back. It's like someone failed at putting on a skullcap.
I've given Sullivan the baby buzz cut twice now with daddy's beard trimmer. First to remove the epic mullet, and then to remove the Homer Simpson stragglers on top when he was doing his balding thing. I give no fucks about baby curls.
@BiggerinRealLife I just brushed her hair. Her eyes were huge while I was doing it, so I wasn't sure she liked it, then she started fussing as soon as I stopped. Started brushing again and she immediately relaxed. Added bonus, her peach fuzz is perfectly aligned.

My friends came over and one of them grabbed Carter, so of course my flea bag took his spot so we didn't get lonely. "See? I fits! Where's MY bottle, momma?"
@P&B715 Where in TX? I have cool relatives with kiddos you could be friends with in The Dallas/Fort Worth area. Is that central enough? One teaches Stroller Strides and has two going on four kids. Another sells tasty buns at the farmers market. The last I forget what she does, but she has a daughter under one.
I want to be friends with your relatives!

DH told me he was trying an "experiment" and only fed DS 2oz at his night feeding. Uh ok, next time you're hungry and haven't eaten in 6 hours I'm only giving you 1/2 of a sandwich. Tell me how you like it.

Father's Day breakfast: Angel food cake french toast! With berry-maple syrup (thanks for inventing maple butter, Canada!). It is always a good choice to give presents that you can partake of, too.
Cool idea @mamrotu73. I never thought to use a blanket as the background. We have a bunch of handmade quilts from people I don't know how to use. Totally stealing that idea!
