Hooray for PF! Thoughts and prayers to sick mamas and sick babies, and also to your family @3crazykitties
Thank you, Dani, and the other responders for speaking sanity into my life. DH is the one who has to pay the consequences for his actions, not me! I was just a little worried that he'd just sleep and let dd cry, either not hearing her or not paying attention, but all is well.
Thanks also to you moms who helped calm me about belly sleeping. Rationally I know she's okay, but I just can't turn off the panic!
michaelad3 I'd say it took me at least 2 weeks to stop obsessing. Once I realized he slept so much better on his stomach, I actually wanted him to flip himself over. I have a video monitor and can just barely make out breathing, though, and still do check on him whenever I'm awake and he's sleeping.
@3crazykitties - sending many positive thoughts that they find him!
@maitaibeth what exciting news! I'm sure you're more than good based on what your doctor said, but that back extension thing is a huge thing we've been working on in PT with Evan, so if you wanted any more exercises, I'd be happy to pass along what we've done that has helped.
Decided Evan was healthy enough after his cold to do a bit of CIO last night. I wish he could just learn how to sleep - whenever we have to stop CIO due to teething/sickness, he's up every hour and only eating will calm him down. And with teeth/sickness popping up constantly, we are failing. Somehow we've created a bit of a monster despite reading all those books and *thinking* I was doing everything right when he was little. He handled every 3 hours pretty well last night and honestly, if he can just stick with that through the holidays , I'll be thrilled.

If a stranger is coming to your home for dinner, is serving fish a no-no? I know there are a fair number out there who don't eat fish...
I personally would be upset if I was invited over and fish was being served. I would probably then feel like I was being ungrateful and not say anything though. lol Usually when being invited over, we're asked if there's anything we don't like.
Yeah, this is a last-minute thing where DH last night was like "Hey can I bring this guy who is visiting work from somewhere else over for dinner." I told him to find out if the guy eats fish or not but they're super busy at work today so the odds of him remembering and then remembering to tell me are pretty much non-existent.
I think I'll make the chowder I was planning on, but have a backup.
Sorry, I didn't mean to make that sound like you were a terrible hostess for not asking beforehand or something. :-S I think making a back-up is a good plan!

Am I the only fucking idiot that didn't know christmas light contain lead?!?!?!
I wonder if this had anything to do with @thomas930's post that she shared on FB yesterday about how when you have an infant you have nothing on your tree because of dangerous decoration stuff.

I mean, probably nothing bad will happen, folks. Just try not to let them eat the lights in the future and wash them good with cold water if they handle the light strands. And don't beat yourselves up - it's like how everything you eat can give you cancer if you read the internets. Everything can harm your baby foreverz. Except probably not really.
What fantasy island do these food network chefs live on? "It cost $5 for the chicken curry! It has 2 chickens in it!" No it didn't and no it doesn't. I can't even buy one GMO laden chicken for less than $7 here, forget a chicken you might actually want to eat!

Really? Uncooked walmart chickens are $5 here, surely they're cheaper in the US! Like $0.50? Haha
I wish. We went to my aunts house this weekend to have a Xmas dinner with grandma. Well I forgot the cheesecake at home so we went to Ralph's to get a tub of ice cream. Dryer's ice cream was $2 more a tub there than here!
I cross posted this bu now I'm wondering if I'm being a hormonal ragey bitch.
I am so annoyed with DH. This is the 2nd time in a month that he has had a baby free day. At thanksgiving he had the runs. He's dying and terribly sick if he has diarrhea. It's NBD to me because I have IBD, but I let him sleep in bed ALL FUCKING DAY thanksgiving weekend. And we got into a fight because I didn't check on him to make sure he was ok. :-w
So last week LO had a cold and gave it to me. I never took off of work because of the stupid cold.
DH just came down with the same cold. It gave DH a bloody nose so he runs to the dr. who gave him all kinds of medicine. So he's all, see how sick I am and I"m all :-@
But today I am annoyed because if I have to call off sick I don't send LO to the sitter, because I would still have to pump and why pay money if we don't have to. But DH woke up at 4am and is all I'm too tired to properly care for our baby and sent LO to the sitter.
Sorry I brought my DH rant here. I think I'm the one with the problem because I've been obsessed with my annoyance all day. And I feel bad for jumping on the DH hate train. I know we try to not do that here. I didn't mean to do that. He's a great dad.
@aronie82 my DH takes the kids to daycare whenever he has a day off and could spend time with them. I never do unless I have appts or something, which is rare. It drives me nuts. I'd be annoyed at your DH as well.

BF moms: I've been hearing from people that Life cereal can help increase milk supply (due to the oats in it). In case you're looking for something to eat besides oatmeal every day (like I am!).

I can't believe I'm just about 13 weeks pregnant. DH just asked what fruit baby is this week and about shit his pants when I told him plum, it seemed like it took forever to get past the berry stage with DD. This pregnancy is flying by.
DH and I were just talking about how crazy it is that this pregnancy is almost half way done. Flies by when you have another LO to take care of!
Hai guys, took a few days off from the interweb for a mental health break. Missed you all.
@lokimau and @mrsw26 so sorry for your loss. I'm right there with you and it's horrible. We're just waiting for the last day and it's just sad and exhausting.
Poor LO cut her first two bottom teeth (freaking finally! She's an end of March baby!!!) and has a gnarly cough. Sooooo super fun. Holy cannoli, I couldn't get anything done because she needed constant snuggles and attention. Normally, that's all well and good but my house is a horror show. I just want a cleaning lady. And a cook. And a driver. Is that too much to ask for?!
3rd night in a row of DD2 having hives. Only happens at night, they are gone in the morning. Hopefully she's good for my parents as this is night 1/3 at work. The last few nights have been rough with her not sleeping.
I told DH that we will be having a talk about his use of the snooze button when he gets home tonight. First the baby was using a "snooze button" from 1:30 to 4:30, then DH's alarm started going off at 5:30... for a fricking hour. And then he woke the baby up for good when he left - kind of unavoidable the way the house is set up, but it was just the last straw this morning. :-w
DD has a Christmas concert at preschool today. I am SO excited!!!! She's been practicing her songs for months now. I'm sure she'll do great, and I can't wait to see them all!

I'm totally over wrapping gifts. After thinking up What to buy, finding and buying them and now finally wrapping them I'm slowly losing The Spirit.
I got A a walker push toy. I stupidly assembled it before wrapping. So it is a giant L shaped gift that took two boxes and multiple sheets of paper.
Wrapping that damned Zany Zoo was a nightmare, but I'm rather pleased with how it cam out. Wrapped the box it came in with one sheet (not including the top) and wrapped another half cardboard box to put over the wires and stuff. Getting it to MI from OH is going to be a pain in the ass though.
It's now officially been 48 hours since my nephew ran away. Last night's lead got us nowhere. I am really scared something terrible is going to/has happened. My nephew is only 14 and is with older kids who are known drug users. DH is acting like it's NBD because DH did the same things. Those "same things" ended up with his friends in the hospital for ODing. Deputy mom is just as bad talking about the last runaway she worked ended up finding the boy hanging in the woods. She is also making excuses for the lack of response from the sheriff's office. I know alot of it is speculation but when all your doing is waiting for an update it is hard not to.

Our first one today too! 4 and 5 year olds singing I want a hippopotamus for Christmas, I'm very excited.
Am I the only one who bought almost nothing for their child for Christmas? He's getting a book. I am the lamest of moms. I should add socks too just to round out the lameness.
We have almost nothing for DD, 2 homemade gifts a lovey and a book. We have to get some because of a 4 year old and santa clause but they really won't give a rats ass.

You and me both. I'm thinking of just letting him open up a pack of brand new onesies that's just sitting in his room. I may get him something at the last minute but he really doesn't t know what's happening.

Yep, same boat here. My six year old nephew and four year old niece will cry foul if their baby sister or Aiden don't get a few things from Santa and mom and dad. That and we realized we had zero age appropriate toys... dog toys are age appropriate right?
I was going to just wrap us some toys we already had so that LO had something under the tree. But I felt guilty since DD1 was getting a bunch of presents so we went and bought a few things.
I bought LO some gifts. I sometimes think that makes me lame. He is way too young to understand or even care. My DH also thinks it's silly. DH was gone last Christmas and will be gone next Christmas, so I got overly excited this year.
Ditto on hardly any baby gifts. We have an arrangement that parents pick up their kids gift for Christmas with the inlaws ( we just won't give quite as much $ to SILs for the nephews and neices) so he's getting a $20 Costco car carpet, a $3 book from Winners and a wooden puzzle from a set of three that's been lying around his room for months.
At home he'll get the other two puzzles, another $3 book and some stocking stuffers of small things or things he needed anyways (sippy cup, $.70 book, toothbrush yhe clinic gave us and the oball car). And a carseat.
Everyone else is going to overwhelm him with toys anyways.
G is getting a lot of presents to share with DS1. They are getting a play kitchen from Santa, he's getting some Disney movies that he won't care about for a long time but DS1 will love. He's also getting sippy cups, cloth diapers and a few toys. When DS1 was this age, I got him one little people toy for Christmas, however DS1 is just starting Santa age now so I have to keep it equal
Re: Longest Thread EVER! (aka Random Thoughts Thread )
I hate when I post something I'm excited about before seeing something more important. Makes me look like a narcissist

I think DS got a bloody nose today but I have no idea how. I just noticed some dried blood inside his nostril. Should I worry?
