So we have the green light for sex next week. I'm considering 'breaking myself in' with a dildo before having full on sex with DH. Just to take the edge off...
Thoughts? Has anyone else done this?
That's not a bad idea. I haven't been cleared yet but am nervous of it being all wonky and painful and who knows. I like your idea because then I could see how I feel/what I need and be more in control so it's less awkward and stressful.
I'd say let me know how it goes but uh...yeah...creeptastic 5000.

Haha how about I tell you if it helps? I'm just so nervous for it so it can't hurt, right?
Woo hoo, I'm a California resident again! Baby slept both flights and was a dream... Then was awake all afternoon/night when we got home. Whatever, I'll take it.
Sorry for being a lurker, but thanks for keeping me entertained all day and night. As a reward, I'll leave a pic of my little tubby baby we just got back the other day...
So I was getting some lightning pain when LO was latching on the left side yesterday evening, and as the night progressed, I was having super pains and a hard knot on the top of my left breast. By 2am, my entire side was on fire and I couldn't even stand to pick LO up. Around 3am, after feeding him (painfully) from that left side, I noticed a white dot on my nipple. Yep, Dr. Google confirmed plugged duct and milk blister (or bleb). Dr. Google also gave a list of things to do: warm compress, check, cold compress, check, expressing in hot shower, check, massage (ouch), check, and finally allowing LO to nurse as much as possible from that side to help relieve the plugged duct.
Hooray for LO! He nursed this morning one more time from Lefty, and no more hurts or hard knot! Although him relieving the pressure meant when he released the nipple I continued to spray him, my pants, my nursing bra, and his newly changed outfit in a stream the likes of which I've never seen...
Oh well. Talk about a symbiotic relationship. Proud of the little guy
I'm looking forward to "lunch" with a friend today at a local taphouse. They have wine slushies, which I've been waiting 9 months to try. Now to decide, red or white???
And I'll be bringing LO in the k'tan and dd too. Should be a good time!

After 2 nights of regression and waking up every hour and a half, LO slept 7 hours straight tonight!
I could sing from the rooftops! It's probably a one-off but I don't even care. It felt great to get that sleep and gives me hope that I won't be doing this for all eternity. Ahhh
Last night DH told me that he thought LO wasn't going to survive because of his NICU stay. He told me about how he cried in the shower at the hospital because he felt so helpless.
All the feels, guise. All the feels.
DH commented this morning that Aiden only seems happy when he's being held. I commented that's my biggest concern with daycare - they can't hold him all day like we can if we have to! It's starting to sink in that I have to go back to work in two weeks... 'Sniffle'
I take the night shift and let DH sleep through all the late changes and feedings, and he lets me nap through mornings.. This morning I wake up to a frustrated hubs trying to console an inconsolable 4wk old. He finally hands him to me, and within two minutes, this happens. I feel like the baby whisperer!

As much of a pain in the ass as it can be, sometimes its really freaking rewarding to be the mommy.
@Eireyes "" that's my biggest fear too and part of reason I chose a home daycare instead of a center. The one I chose currently only has kids in the afternoon and evening so Cora will be the only one there in the morning and she seemed excited to hold her all day long so hopefully it will be OK. I would still feel much better though if Cora could consistently be put down for more than fifteen minutes at a time.
I don't know what the deal is with the quotes but they won't go away.
@celticlullaby - Truth. So many CPS investigations are unfounded but it's still a pain in the butt for everyone involved. Gotta treat them all like there could be something bad going on so the kids who are actually being abused or neglected don't fall through the cracks.

DH just needs to perfect his "rock and squish" technique. My kid is so happy when I'm holding him too tight and moving!
SAMs club ftw today! They had pampers for $6 off. (I'm convinced they are why we've never had a blow out and if I can get them on sale DH will keep letting me buy them) and they had diaper genie refills on sale as well. The refills had a bonus mini diaper pail with them. I bought two so I can use one downstairs and one for cat liter!

We are so bummed people bought us anything but pampers now that we know better! The huggies blow out, and DH is convinced the kids skin is wetter in huggies.
I knew target had their own but I didn't know about amazon! I wouldn't have gotten the diaper genie ones if it wasn't for the bonus mini one that came with. It's seriously perfect for cat litter.

Try not to worry! Your baby will adjust to daycare. He'll get used to the noise and the new people. He may even like things there that he doesn't like at home. It will help him in the long run!

Trial 1 in my Getting Fi to Poop Experiment yielded results that suggest the hypothesis is plausible. On day three of no poop and one hour after giving 2.5 ounces from early freezer stash (from when she was two weeks old, so still decent colostrum content), we have poop. Not going to say, "IT WORKS!" just yet as she could have just finally been ready on her own, but plausible so far.
Damnit! Jealous that it worked for you! I have to dig through my stash to find weeks one and two!
@celticlullaby you might want to share this with your husband,. Unfortunately, the people at the hospital were wrong to tell him that the strap placement was correct. LO is in danger of serious injury if his straps are above his shoulders while rear facing. Your baby's safe should trump his pride.

DUDE! I totally second this. I'm like, "Hey she likes to be rocked or bounced on the exercise ball at night when she's fussy after eating." It looks like this: [Proceeds to go through AAAAAAALL the steps using one of the kittiez.]
I'm being really masochistic as a SAHM today and watching movies like The Lovely Bones and Prisoners. I really really hope hubster would go all Marky Mark/Wolverine on anyone's ass who even thinks about harming Mer.
We've never had a blowout because we only use pampers. I have enough nieces and nephews and baby sat and nannied for long enough before having this kid to not have had to find out through trial and error what brand works best. Plus pampers are WAY drier than you'd ever guess. I got some huggies AT&T shower and have yet to touch them. Plus they're like a size 4 so there's that.
My mom asked me what LO was sleeping in and I described the Rock N Play to her. She said "Oh, that's similar to what I did with you guys! You were in a bassinet-type thing and I set it on top of the dresser." What the fuck?! Glad we all survived! (Also - not similar, mom.)
I try to avoid finding out about the things my mom did when I was a baby at all costs. Then at the same time I want to know just in case so I can tell her NOT to do it if she's ever babysitting Dylan.
Heading out to find an outfit for DH and I first real date night tomorrow... Hopefully it ends in me finding something and not me ugly crying in a dressing room somewhere
September Siggy Challenge: What I Sing in the Shower: Little Mermaid "Part Of That World"
