@brooklyngirl18 I'm sorry that's so frustrating! Sometimes I get so irritated trying to figure out what my body is doing. Do you do the OPK in the morning or later? Hopefully the temps the next few days will give you some answers. It's frustrating!

@laberge hopefully the random crosshairs were due to wonky temps and you still have a shot.

AFM: supposed today is O day. I had a positive OPK yesterday morning with two solid dark lines. I had light OPK's on Wednesday and Thursdayby hat progressively got darker. I had EWCM starting Wednesday thru yesterday. Thus far today things have dried up and my OPK this morning was negative. I feel like I missed my window. DH and I haven't BDd since Wednesday as he was sick but we're planning on trying tonight's I have no signs of O at all. Is it too early? I though ovulation occurred approximately 36 hours after a positive OPK but I don't feel like ovulation is imminent at all and in fact I wonder if it happened. I wish I was temping.

I'm on CD 10 so there will be lots of BD for the next 10 days!  I use clear blue easy advanced OPKs.  I have always had good luck with.  My cycle is a bit out of wake after MC and was after first pregnancy too.  Usually by 3rd cycle post pregnancy my body gets back to normal.  Hoping that trait continues or even sooner.  This is cycle 2 post MC.  FX.  I don't temp.  My sleep is crazy and I can't remember to do it all the time.  I'm 41 and eager to be pregnant again with healthy baby.  Hoping everyone has a good week and O arrives!

@roxgibbons  It could've been a false surge, or you may have O'd. Without temping, it's difficult to confirm.  I would HIO just in case.

@Mack2342 Good luck! Fx that everything gets back to normal this cycle.

FF took away my crosshairs this morning so I think it was just a fluke and sickness related. The next few days will show for sure.

thanks ladies. i had a massive temp drop this morning and my opk this morning is light. I don't always get a super dark opk line but i do definitely O every month so I'm thinking today is the day with the big temp drop, we'll see over the next few days. We haven't bd at all yet, I've been sick and life got in the way. I think dh is stuck at work super super late tonight but we are DEF bd'ing, no excuses lol

@roxgibbons Everyone is different of course, but I usually see EWCM go away or decrease significantly the day of O. The window after an OPK is 12-48 hours, so it makes it hard to pinpoint. Hopefully some sexy time tonight does the trick!

Thanks @laberge and @RiverSong15 I thinks it's going to take a couple of cycles to get my cycle figured out now that I'm not being monitored or doing meds. I think I'll start temping next cycle.  I was dealing with a lot of sleep issues this last month which is why I didn't do it but I think next month for sure. I guess what's throwing me off as well is I don't have any o pains like I normally do. Oh well- we BD'd last night and will throw in today as well for good measure.

I see that some of you are having really heavy periods since your miscarriage/D&Cs; but I'm on the other end and wondering if anyone else is too. I had one really heavy period right after my D&C but since then they have been really light. I don't mean to complain, because I'm loving the shorter periods, but I'm worried that there is something wrong. Is it normalnto have 1 1/2-2 day periods? I guess I'm worried about scaring from my procedure.

Also - I'm totally ticked...I was supposed to have my CD3 FSH test but of course CD3 was Sunday and none of the labs were open. I guess I have to wait until next cycle. Why is everything taking forever?!

FX for you @roxgibbons and @brooklyngirl18

I have used the Clear Blue OPKs for two years and have always had very good success with them. I got a flashing smiley face yesterday morning and this morning. I usually O on CD13, so that seems about on track, as I am CD12, although I really expected a solid smiley face this morning. We BDd on CD9, 10, and 11 and plan to tonight as well. BUT I am now concerned and need your opinions, I feel like I am getting another UTI. If I have one, it will be the third since May. In May, the UTI was really bad and the doctor said do not try to PG this month. I was antibiotics for two weeks and I actually don't think it cleared it up. I went back in June and had a mild UTI and took antibiotics for another two weeks, which is why we did not try May and June.  Should I be concerned?

@MooFish2364 I've had the same thing happen, mine have been like 2 days long, plus some spotting, and I hope it's not a sign of anything wrong. It's been 5 months since my D&E and they're just starting to get a little heavier. If it's still like this next month with no luck TTC, I'm planning on running it by my OB.

Wish I could be more comforting, but I don't know if it's ok that they're like this :(
  • Options

@moofish2364 I'm with you on the shorter and lighter. Since I haven't had success yet I'm hopefully it is just my body taking a little longer to get back in the swing of things. In the past two months I've noticed more little tiny clotty things. Maybe I've always had them and not noticed, but pretty sure it has been a little different. This is yet another reason I started baby aspirin. This month was almost back to my normal so I'm hoping this is my month!!

  • Options
@newmommycoop I had one after my miscarriage from the catheter (even though they said the risk was so small I'd get one) and was on antibiotics for 5 days then all was fine for a week and it came back again. My dr tried a different antibiotic for another 5 days and that got rid of it along with cranberry pills for about a month after.  Were you on the same meds each time or different ones? I also now take acidophilus every morning to help. My dr said it can't hurt to do the acidophilus and the cranberry since they're not prescribed meds.
  • Options
@szwill86 They were different antibiotics. I am allergic to the preferred antibiotic, so they put me on pretty strong ones. The first one was for 10 days and the second was for 14 days. I also take two types of probiotics twice a day. Will the cranberry help if you have one or only to prevent you from getting one? I think I need to start taking those though.

@NewMommyCoop ughhh UTI's are the freaking worst I'm sorry. I got 2 back to back over the summer and it was miserable. It might be worth looking into because I think 'they' say if you get 3 or more in a year to check it out. I used to take cranberry pills religiously but they won't help now if you already have one. TMI but I make sure me and dh are freshly showered before BD just to be sure.

I'm cd 17 today and I might have O yesterday, I'm not sure. My opk has gone back and forth from stark white to medium darkness over the past few days and I had temp drop yesterday. I don't always get a strong positive opk so the medium shade might have been it. I've had zero ewcm which is bizarre for  me, I usually get quite a bit for 5-6 days so who even knows. I usually 0 cd18-20 so ill bd and few more times and see what the next few days has in store.

As @brooklyngirl18 said, the cranberry is as a preventative so if you already have one, it may not help. Sounds like you're already doing everything right to minimize the risk of UTIs so if you do have another, I might check with your OB. My sister had reoccuring ones a few years ago and went for all sorts of tests with a urologist- turns out she had some sort of inflammation at a certain point in her urethra and had to abstain from sex for two months to see if it helped (it did). Her OB gave her a standing script for Macrobid so she can get it filled when she feels one coming on.

@brooklyngirl18 GL for a more definitive looking chart the next few days and hopefully your timing is/was right!

@szwill86 and @brooklyngirl18 Thank you for the information. TMI - I do urinate before and after and use a wipe or shower after. It is so frustrating because you hear so often that hygiene helps. @NewMommyCoop - for a year or so I kept getting UTIs. I also have very good hygiene as well as DH. I haven't had one in years but it seemed like for a year or so I was getting 2-3 per year. I don't know if our bodies just go through weird cycles or what. I do know that sugar is really bad for bacteria growth. I don't know if you consume a lot of sugar (even beer and alcohol have sugar) - totally not saying that you do, but it was something that I didn't know for a long time.

@MooFish2364 I don't consume a lot of sugar, for the most part. I do love wine, but I am a dry red wine consumer, so the sugar content isn't nearly as high as sweet wine. My doctor brought that up too, but said it was unlikely the cause based on my diet. I know water consumption plays a part too, and I do not drink enough water. I am working on that, so maybe it will help.

@migdala, Unfortunately, yes. I'm sure there are plenty of people who get pregnant without avoiding saliva, given that half of pregnancies (in the US at least) are unplanned. So, I don't think it's a "must avoid at all costs" type of thing for many people. But it is technically a bad environment for sperm, so many people avoid it TTC and use sperm-friendly lube instead.

I'm sure it's not impossible, but I mean people also get pregnant when using condoms lol It's hard to know just how much harder it makes it for the sperm to swim but I'm trying my best to make it as easy on them as possible. It's a good thing to at least consider! That said, I do find it comforting to know it's possible because sometimes it can be a little hard to avoid. For instance, i had to make the decision the other night that some saliva was better than no sperm at all ;)

I know a lot of you don't use the CBE Advanced OPKs but I have never had this happen before and I know many of you are much more knowledgeable in this area than I am. I have had four days of flashing smiley faces (I normally only get one flashing and then a solid). I read on the CBE website that the flashing smiley means that the stick has detected a rise in estrogen, which occurs in the days before O, and the solid smiley means a detection in the LH surge. What might cause my estrogen levels to rise enough to be detected for four days? I am starting to get concerned that I will not get a solid smiley. @RiverSong15 and @chloe97 you both seem to have a lot of knowledge, any thoughts? Anyone else have thoughts on this?
