Don't even get me started on the baby wars. 4 close friends all had babies one month apart-January to April. ALL THEY DO IS TALK ABOUT EACHOTHER.
'Jane says her baby was crawling but there's no way.' 'Alice told me her son said Papa but I've never seen him talk so I doubt that's what he meant to say.'
UGHHH shut the fuck up! Not to mention their kids are all geniuses because they showed some semblance of understanding to something (Little Peter dances every time he heard this song! He's SO SMART!) or my personal favourite-their kid is advanced because quote 'he's only 6 months old but he's already in 9 month old clothing.'
Yes. That happens...a lot. Calm yourself.
I don't get the clothes thing AT ALL. People talk like it's a sad thing that my DS is short and small. Um, guess what? I married a short-ish guy from an even shorter family. Turns out, my son might take after his dad and just be a small dude. It's really not a big deal that my 2.5 yr old can still wear some 18-mth sized clothes and is borderline "petite." My own mother talks like it's too bad that DS is short and I'm like, since when was height a persons' best asset?
Omg @dani+california, I can't stop laughing at the clothing size making them advanced. Or, they're just fat. Or tall. Or big. Wtf does that have to do with intelligence?!?! LOLOL!!
Exactly! I don't know. I just sit there and listen to this garbage and laugh to myself.
I'm so glad my baby is a year younger than all of theirs so it's not constantly being compared.
They may put even more pressure on your LO. Every week they'll probably be all "is your baby doing this yet? My kid was doing this by that age."
My hubby has the strangest ability to come follow me when I'm politely going somewhere away from him to fart and then complain about the stinkiness. To which I say "THEN STOP FOLLOWING ME!"
Mm, pregnancy. Lowering the bar for the win. I feel like human of the year tonight because I cooked dinner, washed all the dishes after dinner, the laundry is kept up and folded, AND I FLOSSED. Excuse me while I victory waddle up to bed.
Eta: dinner, btw, was a gourmet balanced meal of French toast and scrambled eggs.
My baby hasn't been born yet but I'm sure she's already rolling over. In fact, I'm 100% certain she rolls over quite frequently. She's so advanced. We're so proud.
Boo.... had to put away my wedding rings this evening. They've been getting tight for the last 3-4 days and I've been noticing a bit of swelling in my hands and feet. Could hardly get them off this evening. Almost made it!
Ok ladies, Im not worried, but worried.
I just had a fall (maybe 5 mins ago) where I landed on my right side, fell down 2 steps onto our deck. Landed pretty hard. Bit sore but ok.
No movement from LO. Ive had some OJ and am laying on my side. I told DH I'll give her 30 mins and if no movement Im calling the MW.
Good plan?
Oh no! I hope everythings ok. If it makes you feel better my doctor told me later in pregnancy you have to take a really (like really) hard hit for it to hurt the baby. There have been a lot of women (on here even) that fell flat on their stomachs and were ok.
If anything, you'll just induce labor right?

So I've had maybe a couple of really small squirms so far (like was that a movement or just my breathing) but not enough to say its anything. I've just been in touch with my MW who is on her way back from being out of town. Due back in town in about 40 mins. Ill give it another 20 and if no change we will drive into the hospital to meet her.

Just had a couple of bigger definite movements. She has had a quiet day today anyway so these movements are a bit more normal for a quiet day. My MW is going to call when she gets into town - may go in if she suggests it just for piece of mind.
Scary stuff! My logical mind was saying that everything will be ok, and the chances of any damage are virtually none, but my hormonal baby mind after about 15 minutes started to freak out.
Still is at how quiet her movements are but I'm going to try listen to the logical mind more than the freak out mind!
Thanks for being so supportive ladies!!!

I've been doing a lot of lurking and the shit talking of A14 is going off all over other BMBs. Dont say her name, thus summon the minions.
I came across this and found it amusing though:
Taking a quick break from L&D stories for a moment... I was browsing a few other BMB boards, and several have "longest thread ever" stuff. April '14 is 1158 PAGES Yeah. Crazy. I'm totally okay with this being ours, and @nkhead can get notified 30,000 times (if we keep up with April, of course).
Got home from work today, unloaded and reloaded the dishwasher, did a load of laundry, pre-treated some carpet pet stains, shampooed the carpet in the baby's room and scrubbed and oiled the kitchen cabinets. Holy nesting Batman!

Watch out with the carpet cleaning! That's what put @mamamonzo into labor ;-)

I was just joking around with DH about the fall - saying things like "I've always told you babies were made to bounce" (my way of dealing with stress - to make really bad jokes)
He told me it reminded him of that blimp that went down in a fiery ball...
He compared me to the Hindenburg!!!

Went to L&D Sat. night, hooked up to monitor and was having contractions every 3-5min for 2 hours (plus every 5-7min for almost 24hrs before we came in). I got sent home b/c I didn't progress from a 3 during the 2hrs. Contractions dropped down to every 6-8min yesterday and completely gone today. What the heck?!
Now I have no clue when to go back in either. You would kind of think 3-5 min contractions would be a telling sign.
Ok, minor dilema. I'm due wednesday.... induction date is set for the 17th just in case. DH goes in for surgery on the 21st... We've been waiting over a year for this surgery for him and we really don't want to cancel because if we have to wait much longer then his ability to do his job could be affected. Do you guys think it's ridiculous for me to ask for an earlier induction date so that I've had a chance to get home from the hospital and get at least a week in at home before DH goes in for his procedure?

I see my OB on Wednesday.
I would talk to your OB and explain the whole situation and see what they say. Hopefully they will be open and understanding with your situation and be able to be accommodating on the scheduled induction as long as they feel that it's something that can be done safely without posing harm to your LO!
