I'm making a chocolate cake today, too.  Must be the day for it!  Mine isn't for here, though, so I won't actually get to eat any of it.  Even with GD, I've been able to have a few bites of desserts here and there, if I plan it well.  That'll probably change in a few weeks!  Maybe I should make two cakes today.  lol

@mrssstanton87 that is so horrible.  Hopefully they find the Mom and Boyfriend and find out what happened.  T&P's to your Mom's friend, I can't imagine what she is going through right now.  Rest in peace little girl.

My friend asked me last night what we are naming DD2. When I told her she looked at me and said "That was my girl name!" She isn't pregnant and is getting married in September so who knows how long it will be until they decide to have kids. Well we laughed but, 5 min later she goes "I can't believe you stole my girl name." She laughed again and I just ignored her. I was so annoyed that she kept bringing it up. I've never once heard her say anything about the name and she has in the past, when I brought a boy name up, said the same thing. Needless to say I'm using my girl name and she can shove it.

So I was at the grocery store today and in the checkout lane in front of me was a little boy 4 or 5 helping his mom unload the cart and I just started ugly crying thinking how precious it was and how that would be me someday soonish. Damn pregnancy hormones

Almost Famous is my absolute favorite movie and he was fantastic in it. He was a great actor and it's so sad that this happened...

I understand your concern. I've been trying to figure out how to respond. You have put a lot of restrictions on Jacob that really alters how I can run my daycare. I can't just order pizza or swing by Mcdonalds for a special treat for the kids. It seems like there's something every month that comes up that you don't like and we have to "hash" it out via text. Further, Jacob is very challenging sometimes. I had to literally drag him for a block while we walked to school the other day. He was throwing a fit because he wanted to go back to my house to get an acorn. He was yelling and screaming at me in the middle of my neighborhood. :-/ Lol. Jacob is the only one with major restrictions and also the only one with food and chronic behavior issues. Perhaps it's all connected? Of course, we all want to provide the best care for Jacob and I will strive for that. :-) I just cannot promise that I won't watch the news or any adult program ever when Jacob is here. However, we won't watch Dexter anymore. :-)

This lady has no leg to stand on if she is letting the kids watch Dexter at all, for fuck's sake. Call licensing and get
a new daycare.

Eta: I am still seething over "I can't promise there won't be adult programming on when your child is in my care." Um. Pretty sure anyone being paid to have a child in their care should reasonably be able to promise that there will never be adult programming on the tv!! Wtf!

Tonight, at a soup place, we were in line behind this mother and daughter. Mother had MAJORLY bad lip implants. The Grandmother comes in behind us. Starts complaining about the line. Then, asks me where I'm from in English. Eye roll. So, I say I'm from America but live here. Then, she gives DH the side eye. 

Two seconds later the little girl asks me in Icelandic, "Are you having a baby?" And JUST as I'm saying "yes" grandmother chimes in...

Nei elskan, hún er frá bandarikjunum. Hún er bara feitur.

Translation: No honey, she is from America. She is just fat. 

I turned to the little girl and said in Icelandic

"I'm having a baby in April."

Then I turned to DH and called her something nasty in Danish, knowing full well she would understand (but sparing the little girl from hearing me call her grandmother a bitch.)

WTH?!

Report her to your local licensing agency. Not kidding. I know my state is stricter than most, but fast food is a pretty big no-no in early childhood care- so is tv. It actually borders on abuse based on what she's letting them watch. Document EVERYTHING!!!

I keep going back and forth on wanting to do the 3D ultrasound since this is my first. I know a lot of people find them creepy but I was barely able to see much at my a/s and got REALLY crappy take home pictures. But $250? I could buy a swing and an activity mat and diapers!

@fourthnlast did I read somewhere that you have to do the 24 hour urine tests before every appointment? I only have to do it today, and it's making me crazy with how much thought I have to give to what I drink and when I pee! I don't know how you do it!

.....he's dead? Oh no. He's been my all-time favorite actor since I knew enough about acting to recognize what good was. He's the measure by which I judge people's taste to see if they even know who he is. Okay, ugly crying now. DH thinks I'm insane I'm sure.
