@NewMommyCoop That's an interesting question that I'm not sure about the answer to. Unless you had a really short surge, you should get a smiley. You do get a second estrogen surge in the luteal phase, although it's much smaller than in the follicular phase. So while I suppose it's possible to O and still get flashy smileys afterwards, I think it's much more likely that you just haven't ovulated yet. Also, you can still O without a positive OPK. I don't always get true positives on Wondfos, but temping (and you know, getting pregnant twice), told me I definitely ovulated. Have you tried using cheaper line tests like Wondfos to see if the test is darkening? Suoer frustrating though!
Edit: I realize my post was contradictory. I'm not entirely sure what's going on with your cycle, unfortunately. You aren't temping, right? Maybe you can just aim for EOD sex until fertile CM and flashy smileys go away? That should cover your bases.
@laeberge3 No, I don't temp. Thought about it and bought a thermometer, but I sleep poorly and toss and turn a lot during the night, so I don't know how accurate it would be.

@NewMommyCoop If this cycle isn't successful, temping might be worth a try. I toss and turn, wake up a lot, and generally sleep like crap. My charts are rocky, but FF can still interpret it and find O. FX this cycle works out for you though!
@allowachick I agree with pp about the mabis thermometer. It's been better than my old one that wasn't to the hundreths.
@brooklyngirl18 I always wake up like 30 mins before my alarm and temp then go back to sleep and temp when i wake up again. Then id put my first temp in the basal body calculator and see if it was close to my second time temp. Too much work! Now I just use the temp from after my longest stretch of sleep and it's been comparable to my other patterns on past charts.
Also, good to know about the pre-seed being ok a few minutes before. Made me feel less awkward thinking about doing it 15 mins before. Also a TMI q since we've already gone there- did you use the applicators that it came with or no?

@szwill86 this month my temps hovered around 97.3-97.4 and the past 2 days they were down to 96.9, 97.0. Today at 5:30 it was 96.9 and then at 7:30 it was back up to 97.4 so I'm hoping 97.4 is legit and I O'd yesterday giving me great timing. I think 97.4 is legit because its the same time I temp everyday, even though I woke up for a few minutes at 530 and temped. I realize i sound crazy and making the numbers work in my favor but i'm desperate
and yes I used to applicator last night and it was nbd. dh got a good laugh that I did it ahead of time so it made it a bit less awkward.
@RiverSong15 I might starting temping now so I can have an idea of where I normally am. **Sigh** So probably TMI but I have read a lot of things about temping that for the best accuracy, you should temp vaginally. Any thoughts?

@brooklyngirl18 and @szwill86; I use pre seed and always use their applicator. I usually insert about a minute before DH comes in room. From what I have read you want lub as close to cervix as possible.
@NewMommyCoop; yay for solid smiley. You better get busy tonight! I just got a flashing one today. We go with every other day except if there is solid smiley! FX crossed for everyone
So I posted this on the weekly check in but figured more people might see it here. I just got my CD3 FSH results in (it was actually done on CD4 because CD3 was a Sunday). Should I be worried that it was 8.3? I'm 33 and wondering if this is why we are having such a hard time getting pregnant. The MA said anything under 10 is considered normal and that we can run it again in a few weeks if I want (it is expensive and my insurance doesn't cover it so I don't want to unless it is necessary). Thoughts?
@MooFish2364 I'm glad you got results and I do hope that your MA is correct. I have not done any testing except thyroid and two clotting/autoimmune blood tests, so I am really clueless when it comes to that, but I do have my fingers crossed for you.

@NewMommyCoop Some women get better looking charts by temping vaginally. For example, if you tend to breathe through your mouth at night, oral temping can be rocky. I've only temped orally and have seen a shift. The key will be to pick a method and stick with it through the entire month. Your BBT readings will be different depending on the method you use, so you could really confuse your chart by switching mid-month.
@MooFish2364 As long as your results were within the normal range for you age group, I don't think I'd worry too much. Maybe it means you should go to an RE sooner once you hit the year mark? What did your other CD3 levels come back at? Did you do AMH?
I just started temping last cycle (mid-cycle) and managed to convince myself of two things: first, I'm a zombie with a BBT of 95.3 and second, I have a thyroid condition. Then I realized the outside temperature had dropped, we were still using the summer blanket, and I was generally cold in my sleep because of it! Phew. Crisis averted. Until now...
I seem to be having a pre-O temp drop without a post-O spike. Obviously, it's possible I haven't O'ed yet but all CM signs suggest otherwise (TMI: the EWCM has all dried up...)! Making matters worse, the CBAD opk broke after giving me a solid smile Tuesday. That's right, all those hormones crashed the system!! WTF??? As if this process wasn't rough enough already.
I guess I'll just take...ahem...deposits from our donor for a few more days for safety and then move to the TWW? Ugh.
I finally get my super positive OPK and then have a crappy nights sleep. Why would my body do this to me when I'm on O watch! *throws papers*
In slightly related news, TTC sex may be the most unromantic thing on the planet. DH and I got into it last night so didn't DTD and then this morning he was like, "I have to leave for work in 5 minutes so let's knock this out quick."

@kidria the cbad might not be broken ... there's a period of time after the solid smiley that it won't give you anything else. I forget how long but it should be in the directions somewhere.
I am in AZ for a work retreat and I'm miserable. Everyone talks about their children and I've gotten more than one wink-nudge about getting KU soon now that DH and I are married. It is really hard to grin through it. And I'm on day 3 of flashes smileys and I just want to be home with DH. Sorry to complain, I'm just feeling really blue today.
Well I got a flashing smiley yesterday and low today?! How does that happen and according to fertility app my window is not until Saturday. Hoping for more smileys in the next few days.
And yes the CB advanced will not let you retest once you get a non flashing smiley I believe for 48 hours.
still.no.temp.rise. ugh this cycle has been bizarre from the start so I'm not surprised. I usually O day 18-19 and here I am day 21 with no positive opk (not unusual for me) and no temp rise. I had a cold last week so could that have affected things? I also came down with a really bad UTI yesterday evening so now I can't even keep BDing. I had perfect timing for my expected O date. this sucks so bad.
edit to add: i started antibiotics last night for uti, could that affect my temp this morning?

@migdala Sorry you're having a rough day. Hope it gets better!
@Mack2342 That's odd that you got a low today - perhaps your body started to gear up to O and then took a few steps back. Fx you get that solid smiley soon!
Feeling a little better today after a bad TTC yesterday, so I'm going to try to carry that through the weekend and into my FW - which can totally come early if it wants.
@migdala I'm sorry people are being inconsiderate. I probably used to be one of these people because I had no idea about loss and IF. Never again will I ask stupid questions. I hope you get to go home soon before you get a solid smiley.
@brooklyngirl18 Ugh, I am so sorry. I was pretty sure I had an UTI earlier this week, but knew I was supposed to O. I have not gone to the doctor yet, but symptoms actually have gotten better, so hoping I don't. Do you use wondfo or CB Advanced?
@laeberge3 Sorry you had a bad TTC day; hopefully the FW will help.

@brooklyngirl18 That is how my UTI was in May, I was fine before lunch and had to pee every five minutes after lunch, that was pretty much my only symptom. I knew something was wrong and went to the urgent care clinic. The doctor said I had to have had it for several weeks for it to be as bad as it was. I hate UTIs and antibiotics. I have never used a wondfo, but they sound frustrating from what I have read on here. Although if you have a weak surge, the CB Advanced may not turn either? I starting using them two years ago and they always worked, so I never tried anything else. This cycle was the only weird one for me, with five days of flashing smiley's, but I at least got the solid yesterday. I am sorry this is happening right now and FX that you did O already.

@NewMommyCoop UTI's really are the worst. Mine always start off with 'hmm something feels weird, I might have a uti" fast forward 2 hours later and I'm keeled over in pain and discomfort begging for antibiotics. Thankfully the antibiotics kick in very quickly but man, it really sucks.

So my mom just told me over the phone that her mom had had 3 miscarriages before she was born. I'm pretty upset that she didn't tell me this before, like when I was asking about family histories before I started trying to get pregnant. My mom didn't have any trouble (got accidentally pregnant at 38, no sweat), so I guess she just didn't think of it.
I know there probably wasn't anything that would've been done at the time but dang. Just feeling really emotional about this. Now I have to wait until Monday to call my OB's office to see if there's anything else they want to run with this new info.
@migdala I am hearing that ALL the time at work from coworkers that don't know about my loss. And, I have gained about 5lbs since my ectopic because I had to stop working out, and started binging on junk food because I was sad and now I am paranoid people are looking at me wondering if I gained weight because I am pregnant. I've mastered "closed-eye-rolling" whenever I hear, so when are you and Dan gonna yadadada.....!
Well...I am endlessly amazed by my ability to delve into BSC at the drop of a hat. Finally got a nice temp spike so FF finally doled out a crosshair! Off I go to the TWW board so those amazing women can listen to my BSC musings!
@reneeannemm It's nice to meet you too, virtually. Though, obviously, I wish we we'd never met!

So so happy that I made it back from my work trip before the solid smiley, but now I'm ready for it to get here already! Anyone know why a MC would affect how long my estrogen rise takes prior to the LH surge? Dr. Google is letting me down.
@lin0442 - I just got the results of my RE testing (had 2 mmcs) and I have a genetic blood clotting disorder called plasminogen activation inhibitor that causes mc. Your grandmother could just be a confidence but it could be worth looking in too.
@migdala I'm with you on that. I get one, occasionally no flashing smiley faces before a solid and I had six mornings in a row after the last loss. I started testing three times a day after three flashing because I didn't want to miss the surge. I had a flashing last Thursday morning and a solid after lunch.

I guess I'll just take...ahem...deposits from our donor for a few more days for safety and then move to the TWW? Ugh.
In slightly related news, TTC sex may be the most unromantic thing on the planet. DH and I got into it last night so didn't DTD and then this morning he was like, "I have to leave for work in 5 minutes so let's knock this out quick."

And yes the CB advanced will not let you retest once you get a non flashing smiley I believe for 48 hours.
edit to add: i started antibiotics last night for uti, could that affect my temp this morning?

@kidria Fx that you did O!

I know there probably wasn't anything that would've been done at the time but dang. Just feeling really emotional about this. Now I have to wait until Monday to call my OB's office to see if there's anything else they want to run with this new info.
@reneeannemm It's nice to meet you too, virtually. Though, obviously, I wish we we'd never met!
@brooklyngirl18 and @NewMommyCoop UTIs are awful. The one I had years ago really took my breath away.
@laeberge3 Bring on the FW!!!!
@Mack2342 Sometimes I think all these sticks and thermometers and charts are taunting us. Hopefully, the sticks start cooperating!
@migdala I hope you made it home safe and sound! And in time!

So so happy that I made it back from my work trip before the solid smiley, but now I'm ready for it to get here already! Anyone know why a MC would affect how long my estrogen rise takes prior to the LH surge? Dr. Google is letting me down.
Hope you ladies are having nice weekends
