@colleenswerb, I also liked the name Eliza for a girl, but DH vetoed because he thought it sounded like an old lady name. I love it though!

Yeah, that's my thought but DH thinks it sounds awkward. Now I think the "oh" in Owen sounds strange with SchrOHder. I think I'm just getting cold feet. I mean, I don't really say my fn and ln together all that often anyways. 

See, I don't know, maybe it has to do with regional accent or something but even though both of those "O"s have the same long O sound to me they come off differently. The "OH" in "Owen" sounds much more "brief" than the "OH" in Schroeder. I think it has something to do with the accent being on the "O" in Owen and then it flows directly into the "w". It's like you're starting the "wen" sound before you ever finish the "Oh" sound. The "OH" in Schroeder sounds a little more drawn out. It's hard to explain, but it's not perfect assonance to me. 

I tend to get really bothered by awkward name flow, but even knowing your last name none of your full name choices set off any alarms to me.

That would involve getting up from the floor. I think you're just going to have to learn to fall asleep sitting on the toilet.

I miss DH I'm excited to head to Milwaukee tomorrow to see my sister's twins (they turn 1 in April) but I miss snuggling and falling asleep to DH rubbing my poor back. And I am loathing the idea of having to be on a train for six hours to get back home on Sunday. Pregnancy sucks sometimes!

@fireflygirl12 I vote Owen.  In college there was a frat guy we were all friends with named Miles, and everyone called him BDA for "Big Dumb Animal" because he was super tall and big and extra dumb.  Obviously not going to be the case with your child, but if you needed a vote one way or another, I choose Owen first only because of that association (which nobody you know will have).

My poor Aunt fell down today and broke her leg in 3 places! She needs to have surgery to have pins put in her Femur! The poor thing! My mother and her were leaving for a much deserved winter escape to Arizona on Tues and now they can't go. Now my Aunt feels awful that she "ruined" their vacation. Poor thing is going to be in a wheelchair and need months of physical therapy to recover. I just feel awful for her, breaking any bones at her age is no small thing, let alone how severe this one seems to be! Oy Vey! Poor ladies just can't catch a break!

MIL commented that she gained 40lbs each time she was pregnant. The way she said it made it sound like this was the most mortifying thing ever. I almost punched her, then remembered she's taking me shopping in the next few weeks to buy ALL THE THINGS this baby still needs.

Like PP said, everyone is different. With my c-section I would say that getting up out of bed and things of that nature were painful for about a week and then gradually got better after that.

I reach around behind me, under my butt, and wipe from front to back that way. I don't have to deal with my belly at all. Winning!

Eliza and Eleanor are our too two names, and we cannot decide. I wasn't crazy about Eliza at first, but it has grown on me. I don't know what middle name we are using either. This naming thing is hard!

Also, I wipe from behind, front to back, always have, but it is starting to feel like acrobatics to bend that way anymore

OMG ok, so I am not the only one who wipes back to front??? I seriously though I was the only one who did this, it was like my secret shame - I cant reach behind, its too uncomfortable! And yes, I am not more of a side swiper... 

My random thing for the day is DH and I just went fishing off the beach - enven though I was incredibly tired, and have a massive headache. We caught 4 fish, all under size but really enjoyed it, got to see a beautiful sunset, and then I went for a swim - the water was so warm!

There are times when I feel like I'm on a permanent holiday here!

@avidkeo I LOVE the NZ accent. The way you guys pronounce your short E's ("sEEven" for 7, tEEn" for 10, etc), and other super cute variations of what would otherwise be mistaken for an Aussie accent, make the kiwi accent far superior.

I bet it's the cutest damn thing ever when you talk.

@snmetz7 I'm with ya! It's only 245am here and I have to be up at 8am to get ready for a 930am job interview...but I'm not sleepy yet! I never had sleep problems like this when pregnant the first time 'round. UGH.

Thank you! It's one that I would totally want! The pay at this company is outrageous, and the benefits I hear are damn good... My fingers and toes are totally crossed that this works out, so I can tell the job I already have waiting but don't really want "thanks but no thanks".

The cat finally managed to follow through on puking after waking me up with the puke noise at 2:30am. Little jerk hit the carpet and the bathroom rug, and had to cross easily cleanable tile to get both those spots! DH earned mega brownie points though, because he woke up and took care of it all so I didn't have to try and get out of bed or bend over to clean it.

Good thing my DH watches the news in the morning - apparently there were three explosions in underground power vaults downtown today, and my office has no power and is closed. To add to the irony I work for the power company... I could have slept in!

On the plus side, now I can drive to MI for my baby shower earlier today! Hooray impromptu long weekend!

I am at the train station waiting for my train home to CT for my shower this weekend. A group of about 30 noisy pre-teens just parked it right next to me and I wanted to TP all of them. Then it hit me that one day I will have a little teeny bopper of my own! **sniff** Now I want to hug them all!
