I've used my FSA for HPTs, but never thought about it for OPKs. Good tip. Since I was pregnant and expecting  to have a baby in 2016 during enrollment,  I maxed out my FSA this year (I think $2500 is the max federal limit). I ended up using most of it to pay for acupuncture this year before I switched to community acupuncture. I also use it to pay for massages. Years ago, I had my PCP give me a Drs note saying that I needed monthly massages to help prevent my migraines. I wonder if there are any OB-Gyns that would grant a similar note for women TTCAL dealing with stress. It's at least worth a try if it's something you want.

I know my PCP will write a letter of medical necessity for almost anything. She wrote me one for yoga classes for stress and blood pressure. I had a chiropractor write me one pillows before. I still have about $1700 to burn this year, so massages in Colorado Springs for sure, and well stocked on OPK and HPTs. DH is going for a consult for Lasik. Hopefully I won't be in a lose situation.

Just remembered it was October! I had posted this today in Sept. WTO.

Man I haven't been on here in two weeks! It has been a crazy time. Today is cd 12 and so far not sign of O. Went to the RE the past to Mondays and found out that the tubes all are clean and that I have PCOS. Started a low carb diet and I am craving anything sweet and donuts! All my blood work came back good and we are waiting on DH analysis to come back. We have an appointment next Thursday to determine the best course of action. Kind of nervous, but I figured might as well try like normal till we can start new next cycle with the plan.

CD 9, haven't really been on the boards lately due to anxiety and depression. Just haven't been handling this TTC journey very well I guess. I have my moments of hope and optimism, but for the most part they have faded away, so it's hard to talk about it. I did however, set up an Instagram for this journey, I've been finding it cathartic to connect in that way with the TTC Community online. My username is the same as on here if you have a TTC account and want to add me. :)

@CTRMommyof4 I just added you! The ups and downs of this journey take a toll on us emotionally. I'm glad that starting an IG is another way to help you.  <3

AFM- CD 15 and a positive OPK on a Wondfo this morning. I usually never get one with FMU, so it will be interesting to see if it still looks the same this evening. Can't HIO till after DH gets home tonight which is technically Friday, so hopefully the timings ok.

@CTRMommyof4 I'm so sorry you're going through this. I understand how you feel about your hope and optimism fading. I find myself going through that as well. Im glad your back and remember we are all here for you.

@fivetimesnoluckeverything is crossed for you this cycle! GL!

@chloe97 I remember having discharge after my saline sono a year ago. I hear you on your OPK. Like you, I ovulate later and getting a smiley on CD 11 seems very early. I'd be curious what the reading are in a few days.

I go here now. CD 2 for me so j have a ways to go. I called yesterday  to schedule my saline u/s to make sure I don't have scar tissue since I was having issues with my lining  on my last 2 medicated cycles  and according to the scheduling nurse there are no appointments available for now and she suggested I go on birth control to give me more scheduling options since they need to do the saline u/s before ovulation. WTF?? I said no way- she suggested I call back Friday to see if anything opens up. I was so frustrated and upset yesterday. I just want to know if I'm ok so I can either move on or figure out if I need yet another procedure. We' re on our anniversary trip so even though AF is in full force I'm trying to just relax and enjoy the time with DH.

ETA: good luck @Cmckenzie glad you guys are getting the ball rolling on next steps.

Omg @roxgibbons That is so frustrating! I would pitch a fit if I were you. Is there another Dr that could do the procedure??? My lining has been thin but based on the Saline sonogram there is no scarring. My period was a lot heavier last month than this month. Dr says that it's probably low-estrogen related, but she wasn't concerned about it preventing implantation. She said something about "the pattern of the lining" being most important?

AFM the spotting seems to have died down. It went on much longer than my HSG spotting, but maybe I only noticed because we are actually trying this month. Of course, I started worrying that my uterus got infected and I'm feeling weird ute sensations now. I'm sure it's just my hypochondria. No signs of O at CD 13, but H and I have a 7 day plan to HIO every day except Saturday when he's out of town. I'm hoping we catch it in there somewhere!
  • Options
Ugh!! H and I are supposed to drive 2.5 hours away tomorrow morning for our IUI, but there's this massive f'n hurricane on the way here. So, we are trying to figure out what to do. We are under mandatory evacuation but if we didn't have the IUI, I would not be leaving. My big dilemma is whether we will be able to get back home - we can take back roads, but who drives into a hurricane?? I tried to book a hotel room in Augusta and they were already sold out yesterday afternoon plus we have three dogs and a cat to figure out too. We may just pick up the dogs and take them with us and pack for a few days in case we can't get back. Y'all say a prayer or send some good vibes out for us, please.

I guess if the IUI takes and it's a boy, we could name him Matthew! Haha!

I know @brooklyngirl18 had to evacuate Charleston on vacation. Is anyone else from the boards going to be affected?? I hope everyone stays safe!

@NewMommyCoop unfortunately, I waited too long. Because of how large the evacuation area is, hotels are sold out throughout the region. I have a brother who lives in Atlanta and some dear friends who are going to a small town west of here where their parents live, so we do have a couple of options. It just sucks because I don't want to leave the dogs here (and have someone else look after them) but taking them with us presents some challenges.

Hello everyone! I'm new to this group, so I'll introduce myself! I'm Jess and we just started TTC.  We got married a month ago. I experienced a loss in my previous relationship (3 years ago).  So my new hubby and I are ready to start trying.  I just removed my bc and I'm trying to figure out my cycle after having Mirena for a while.

By my account, I am CD3 currently. I am hoping that I will ovulate this month, but we'll see!

Howdy everyone.. Similar to @CTRMommyof4 - I've been absent from this board and absorbed in my own depression and anxiety.. Sucks. I'm on CD2 of my 4th cycle trying after our loss and I'm all over the place emotionally. I'm mad that my last two pregnancies were so easy. I'm frustrated by how much I want another pregnancy but its not working. I feel broken, very broken and I'm frustrated that I have to try 3 more times before talking to my OB again...
Last month I had an 18 day cycle - started bleeding 7 days after ovulation. My OB thinks I maybe had a chemical pregnancy of sorts - that baby tried to implant but didn't and it triggered an early period. I'm not sure I buy that theory, but whatever. I'm trying to do lots of positive talk/affirmations lately but I'm over it. Everything has been so hard for us this year, so hard. (FIL has been in and out of hospital in the last month, but we think he's on the road to recovery for now)

CD15 and I have actual EWCM and a darkening OPK and DH is OOT! I never ever get EWCM. In fact, yesterday I was frantically googling the difference between preseed, sperm, and EWCM since I so rarely get EWCM, I wasn't sure. 30 hours post DTD, I'm fairly certain that's what it is. I'm hoping BD Friday am and Sunday night allows us to hit it still. OPK was not positive, so I should have some time left, right??

Well I survived my lovely week of working six out of eight days. Yes, I did get AF in the middle of all of this so now I'm back in the WTO club. I just put the last load of catch up laundry in and we're heading to one of our vacation homes this evening for the week.  (Then my husband has a meeting on Friday and I'm working the weekend--yay!?!)

@chloe97 Once that OPK goes + you could still have up to 2 days (typically) to O! So technically if it goes + tomorrow then you could still have 3 days from today. But it depends. I usually O the day of or the day after. When does your H come back? FX!!

Hi @ladipale. We DTD yesterday and today. I think I had a temp spike today though I still have EWCM so may try one more time. My migraine is still happening. Saw the Headache Dr today and I get an MRI tomorrow. I passed my neuro exam so they are very apt to believe I'm just having a very long migraine (going on 3 weeks now). MRI tomorrow rules out MS. Keeping my fingers crossed.

And just like that my hope for this cycle is dashed. Very thick, obvious EWCM this morning and no temp spike-in fact it dropped. My OPKs are stark white and now I'm on prednisone-a steroid so I'm sure it's impeding ovulation. I've been crying all morning. As if it's not bad enough that I'm dealing with this headache. This is just an insult. I'm SOOOOOO frustrated. I feel like I'm being led astray by a headache Dr who swore that prednisone would have no effect on TTC. And it's not even working! I also think I'm being overmedicated on Synthroid. We won't try anymore this cycle bc last time I got pregnant after ovulating so late, I had a 13 week pregnancy that ended with triploidy. I just want to know why this is happening to me?!?!?!!?!? I'm sooooo frustrated and I feel like crap.

@chloe97  I'm so sorry. This is all so frustrating. Maybe being ill with the headache and I believe you had mentioned bad sleep is contributing to off temps. Besides the EWCM do you have any other signs of ovulation since you had a dark OPK a couple of days ago or yesterday (sorry I can't remember what day that was)? Regardless, I hope you are able to get some answers soon and get your meds on track. One suggestion- a couple of months ago I had a debilitating headache and my acupuncturist via two sessions two days in row was able to really calm it down and get it to go away completely. Not sure if you already tried that but I wanted to throw it out there. I hope you feel better soon, thinking of you.

@roxgibbons @ladipale @fiorip @TScalei Thanks ladies. I'm just feeling so sorry for myself right now. It just sucks to get your hopes up to have them dashed before the TWW even starts. I'm still dealing with anxiety from what is going on with my body. The nurse called and said the Dr hadn't looked at the scans yet and that they mostly looked ok, but I have a pineal cyst which is pretty common and not an issue usually. My C-spine scan had something on it that they wanted the Dr to look at,but wouldn't tell me what it was. So frustrating! Like don't call with results and then not be able to give me the results!

Anyway, I'm hopeful the pain that I felt in my ovaries today was ovulation, but I'm not getting my hopes up since I have intermittent pain my ovaries pretty much everyday from CD 3-ovulation. Does anyone else get this? Has anyone ever gotten a monitored cycle without being medicated? I'd really like to know if I'm developing cysts or why I feel regular ovary pain.

Well my temp spiked today and I took it early, so hopefully that means I've ovulated! My chart is a mess this week because of sleep deprivation. I took 2 temps Monday because I woke early and then went back to sleep and woke up 3 hours later. They are .45 degrees apart. And then I took 2 temps yesterday 97.54 and 97.63. Believe it or not if one is entered versus the other, it changes my O-day. Because EWCM did not dry up til last night/this morning, I'm going with yesterday which gives us -3,-1 timing. It also makes it 72 hrs post OPK +.  Either way, I'm super concerned that the egg(s) I ovulated are bad since it seems like I geared up to ovulate and just couldn't. I will be a mess if I do get KU.

Oh @chloe97 what a mind eff, sorry your cycle is so out of whack.

Not sure what's going on with me, just trying to relax and not stress about it. Got some EWCM this afternoon, cd19, but my temps are all over the place. I've been using the bbt adjuster each morning and my temps seem to be higher than they have been but every time I get a spike its followed by a drop :/ Last two cycles I O'd on cd18 & 19 so hopefully it's right around the corner. I'm falling out of sync with my cycle buddies  :(

Question...  After a loss how many cycles did it take before you had some sort of regularity?  I don't know when I should start tracking and temping because I am still recovering from epiotic pg and my numbers are still really high.  Did you all go back to tracking/temping after your first AF?

Sorry, @chloe97 that this has been such a rollercoaster for you. Fx that everything works out.

@SoonToBeMommaHowe Sorry your body is being confusing - I find myself thinking the same thing way too often. I hope you O soon!

@justsuzie It really differs so much for everyone. After my MC in Feb, I didn't really regulate until my last cycle (August), and I had some mid-cycle unexplained bleeding that lasted ~5-6 weeks. I also was not ovulating. But, I think mine was a more unusual experience. I hope you regulate quickly! I started temping after my first AF and that was my first foray into temping. I find it incredibly helpful. Good luck!

This will be my first attempt at temping/tracking.  We got pg our first after my iud was removed which is a good sign I guess considering I am an older first timer @ 36.  Hopefully I will be blessed again.  This board is really helping me begin to cope though.  Thank you all, so inspiring and positive when it is so easy to just be depressed.

@justsuzie I just started temping in September. I really like the confirmation that I O'd and that I seem to be more in tune with what my body is telling me.

Can a girl just get a temp rise?! I chose not to get more OPKs when I ran out on cd15 bc when you aren't working $40 seems like too much $ and the cheapies don't work for me...so I was all about HIO during FW, wait for the temp rise btwn cd17-19 and then bingo bango. Currently on cd20 and not so much as a hint of a temp rise! I thought 18 was gonna end up being the magical day but lower temps the next two days  :/

Anyone else have crazy charts like this?
