@lia619 I would love a Moby wrap if it hasn't been claimed! I'm mobile but I can go on my laptop and PM you in a few :)

    @ColleenSwerb‌ - I vote elephants!

Ugh, I feel all shaky and can't decide if I'm hungry, thirsty, or overheated. Chugging water right now, hoping that helps...

@MrsStanton87‌ You're not admitting defeat. You're recognizing your limits and being a responsible parent AND employee. Don't be so hard on yourself! I consider it a win when I'm able to eat something that isn't a microwave dinner or a can of soup. I can't imagine how difficult it would be to work from home!

Seconded. I had grand plans of doing some sort of art self employed nonsense from home, and that shit went right out the window once kiddo actually got here. If I can't do it quietly on my phone while holding a baby on the couch, I can make no promises that it will get done. Single moms, SAHMs, and working from home moms (or any combination of the three), get a big fat Wayne's World "we're not worthy!" from me. This shit is hard.
  • Its the first night of Vacation Bible School at my church, I'm here helping with nursery and so far I'm only watching my own kids.... :-/

  • So those of us who work out/ run....I'm thinking of getting back to it while at the inlaws. I'm guessing I should pump before I head out so I don't leak? Any other special considerations?
  • A mere 3 beers at happy hour and I already fear I will regret this later. Just want to sleeeeep....
  • DH said he had to work late. I thought he meant 5:30.... It's after 7. :( DS has been insane all day. Mom needs a bottle of wine.

@BiggerinRealLife‌ don't have link cuz I'm mobile but I saved screen shots
This is the one my MIL uses to make them for me. She does blueberry, s'more, peanut butter, mint (even though supposedly mint isn't good for supply. I haven't noticed a difference)

    I'm addicted to these cookies

  • The rest of the day got better then worse. We got pre approved for a house, and got so excited and started house hunting.

Then we got home and DS decided to have his somewhat-colicky, gassy, screaming fit for an hour and a half. Man, I really hope this kid figures it out. I can't handle this every night!
    Congrats on the pre approval!

@BiggerinRealLife‌ they are $25 at BRU
  • @Mamamonzo‌ was there a link I missed?

@celticlullaby‌ Dude, I'll pay anything if it'll help her. I just thought all my lovely RTT ladies would have better deals. ;)

  • Hey everyone. After a fussy and strange week, DD has settled back to her old routine of being awake and dozing in the morning and having a good 2 hr sleep in the afternoon. I think we are through the 6-8 week leap! she even had an awesome sleep last night - from 8pm till 8pm with just the one MOTN feed at 1:30!!! was heaven!! But now I think she is coming down with a cold. Shes partly blocked up and getting fussy! sigh!

  • @mrsstanton87 I went back to working 50 hour weeks from home when DS1 was 6 weeks old. It was insane. I had the flexibility to get most things done during off hours, which was helpful since I could to get a lot done before he got up or after bedtime. I could only handle for a few months and ended up putting him in daycare because I felt like I was neglecting him by working while he was awake and wanting interaction.
  • Yikes. I hope your car ride gets better @aviola329‌!!
  • @BiggerinRealLife‌ @KatieGummow‌ posted it on Facebook a while ago. Not sure if it ever made it's way over here. But the recipe that got posted is the one I use

  • WWA14 do? I had a great massage therapist for a year starting in 2010. I ended up setting him up with one of my best friends. They dated for 3 years and I continued being a client throughout their relationship. He broke up with her a few months ago (nothing overly dramatic, just wasn't working out) and out of respect I stopped seeing him. I've tried several other massage therapists in my area but they all suck, I really want to go back to seeing him again! :( I don't know if it would be inappropriate or not. Thoughts?
    I'd see him again.
Its on a professional level . It's not like you're having nachos at happy hour with him . I think your friend would be mature enough to understand that you need his professional services.
    ----
I lost the list of addresses and names of attendees at my second baby shower that MIL gave me . Oops.

Only realized when I ordered the thank you cards this morning . I am forever doing shit like that. I'm sure its in my house just in some stupid place where I was sure at the time it would be safe.

Also I can't think of things to do during the day that involve leaving the house ( for short periods of time  , I am pumping and my dogs are home) that don't involve shopping . I love shopping but I shop a lot .

I would probably ask my friend about it first.
  • @BiggerinRealLife‌ : you can make any cookie recipe you want and add 2tbsp of brewers yeast. I got a recipe suggestion from @knotty-girl‌ and blogged about it: https://citrus-n-spice.blogspot.com/2014/04/oat-coco-peanut-choc-chip-cookies-aka.html?m=1
They are good but super "healthy" tasting. My SIL made me some awesome ones that were basically chocolate chip cookies with coconut and they were awesome!!!

  • I met with my boss yesterday and one of my previous clients has specifically requested me to work full-time on a project for the next year. I would love to work for this client because we get along really well and the project is awesome. The problem is that he told her I was coming back mid-August but she needs to have someone start at the beginning of July. I could work for a different client if I go back mid-August, but I'll likely be doing a lot more travelling over the next year and they are more difficult to work for. I'm so torn.
  • @xxlilies I have the same problem on days when it's just the two of us. When I have DS1 home, we do lots of free play date type stuff with other moms and kids, but I feel strange doing it with DS2 since he doesn't care much. Is the weather nice enough to do some outside stuff with LO? I like to go to the park or just go for a walk around our neighborhood.
  • So much respect for working moms and working moms who pump! I'm teaching vacation bible school right now and getting out of the house in the morning is a 2 hour adventure. Then I get a 25 minute break and I have to hurry up and pump before the kids are done with craft time.
    I'm exhausted!!

Anyone know of a good substitute for butter when baking? From everything I've read, coconut oil seems to be a pretty decent all around substitute, but doesn't that make everything taste like coconut?

Edit: I should have mentioned a good non-dairy substitue... Kinda makes a huge difference!

I've heard bananas work in lots of recipes. I'm allergic though, so I haven't tried it.
