  • @3crazykitties‌ I'm so sorry. I hope they find your cousin or that he contacts you guys soon.

Caroline doesn't have very many gifts either, but now that she's crawling and all over the place, I feel like I should get more! Guess I'll wait to see what she gets from the grandparents.
  • @3crazykitties I hope you find your nephew soon.  I can only imagine how hard it is for you, not knowing how he is.

So, I picked up breakfast on my way to work this morning, about an hour ago.  I just looked all around my work space for my breakfast.  I've already eaten it.

DD is getting the Zany Zoo from Santa.  I our house, gifts from Santa are unwrapped and set up.  No need for me to wrap the Zany Zoo!

  • My LO has very few gifts. A tool bench and train, new booties, clothes, socks, a few cars and trucks. He has everything from dd so he doesn't need much.
DD, on the other hand, is getting every gd princess thing under the sun.

  • @3crazykitties‌ thinking of you.

DS is getting a few things that we got as baby gifts before he was born and a couple toys that I let him pick out at BRU and then hid. I can only imagine the mountain of toys he's getting from family. He likes boxes better, anyway.
  • So are you Yanks going to be able to travel to Cuba soon? What's this I'm hearing on an end to the embargo? I love Cuba, let's all meet there! Haha
Looks like the White House may lift some of the restraints, but it will take Congress to lift the restrictions completely.  Until they can do that, it will be limited to specific types of travel (Family visits, U.S. Gov't travel, Journalism, Professional Research or Meetings, Performances, Humanitarian Work or Religious Work).  So if we meet, there, we will need to have an excuse!

  • Been 50 years since the Cuban missile crisis. Time to get over it guys. Although it was nice to not have any obnoxious Americans when we go there on vacation :P

  • FFWC: I wish I could make people cry. Not for the fun of it, but just people who really need to be knocked down a peg or two. Is that awful of me? ;;)
Become a teacher :). Seriously, some years I would make kids cry daily. Not that I was super mean, just that when kids realize they screw up and you call them on it, tears almost always ensue. There is a certain satisfaction when a you make a kid cry after they've been a complete jerk, since that *hopefully* means they regret their decision and will do better.

@3crazykitties - so sorry they haven't found him yet. If he's with older, more streetwise kids, they may know now to keep out of sight, which is why he hasn't been found yet. Sending positive thoughts that he's just laying low and will be found soon.

  • And present wise, we bought a decent amount - ride on toy, small climbing gym, blocks, two books and a toy tote for storage. But, the ride on toy and climbing gym were both on the recommendation of his physical therapist, and he really needs toy storage for his bedroom, so I figure it's not too indulgent. I have no idea what he's getting from grandparents/aunts/uncles, so he may be getting a lot of stuff, but as of now we have almost no age appropriate toys for him and little boy is bored, so I'm really looking forward to getting new things.

  • OMG I just found an old VHS copy of Dot and the Kangaroo. Did anyone else watch this movie as a child?!

    I've never heard of this.

Lol. Our recent trip to Jamaica was the first and only time Americans outnumbered Canadians/other nationalities on our travels! We couldn't believe how many Americans were there. So many accents, so much football watching. Met a really nice couple from Ohio who were doctors married in APRIL who only got time off now to go on their honeymoon. Crazy!
Funny enough my sister and BIL were in Jamaica last week too.
  • I have 2 good UOs for tomorrow! Y'all don't let me forget. One could potentially be...... controversial and/or drama-inducing? Or maybe it'll be a big flop. Who knows!

  • Operation transfer Dylan to his own sleep quarters is not going so well. I think he wants to turn over but can't because the pack and play doesn't have enough room. I'm not ready to move him to the nursery yet :((

We love you! What do they do if we do some bullshit while you and @WifeofaComposer‌ are MIA?
    Plotting something? >:)
    Maybe
  • @Ooopsbaby14‌, he keeps getting them. This is his 4th one in 6 weeks and it's gotten big! It doesn't seem to bug him and he doesn't rub it, but it's taking its sweet time to go away. I've called the doctor and seen them too, but at this point, I don't think there's much they can do. @eme suggested it was a chalazion, but treatment is the same as for a stye.

  • DS sleep crawls. Almost every night he crawls into the side of the crib and hits his head. It is exhausting for everyone.

I noticed Dylan doing the same thing last night
  • How early should I get to the airport.  On one hand, I want to leave plenty of time because I have LO by myself, but on the other hand... I have LO by myself and the less time spent waiting to board the better...

I always get there really early, like a hour and half early. Once with DH and DS1 we got there really close to leaving time and it was awful trying to hurry through the airport. I like to do it leisurely, get a snack, use the restroom and do one last diaper change beforehand. I also take my stroller and check it at the gate, so that makes the early thing easier because we just stroll the airport. Also, you can request for whoever is taking you to the airport to go past security to help you. They always let my dad or DH go with me to help me get through security.

Hah, no one is taking me to the airport!  I thought an hour and a half would be good but DH seems to think I should get there two hours early.  It's also a two hour drive to the airport!  Then I'll have to park and get a shuttle... so maybe two is better.  Hello early morning!
